Ate here on a recent trip and loved the view nitre experience. Food was great and especially great value considering the prices. It is a real oasis in Bangalore - peaceful, quaint and quiet in the heart of the busy city.
We tried the edamame, miso soup, California rolls, salmon sashimi and tempura prawn. All delicious
Though the entry to the restaurant was not clearly cut out, but the hospitality and good food definitely makes up for it. The ambience is nice and the food is overall quite good in taste, specially the desserts (you can't miss it).
Really great food. Chicken paitan ramen was really good. For dessert, japanese cheesecake and dorayaki were amazing! Ice cream mochi is also a must try
Unnecessarily too expensive by that I mean unnecessarily too expensive! Worse case scenario, normal chilled bisleri water 1litre costs ₹40/- I mean if we’re talking about the authentic Japanese dish;it’s an exception but even a water bottle costing that way is a no way The gst is out of question!
I can dive a 50k feet leap from a plane without a parachute but only once, the same thing with visiting azukii
This place serves authentic Japanese cuisine. Food is good but parking space for car might be a little hustle. Nice Ambience. Egg chahan (Fried rice) was good. Mochi Ice cream was tasty. Overall good food but quite expensive.
You can find Authentic Japanese food in Bangalore… loved the ambiance, food and service. It is a small bistro type of place with limited seating. You will like the ambiance and the folk music of Japan is played in the background.that adds to the ambiance.with lot of miniatures of different aspects of Japanese culture.
Food is excellent, as I am vegetarian I preferred veg sushis and few noodles. If you are non vegetarian, then you have wide variety of options… magazine style menu offered with detailed info about each dish!
Azukii's authentic interiors transports you instantly to a rural Japanese ambience, and the Chef and her entourage make sure service is discreet, respectful but on-game. The food is absolutely brilliant, a tad pricey by Bangalore standards (but perfectly understandable given the quality of ingredients, and the commitment to the overall experience), and is a clear winner for the contender of best Japanese cuisine for Old Bangalore patrons.
Well i was first in this restaurant so i would like to say you all that, it was so much good to be here and the foods and the hospitality was pretty amazing @Khiu @sanjay they were so good i loved the way they serve the foods. ️ thank you Azukii teams
I have to say, Azzuki Bistro is definitely in my top 5 favourite restaurants. The ramen dish I had was simply outstanding - the flavour, quality, and portion size were all perfect. The sushi was also excellent, and the mochi ice cream was easily the best I've ever tasted. The ambiance of the restaurant is stunning, with the décor and atmosphere making you feel like you're stepping into a Japanese eatery. I would definitely recommend visiting during the day to fully appreciate the ambiance. Overall, my experience at Azzuki Bistro was fantastic and I cannot wait to visit again!
The authenticity of the place is not just for promotion, its actually what they say and what they show. The Taste of the food is Fantastic, simple yet soo rich and diverse for the taste buds
I visited on 31st eve & met one of the loveliest and sweet staff Shivani who made my visit an absolute amazing last day of 2022.hope her service to customer will be acknowledge by many ️!
One of the best Japanese restaurants in town. If you’re a vegetarian though, maybe it’s 4 stars - it’s hit or miss. But fish eaters will not find better sashimi.
Azuki is a little gem hidden away from the crowds of Central Bangalore. Been here a few times and I have loved every single visit. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff and ambience are warm and inviting.
The restaurant recently reopened after renovations. The ambience is cosy, service staff is extraordinarily nice and the food is amazing! My husband and I enjoyed the soups, the pork gyoza, and the beef steak. The best part was the strawberry ice cream though. 100% recommend!
Great place to have Japanese lunch. Great quality with around Rs. 1500/- per person inclusive of non-alcoholic drink and dessert. Sushi was too good. Best vegetarian variety among pan-asian restaurants.
We came here after reading all the wonderful reviews. However, we were a little disappointed as they didn’t have sake nor the sochu. We loved the miso soup, but if you are planning on ordering one of the rice dishes for mains it’s better to check with the staff because you get a complimentary miso soup with some main rice dishes. The sashimi, ramen noodles and cheesecake was good, shiitake mushroom and egg rice was also good.
I wish they at least had some rice tea or some other Japanese drinks as we were expecting to have sake after a long time. They have the thickest menu book but a lot of items on the menu was not available on a Sunday morning.
Had the Pork Shoju Ramen, it had only one small slice of pork. It was missing the usual condiments and felt only full of noodles. The broth was tasty. The spicy tuna roll was fantastic. The sake delicious.
Delicious sushi. Big portions. Ordered a veganized veg sushi. Server didn’t give us any water so that’s the only complaint.pricey - about 2000 rupees per person for a main dish and a non alcoholic drink and a shared dessert.
The food was delightful, the staff polite. Aesthetic of the place spot on. Considering it was covid we were probably given breakaway chopsticks. The service was swift and left little to complain about.
