ಅತ್ತಿವೇರಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮ ಮುಂಡಗೋಡ ಗ್ರಾಮದಿಂದ 15 ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ಯಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 48 ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಅತ್ತಿವೇರಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮ ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ, ಇದು 22 ಚದರ ಕಿ. ಮೀ. ಮತ್ತು ಅತ್ತಿವೇರಿ ಸರೋವರದ ಸುತ್ತ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅತ್ತಿವೇರಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮವು ಸುಮಾರು 75 ಜಾತಿಯ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೆಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆಗಳು:
1) ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುವ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು: ರೆಡ್-ನ್ಯಾಪ್ಡ್ ಐಬಿಸ್, ಕಾರ್ಮೊರಂಟ್ಸ್, ಹಾರ್ನ್ಬಿಲ್ಸ್, ಕಿಂಗ್‌ಫಿಶರ್ಸ್, ಸ್ಪೂನ್ಬಿಲ್, ಬಾರ್ನ್ ಸ್ವಾಲೋ, ಎಗ್ರೆಟ್ಸ್, ಬೀ-ಈಟರ್ಸ್, ಗಿಳಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು

4) ಸಮಯ:
ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 6 ರಿಂದ ಸಂಜೆ 6 ರವರೆಗೆ ತೆರೆದಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

We visited in August, so didn't get a chance to see different birds. Best time to visit from mid Sep to November. Entry fees 25 for adults. Nice lake at the end, small park for children to play.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ 12 ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 'ಅತ್ತಿವೇರಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮವು" ಸಹ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಕರ್ಷಿಣಿಯ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ತಾಣ.
ಈ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮವು 1994ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಉತ್ತರ ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸುಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಅತ್ತಿವೇರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರು ಬರಲು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರಣ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅತೀ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅತ್ತಿ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದ. ಅತ್ತಿಮರವು ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಅಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ರುಚಿಕರ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳೊಂಡು ಸುಮಧುರ ಪರಿಮಳವನ್ನು ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮವು ಎಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲೂ ಹಚ್ಚ ಹಸುರಿನ ಯಲ್ಲಾಪುರ-ಮುಂಡಗೋಡ್ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿತ ಅಭಯಾರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಸದಾ ಕಾಲ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರನ್ನು ತನ್ನತ್ತ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಸರಿಸುಮಾರು ಎರಡು ಚದರ ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ವಿಸ್ತೀರ್ಣದ ಈ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮವು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛಂದವಾದ ಕೆರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಗಳೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸಣ್ಣ ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟು ಸಹ ಇದೆ.
ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗೇಯೇ ನವೆಂಬರ್ನಿಂದ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಬರೋವವವರು. ರಾಜ್ಯದ 500 ಪ್ರಭೇದಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ 150 ಜಾತಿಯ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಸಿಗುತ್ತವೆ.
ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನಸುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಇಳಿಸಂಜೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಸುತ್ತವೆ, ಹಾಗಾಗೇಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಹ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 6 ರಿಂದ್ 11 ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಜೆ 4 ಗಂಟೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ವೀಕ್ಷಣಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಸಮಯ.
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನವಿಲುಗಳು, ಕಿಂಗ್ ಫಿಷರ್ಸ್, ಮಂಗಟ್ಟೆ, ಐಬೇಸ್, ಸ್ಟೋನ್ ಬಿಲ್, ಬೆಳ್ಳಕ್ಕೆ, ನೀರು ಕಾಗೆ, ಬಾತುಕೋಳಿಗಳು, ಮರಕುಟುಕ, ಗಿಳಿಗಳು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುವ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು.
ಕಾಡು ಹಂದಿಗಳು, ಮುಂಗುಸಿ, ನರಿಗಳು, ಹಾವುಗಳು, ಮಂಗಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಾಯಂ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು.
ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಚಂದವಾದ ವಾತಾವರಣದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನವಿದ್ದು, ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆಂದೇ ವಿಧವಾದ ಆಟವಾಡಲು ಜೋಕಾಲಿ, ಜಾರುಗೊಂಡಿ ಹೊಂದಿದೇ.
ಉಚಿತ ವಾಹನಗಳ ನಿಲುಗಡೆಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಜಾಗವಿದ್ದು, ಓರ್ವರಿಗೆ 25/- ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಶುಲ್ಕವನ್ನು (ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರ್ ಶುಲ್ಕ -100/-) ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಈ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮವು 1994ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಉತ್ತರ ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸುಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಅತ್ತಿವೇರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರು ಬರಲು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರಣ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅತೀ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅತ್ತಿ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದ. ಅತ್ತಿಮರವು ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಅಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ರುಚಿಕರ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳೊಂಡು ಸುಮಧುರ ಪರಿಮಳವನ್ನು ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ.

