Probably one of the worse places that is running on commercial street. The staff is very unprofessional and they take their business for granted. It’s not the same as it used to be before. You can ditch this and relish in Anand sweets that is right opposite. Don’t do the mistake of visiting this place!
Once an iconic sweet stall, now it is very disappointing. The kitchen, eating area is very worst. No hygiene. The food is worst. They are serving stale and cold items even though they take much time to serve. The staff is so dirty in the kitchen. It has lost its reputation. Please be careful before eating. Opp to this is Anand bhavan sweets which is 1000 times better and un comparable
This place is my personal favourite for the yummiest Gulab Jamoon ever. Their Gulab Jamoons are so soft that it is impossible to eat just 1 piece. Whenever I visit Commercial Street, I cannot leave without buying Gulab Jamoon from here. If you ever want to eat the tastiest Gulab Jamoon in Bangalore, do not miss this place
Once upon a time i believe this was best sweet shop for gulab jamoon i had visited on 30-05-23 morning around 11.30 i don't know it's was fresh or 2 days old jamoon no taste and not worth going to this shop really very disappointed
It is very sad to see a place, that was one of Bangalore's iconic eateries, in shambles today. Extremely unhygienic cooking place, very dirty plates, pathetic tasting food (but for the Gulab Jamoon which has been the saving grace for years now). I am not sure why the place is so badly kept knowing well that Bangaloreans and Foreigners alike look forward to a memorable experience. Please stay away if you do not want to get disappointed on multiple counts. I am glad I could keep a few people away, who were debating to get in or not, as I walked out. Buttermilk was just plain packet curd put into a bowl, water added to it and mixed well in a dirty glass.thats it.and the person who served it also mentioned that he is serving less since they ran out of curds. I wish there was a "No star" option.forced to give a star to post. If this post is being read by the owner, my humble request is to please stop attempting to make people sick.
As much as i would love to give more stars. If you go in hygiene is kind off a put off.it can be cleaner and more welcoming with a little more kind staff. Having said that they have maintained the taste since forever.love the jamoon there.
Selling sweets kept open Very unhygienic place The plates are also clean Samosas are too small Tables are not clean Very sticky No proper ventilation inside Too dirty place in such a posh road
This is one of the original places on commercial Street. But beware! The upkeep of the place and cleanliness aren't up to snuff. That said the food in the chat were still a hit. And lots of fast food street Food & sweets. We went just for old times sake but highly doubt that I would ever go back. The place hasn't kept up with the times.
Don't even read this review, save time and go for some other restaurant.
Highly disappointed with the service, taste & ambiance. Worst vada pav, low quality bread, tea was pathetic that too they gave 3 different types of glasses for 3 guests. The wash basin was not cleaned, the water jug was dirty.
It’s very famous place for all kinds of sweet especially Gulaab jamoon…Although I tasted it for the first time…it met the hype expectations…prices are on higher end…
One of iconic places on Commercial Street. Have been going here for more than two decades. Love their samosa and jamoon. As mentioned by other users, the hygiene can be concern but the taste has not changed over the years.
The once upon a time most cherished and preferred only place for sweets has lost all its charm and taste. One of the choicest HOT GULAB JAMUN is a thorough disappointment (it doesn't even look like anything close, so one can imagine the taste is pathetic) don't even try it. Dumroot is basically fit to be thrown in two days as it gets spoilt even when stored in the refrigerator. The service & hygiene is repulsive & surely not worth a visit. So.to finish in a sentence A sad disappointment of efforts to visit & sweet lovers who will forget the original taste & also stop trying others of the like. The positive side to this is You won't want to try eating sweets for a while after this experience.
I have been to this place as a child, it was sooo good. I went there yesterday, it was such a disappointment. The jamun looked so horrible, all wrinkled. The samosa was horrible.
They are very good at harassing their employees and customers. Witnessed it today. They basically threaten their workers by not paying their salary on time. And they serve dirty food to their customers.owners like Aditya and his parents are big time culprits and they owe money to many of them. It’s not a paid review. It’s a legitimate review. When asked for salaries they end up not answering the call. Big time thieves they are. And quality of their sweets are horrible. They give spoilt Jamoon to the customers everyday. Please do not visit their outlet.
This place has always had great jamoon. Today I made the mistake of trying to eat lunch. The food, service, cleanliness, amenities were just horrifying. Don't ever eat here, just take away their jamoons.
The jamoon and chandrakala still have the old charm taste of Bangalore. Avoid the meal and parathas.not palatable. The place is pretty run down and unhygienic.high time it is refurbishef
Wish I have negative ratings to provide, Very unhygienic environment, the cooks don’t wear a mask and it was a nightmare last evening when we ordered for Salt Lassi and they gave us Buttermilk after mentioning this to the owner, they took back the buttermilk and gave us the lassi. To my surprise they never poured the buttermilk which my mom has already drank a little from the cup instead used the same buttermilk for other 2 customers.