Fresh, authentic, delicious and beautifully presented Japanese fare. There is no Japanese restaurant in Bangalore, and likely South India which matches Azuki in terms of sheer quality, taste and authenticity.
Wow! Easily the most authentic Japanese food experience I’ve had in Bangalore. We came for dinner and we’re seated in 1 of 8 tables outside. It’s run by a lovely Japanese lady and her staff. The menu is extensive and almost 25 pages long. We ordered 2 sushi platters, 2 boba teas and 1 ramen noodle soup. We fell in love with Azuki at first bite. The taste was rich in flavour and aromatic. Azuki is expensive but high value for money.
Went there the past week. Menu was huge with many veg options. I'm a vegetarian. Sushi n soup were there. But they did not have a SINGLE veg dish. Was told Japanese don't eat veg. I've had many wonderful veg meals in Japan. May be they have never had food in a monastery in Japan? They should say we do not serve vegetarians!
Amazing amazing Japanese food in a quaint place tucked away in the bye lanes of Richmond Town. It's 5 minutes away from home but we learnt about it almost a year after it opened that too thanks to a friend who was visiting from Mumbai. Caters mostly to expat Japanese folks living in the city. Everything we had was super delicious ~ Okonomiyaki, Tonkatsu, Gyoza, Prawn Tempura and of course the Sake. I was dreaming about the meal for days afterwards. They have a massive menu so I'm surely going back very soon.
Very authentic Japanese Food. The waiters speak Japanese. The attention to details is amazing. Its a bit on the expensive side, but the service, food, ambiance is also accordingly good.
Really a nice and peaceful place. The food was delicious. We had also absolutely no problem to consume Sushi with raw fish. That is unfortunately always dangerous here in India. So we can highly recommend this Japanese restaurant. Thank you
One of the most quiet and accomodating places that I've been to. The staff was very polite and served with a smile on their face. The food was amazing and the Japanese sweet served were delectable.
Azuki is hands down the best sushi/sashimi place in Bangalore. I have never had such fresh tasting fish anywhere else in Bangalore. Other food items are also really tasty. Worth the price.
It’s missing out on a star purely because there’s still some teeny-tiny wiggle room for improvement. I ‘discovered’ this place owing to one louliest of leddis (loveliest of ladies) who’s spent all her considerable growing up years in Japan and has moved to Luru Begaas (because) well it’s Bengaluru, who doesn’t want to move here? But I digress…
Order anything that is meat, dredged in panko and fried to golden hues, especially pork (read Hire Tonkatsu). Order the sushi (rolls, seafood futomaki roll). You’ve got to get their bento boxes (yakibuta), have to! If you care for Japanese Palak (matcha bruh) try their matcha milk (cold). Ramens are alright too.
We happened to reach the restaurant at 4: 00 PM, so the kitchen was closed, but dessert were available. We had the Matcha Daifuku Mochi, Dorayaki, Mitarashi Dango and Sake. They were all excellent, and tasted very authentic. In particular, I liked the Dorayaki.
The kitchen opened at 6: 00, and we chose the okonomiyaki, vegetarian Tempura and ramen. The tempura was crispy, fluffy and gorgeous. The okonomiyaki was a bit in the heavier side, and very creamy. The ramen was a complete winner- the broth was heavenly, the noodles were perfect and the entire dish was superb.
Initially had good expectation from the place, but was really disappointed. The ambience was pleasant, but the service time toooo long (got the menu after 10mins, the ice tea after 1 hour, the starter{wrong item served} which after 1.5hours, the forgot to give the redbull, finally got the main course after 1hour 45mins which so wasnt upto the mark). The in house recommended ramen was really under average too. The gave a complentary dessert which didn't suit our taste either.
We were a bit early on a Sunday so couldn’t get dumplings. Beef is a challenge so if that’s what anyone is going for it might well be unavailable, but that isn’t the restaurant’s fault. Food was good, and in good quantity. Didn’t try the sashimi just to be careful. The food preparers do not seem to think that they need to wear a mask. None of them were seen to have one on, even after pointing this out.
We’ll be back though, as good Japanese food is so hard to come by in this city. Nice ambience.
This was my favourite Japanese restaurant because of its authenticity. I don't come here often because it's 40 mins from my place. I was looking forward to eat here, I was famished.
Don't get me wrong, food is good and only go if you're willing to wait for 1 hour 30 mins to eat. Oh! They'll also get your order wrong. It just didn't happen to us, even the tables next to us experienced this issue (see the review below mine)
I don't know what happened and they definitely need to work on their systems.
It took 1hr to receive my salmon sushi and even after that much time, they "didn't start cooking" my other order yet - omurice. It's ok, we cancelled omurice because they "mistakenly served" two plates of tamago nigiri.
They didn't clean our table to remove the utensils. Crazy part is when we asked for the bill, they asked us what we ate.
