Begur Fort

It's too horrible to stay away because when I went some creepy sounds was whispering these things occurred when I was alone ther sat more than a hour these sounds I heard and I came very creepy horror experience, it felt as it was some horror place atlast.

Just a old reminder to what happens if we neglect our ancient structures.just sit and relax.there is no fort per se.but its near to sri naganatheswara swamy temple.must visit that place.plan a small picnic.

They needed protected fort places to rest from animals, their has been kashilingeshwara pratistithitha temple. Believed having golden charriot for this utsava.

Not a fort basically there is only a small temple type in the mid of an open field. If you want to go there, go at mday time only as in night time no lights are there and the temple also was closed so. Although it shows24/7 open on maps, but go in daytime only otherwise you will not able to see anything and it's risky also so. ।।

Scam. There's no fort, like not even ruins. There's just one smoool temple. Nice thirtha you'll get there that's it. But the place, it's like coorg. Full of lawn. Like more than your eyes can see. You can't see the end of the lawn. Very nice place to play cricket or frissbee

After visiting the place it feels like we have gone to some Village and there are small stones and structure are made on it.

There is no fort, just two small temples and a empty space where anti social elements come and consume drugs and alcohol. Also nice place to play cricket. It has a very old well and outside it has a secret passage which connected the fort with outside when there was a fort. I go there to fly my drone. Nice spot where noone disturbs you, only few cattle grazers and rarely those anti social elements.

The word ‘Fort’ is very msleading, because there is only a crude stone doorway that remains. The rest of the fort, which was of mud, has vanished leaving only a wasteland. The place looks like a big rural playground. There are two small, simple shrines which get painted once a while, but are rarely seen open. The villagers point to a ruined well and claim there”s a secret tunnel inside it to somewhere! If you show interest, they also throw in a couple of spooky tales for your entertainment!
The one single feature of interest here, for history enthusiasts, is a small 9th Century inscription recording the voluntary death of a Chieftain”s daughter. It can be seen on the stone frame of the doorway.
A word to people planning to visit: go without any expectations. And plenty of water. Sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.

A good location but only the pillars and a temple is there and the fort doesn't exist I think so as it may be damaged or I don't have any idea about it but the location is good.

Begur fort is a circular grass fort, at the highest point in Begur. It offers picturesque views of the city, and with a nice pair of binoculars, we can see Utility building and UB city too.
There are two ancient temples and an open well in the fort premises.
Beware of snakes as this place is very wild.

This place is secluded and pretty hard to find. Due to encroachment and urban development the sheen is lost

- Historical places should be well maintained
- Temple and the 4 pillars can be seen in this place

Dont go here. There is nothing. Even finding the place is a tast and you are just completely disappointed.there is literally just 4 pillars like in the pic

A little less than what I had expected. Just a small structure with some stones and an entrance. There is a temple near by. It took us sometime to reach there but we eventually got there with some help from the locals. Travel responsibly, Don't litter! Happy visiting!

Historical place and local people can guide about its existence. Its not far away from the begur temple. It has become a playground now.

An old mud fort, what remains there is just an old temple, a well and a circular ground with a big mud wall around it

1. Beguru Fort is old, but Only Entrance is there.
2. Inside Fort Two Temples are there.
3. Two Temples name
* Shri Kashi Vishswanatha Swamy
* Shri Venu Gopla Swamy
4. And mainly Suranga is there, it going to Same Temple? But Don't know.

It is mere a playground now, with a stone entrance. But a calm place to spend some time. There is a temple. Difficult to fine as there is a very narrow cut that you need to take to reach the place

Fort is an old mud wall rised high very close to historical Pancha Linga Temple and Begur lake. Difficult to reach as no proper signage is placed. Needs upkeep and attention from government to improve the place and make it a tourist attraction. The fort is used as playground by local kids. Also there is an old temple within the fort.

Its a pretty good place. Went in the evening so it was dark and we couldn't see anything. The place is a little hard to find but the locals are friendly and will guide you there

1000 years oldest Chola period Fort. The Cholas ruled Bengaluru. Thousands of years later, the castle's home and well are still there.

Quite old fort built by Chola dynasty and now everything is ruined except the Stone carved entrance, an active temple and a semi-dried Well used in ancient times. Locals have helped me to know about this fort & other attachments.

Sorry to say.there are nothing more to see now. Get your own snacks, water cans if sometime planning for a family outing. But nice & calm, peaceful area to talk to yourself and do any meditation.

It's an 1100 year old fort constructed during reign of chola over Bengaluru. It's a mud fort and has a small temple inside. A old empty well is there which is very steep please be careful not to slip into it. Good place chill after a small cycle ride with friends.

It's not a fort, just what you see in the pics here.in the entrance itself there are small four pillars and a very small temple inside. Closed on Sundays mostly. A vast green area and not so good place to visit alone for girls

First of all there is no fort. Just a ruined gate and a small temple. Don't plan to visit this if you are looking for a place to visit in Bangalore.

It has perfectly laid fort walls and inside there is pretty much nothing but ruins and a temple. A water hole for collection of water. It used to be the fort for the whole Begur zone. Finding the place isn't that easy but if you reach local they will guide you. Bring your own hydration and snack.

An interesting spot from a historical perspective. But nothing to see hear otherwise. Just a stone entrance and a small temple that's active. The surrounding clearing is used by kids to play.

This fort had been the glory of the Begur village during ancient times. Now we find only the ruins of the Fort, Stone Gate Way, Temple and an Ancient Stone Well. The Stone Well at the past was the major source of water for the Fort.

This fort was constructed in circle format, Now people come here and play and we can see the grown up Begur village and the tall buildings from here.

What must've once been a majestic fort has now been reduced to a vast play ground. The only surviving structures are the temple, a stone gateway and a well which has gone dry for the 1st time ever this year.
The stone gateway adorns one of Bangalore's oldest inscriptions which has worn-out and is barely visible, the translation can be found in the pics. The stone wall are reduced to mud mounds but stones which might have been a part of the fort walls are scattered all around the vicinity. Only a small section of the wall remains, probably because of the banyan tree protecting it

Only ruins of the entrance gate stands erect. And there's a small temple built in the recent past. Nothing much to see.

It was a nice and peaceful area. But now, due to statue building, it's polluted and there is no water in the lake, which took out the beautiful scenery.

It's old temple for cholas period.it's nice place to take photos and to see nature when is raining!

I request this place to b removed from 'places to visit'. Guys thats all that is to see in this place. I won't recommend visiting, even if u are 100 meters away from this place. Just don't!

Nice calm and silent place. Its like very rural place in the city. A large circular ground the size of a cricket stadium, full of green ggrass a small temple and a well, and an ancient ornamental gate. That's all to see.but the calmness is beautiful. A little difficult to reach (actually, finding the way) since the way is through a thickly residential village.

The old fort made by mud. There is a small temple inside the fort. There is only one entrance to the fort which is clearly showed in the picture. Inside the fort, we can see the old temple and there is a well which id almost disappeared but easily we can identify it was the water source of the good time of the fort. It is very sad that our government is not taking any kind of initiatives to protect such kind of monuments. The fort is in the stage of disappearing by the human activities like
encroaching from the sides and all.