When we raised this issue of unhygienic behaviour of the chef the order yelled at him and the cook pretended that it wasn’t a mistake, he just mixed the buttermilk. Really in this covid situation?
Quality of food and higiene has drastically reduced over time. The young cashier was very rude and had very little respect for the customers and no regard for food. Untouched food was thrown into the dustbin, simply bcoz the cook misunderstood the order. The dish could've been fed to someone who was hungry.
Been here after a decade and had great expectations but v poor service as they were understaffed. The samosas and gulab jamun are yummy but the chaats were made in a hurry and the lassi glass was not clean. They need to take care and appoint more staff during the weekends when they are busy. Good for takeaway rather than eat-in.
Please refrain urself from goin to the Ulsoor branch. Damrot was real bad, there was no ghee no flavour no tatse. It was like eating diet dal kichidi. Some of the sweets on thr counter looked real old Next, none of the savouries were fresh, each one of them had softened. Finally we thgt to buy kaju pudhina pakoda to get over the taste of dal kichidi (Damrot), I was digging in each of them to find a kaju. Real bad experience.
My husband and I are people who grew up eating bhagathram sweets.but today I say after having spent enough on our order today the sweets were terrible.that we could hardly finish even a piece of what we got. The jamoon still is good to taste like old times but the sonpapadi tasted metallic, their rabadi was thin and their rasmalai.was split. If I can't eat it. I can't serve to others. I think it's time for them to shut shop.since they can't maintain the quality. Really substandard sweets.
Ive been going here since i was a kid, good to see the taste hasnt changed and their chaats are also amazing, different and unique taste which you wont get anywhere. And im glad to see they have taken an initiative for cleanliness and maintaining it now. They listen to their customers
I was extremely hungry and ordered for a onion pakoda which i was charged 90 rs and from swiggy about 40 rs. If there was a negative rating i would have given it. The pakoda was powdery and made using dalda, less of onion more of batter, i guess this practice has not changed since 1948. I have tasted better pakodas from street side vendors and small shops who are more generous in using better ingredients with right proportion. Sadly i had to order something else and wait for another 30 minutes and dump this pakoda in the trash can.
Buggers were packing previous days stale Jamun for orders coming from Zomato and swiggy. The fresh jamun that came in were absolutely tasteless. People ordering on Zomato and swiggy are given the rotten stuff!
Ordered jamun, got half cooked. Previous experience with mixture also was bad (they packed stale) Had to exchange it for fresh. Trying to reach their numbers. SWITCHED OFF. Would not visit again.
Money can't by happiness, but it can buy a few things that ultimately lead you to happiness. Bhagatram sweets famous for their Gulab jamun and other sweets also chats. This was started around 70 years back in delhi. Also it imported from Delhi to Bangalore. A must try if your in Bangalore to have gulab jamun and also you will be able to go around and enjoy commercial street. The jamun is not too sweet it was a perfect in taste. Kindly follow my food page in Instagram "mr.thindipotha" for more foodie stuffs.
Heard lot of this Shop. Jamoon was hot and tasty, different from what we get normally. If anyone on the commercial Street then can definitely give a try.
Tried chats too but I didn't like it. Puri was not crip.
Must try awesome JAMOON and samosas. Moreover all sweets are good. Commercial street Bhagatram sweets is a must if not all your shopping is utter waste please don't miss out about this opportunity
Plz don't order anything from bhagatram sweets he's selling all 1 mnth old items it's not fresh. I ordered jamoons and few other items through dunzo and half of the items were Missing and the items delivered was almost 1 mnth old jamoons were so hard and pathetic.really shocking that they r not selling fresh items
Very poor quality and quantity, ordered 3 Samosa Chats and 2 Pav Bhaji through Dunzo, but the masala quantity for 3 samosa's was not even sufficient for even 1 samosa chat, no bhaji for pav, they have just sent pav without bhaji. Very poor delivery. Taste too was very disappointing, Never order anything from Bhagathram Sweets. Very poor i dont even wish to give 1* too.
One of the worst shop in this area I hav ask dry jamoon they are given normal jamoon. I said don't want jamoon one lady scolded Vry badly I hav paid 60rs without eating any thing they don't know sweets name only how they r treating customer I don't be careful
The chats are not good here! The worst chat I have ever ordered, Especially if you order it for delivery. The only reason you should come here is for the sweets like ghee laddoo, Gulab jamun, special burfi, etc.alu parata is just ok
Decent sweets. Slightly over-priced. Owner and staff are totally mannerless, rude to the core and lack even basic manners. The place itself is very unhygienic and unsafe. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. You can do better than this.
Jamoom, if u are person who love sweets, then this is a must visit place.
The best available sweet here is JAMOON. You can either eat it there or take it home keep it in fridge for more than 3-4 hours and then eat it. It will be in next level.
Great gulab jamun s, Not to sweet and balanced, kindly maintain the seating chairs or change, U get the place in commercial street wher people come in Good footfall, then u need to Keep the Seating place clean. One star less for Ambeince