Don't get me wrong, I love the food and I'll come back once they improve the service. It's not worth 40 mins of travel time + almost 2 hours of waiting.
Fantastic! I enjoyed every authentic japanese item, especially the desserts I had here. The menu is huge and it has a significant number of vegetarian options too. Prices are worth the uniqueness of food here but I felt that Matcha Kakigori was overpriced though. Service was really good too.
This is one of the two places in Bangalore which made my 1000 km trip for food (from my place of work) worth the time and money spent. Cheers!
The Indian owner named Geetha doesn't know how to treat people. Shouting and misbehaving towards staffs and service providers, which is very unprofessional.
People won't respect you because of your age, but because of the way you are.
The manager taking the reservations told us that he could get us a table in 20-30 mins after we arrive. When we got there he basically spoke to us showing 0 interest in getting our business. This review is purely based on how bad the team etiquette is and not on how the food is.
Went there to try out some Japanese food but I little bit worried because it's my first Japanese food experience but amazing. Food was excellent. The menu adequate options for both rice and noodles. That bangaroll veg sushi fantastic price also moderate.
It's a cute little cafe type Japanese restaurant near residency road. We went just to try sushi there. The staff there were very responsive and helpful, the best thing is there are people who speak the local language Kannada which helped me a lot. We just tried the veg sushi, it was our first time in a Japanese cuisine. The Sushi's were presented well and all the ingredients were explained by the person who served. Should try the other menu items the next visit. I felt the latest menu to be a bit expensive. There may be around 20+ seats according to my estimate.
Appreciate the fact that it's completely run by women. Compact place. Do not bring aged people, till the cafe is relocated, as it's on the 2nd floor now.
-Food is okay. Not so exquisite. -I loved the cheese cake though, it's a must try! -Sea weed tea is also smth that I enjoyed. -The quality is more than sufficient, so I'd suggest groups to order one by one as you require.
The setting is good, trying to bring in the Japanese touch. Btw, I do wish you have a few low tables as the Japanese have at homes for food. We would love that. All the best as the cafe is set to expand.
I loved it! I was really missing some authentic Japanese cuisine and this place definitely has it! It's got a quiet ambience. The location might be slightly hard to find but once you enter the lane it's the last building in green.
A small cute cafe. It is located very interior. But it's a gem for Japanese food. It's basically inside a home so it's like a home cooked food. Everything we ordered was very good. Really liked the Anko Pai bread kind of thing filled with curry. Om rice was delicious. A must try cafe if you want to try japanese cuisine.
This cute lil café is hidden behind Communiti. Serves authentic Japanese food, the spaghetti brought back my childhood to me. All in all, most of the food was pretty good. Great quality for the price. The decor is very accommodating. Small staff but quick service.
Do try their range of desserts. It's not the conventional kind that is baked in an oven.
Don't forget to check out their collection of tea. Ask for your complementary cup of green tea as well!
In a word, this cafe is amazing! We ordered oyako don, matcha green tea, sushi and a plate sweets (don't remember the name, but it's a must try) and dorayaku If you don't know how to use chopsticks, this is the place to learn. Oyaku Don is a dish worth dying for and if you too are a Japanese culture geek, this is the cafe to die for. The ambience is great with kimonos and Naruto mangas (in Japanese) available to try and the food is absolutely awesome. I'd recommend this to everybody, and would keep visiting myself on a fairly regular basis now. Extremely impressed!
Best place to try japanese food and the ambience is so good. You will feel like you are in Japan. Best place for all otaku's. But it's pretty deep inside so you might find it hard to find.
Hidden place just off M G Road and Residency Road. Had gone there to get some Japanese sweets. Most of the sweets have eggs as ingredients. The owner is warm and friendly and it is a place where you can hear the birds and squirrels chirp outside the balcony in the trees around. You can enjoy a quiet lunch or dinner without being distracted by the din of the surrounding roads. There is also a Japanese travel agency in the same premises.
This place has amazing food and a great ambience. It's great for people who love trying out new food. The prices are a little high but they're worth it. It's not exactly a restaurant. It's more like an experience. It has a homely environment with the touch of Japanese culture.
I'm generally not a fan of pan asian food, but this place blew my mind away. I also don't go back to the same place a lot, but this is one of those very homely places with amazing food tagged along with a beautiful authentic Japanese experience.
It's a quaint, charming place. The chefs were from Japan, and it seems to be a crowd favourite among the Japanese folk here in Bangalore. The food was lovely!
Very authentic atmosphere with soft music playing, traditional Japanese clothing and reading materials on display. The seating is limited but offers a good view of the kitchen. The menu changes in accordance to what is fresh and is cooked from scratch. The set lunch meal features tofu miso soup, rice, a non veg main course and two salads in a bento box. They also offer japanese lessons on language and culture and help on visiting Japan.