This sanctury is a diverse place of birds and water.
There are a wide variety of birds to see.
A water bridge is there for a descent and marvellous view.

Best place near to Hubli, you can visit with your family and friends. Very short distance at Sirsi Road 30KM from Hubli, After Tadas. Park and lake makes beutiful view and you will ee different types of Birds which makes you Happy.

Peaceful place. It requires certain amenities to be developed. We observed only 1 man at the entrance gate is handling entire sanctuary. I suggest, some water sports can also be started.

Very nice place for a day outing for bird watching. Good maintaining staff and are very helpful. And Very soft speaking but strict to their rules. Binoculars are must to watch birds.
As per sources they are planning to install a telescope to watch birds sitting other side of the backwater. Visitors are the people who just consider it as a picnic spot and through everything here and there even though management have kept dustbins at may places.
Attiveri Bird Sanctuary covering an area of 223 sq km is situated in between the taluk borders of Mundgod in Uttara Kannada and Kalghatgi in Dharwad district. Its creation was an amazing product of the irrigation needs of the Ativeri village farmers. In 1990, when an irrigation tank was built across the Thayavvanahalla near this village, it resulted in the partial submergence of the natural forest around the nallah Trees that did not submerge started attracting varieties of birds, both local as well as migratory. This tank or reservoir, located amidst a moist deciduous forest in calm and serene surroundings with abundant food became a paradise for birds seeking refuge for their breeding activities.

Attiveri is a nice place. It's good it's best for picnic or one day trip. It's near by hubballi. From hubli it's around 40 kilometres. From hubli You have to head towards shirsi it's in between tadas and Mundagod city. From Tadas onwards greenery starts, you can enjoy the nature here as well. Near by this bird sanctuary, lake is also there. Here different types of birds arrive from different locations. The road to this sanctuary is also good. This place is good for photoshoot also.

Very clean and well mentained park. It has canteen and a dormitory for the visitors. There nice long bridge inside the lake to watch the birds.

This village is in the Mundgod taluk and place has been improved a lot in recent years. Last time I visited was in the year 2013-2014.
Birds inhabiting this area include cattle egret, Indian and little cormorants, black-headed ibis, Eurasian spoonbill, pied and white-throated kingfishers, Indian grey hornbill and barn swallow. The agricultural fields surrounding the sanctuary attract a variety of aquatic creatures.
The best time to visit the sanctuary is between November and March.

Early morning and evening is the best time to visit otherwise we are wasting the time without seeing the birds, we just enjoying nature and park for kids in rest of the time

I went morning at 7 beautiful environment and good nature.
Birds were there but they are too far for view site were I can see only colours of the bird and listen sounds of bird.
The fish's has more attracted me.

Very nice place for children to enjoy.one can plan to visit after visiting Tiberian colony as it is around 10 km from there.if you go in evening you can get bird sightings. Dam is small but view from view point is very nice. Also there is small place inside for children to play

Beautiful bird sanctuary. Well maintained by the forest department. Beautiful birds and lots of fishes. Take something to feed the fishes. Very refreshing.

The place has improved a lot since my first visit 2012. The forest officials are keen to improve the facility further for migratory & resident birds as well as for humans too. They are seeking advice from the visitors to make the place better.
