Bhartiya Jalpan

Bharatiya Jalpan used to be one of my favorite joints specially for club kachoris. I recently went there and to my surprise they charge 240 rs for some 4 to 5 pieces of club kachoris? But that day they were out of stock and i took poori subji which costed me same price for just 3 pooris. I mean seriously? Why so much price when its a self service. They really don't deserve or justify to charge so much.

The food is awesome, great food taste
Sany dev was really prompt and customer focused in taking orders and suggesting the best.

Taken the establishment 30 mins for 3 x filter coffee. Tastes sweet like badam milk when specifically said less sugar, Weak coffee.

Terrible experience, when you need a coffee hit. Didn't try anything else on the menu.

Very good food but very very bad service. And its the only restaurant I know of that does not serve buttermilk with North Indian thali and charge another 140₹ for extra buttermilk

Went on New Year's eve. Food quality was good. Among others had ordered Maharajah thali. When placing we asked and got clarification the thali cannot be shared. But staff assumed we will share and did not serve anything after giving the initial plate. When we flagged for service they said someone is coming, but no one came. When we finally got hold of the service person he said they thought we were going to share and did not serve further it seems. There goes the basic dining experience, let alone fine dining. They cannot have made one feel more unwanted. The manager finally removed the thali from the bill. But at this time, don't feel like ever going there again.

BTW, it's a different story that they did not offer the choice of starter, papad and the drink either.

Lovely place, they got separate seatings for self service & fine dine. Fine dine was in 1st floor. What a lovely ambiance. Large varieties in menu. First we went to Achari Paneer Tikka - tangy spicy paneer, taste of that Achari was so good.
Mango lassi - So thick and felt like having the real mango
In mains we ordered Misti roti & Garlic naan with dal - I loved garlic naan & dal was the best couldn’t stop eating.
Pink lemonade - They got lemonade’s in menu, if you like sprite then go for it. Otherwise it’s nice.
The main highlight was they gave gravy cup to eat along.
Overall service was good. Very friendly staffs. During peak hours you don’t find tables, waiting time will be there.
I would recommend this restaurant.

Bharatiya Jalpan is one of my favorite place, but on 21st July 2023, I took parcel Dal Makhani and Achari Soya Chap.literally, we throw it to dustbin, soya chap was not cooked and Dal Makhani was the worst. My money was wasted. I will never visit again or will recommend any.

Felt food is pretty average for the price paid. Can improve alot in terms of the taste and quality. Seating is good.

We visited this place on Sunday afternoon as we wanted to have some good veg thali. They do not stand well in terms of the taste and customer services and justify the the ratings and price of the menu as per my experience and there was nothing is upto the mark. The most disturbing thing to me was that cz of the Sunday they were overcrowded, their staff was totally unprofessional.we ordered the Maharaja thali, and asked waiter how many chapatis/bread do we get on the thali as it was not mentioned on the menu that its unlimited or no. The waiter replied 2. We were okay thinking that the potion would be enough but to our surprise it was really small 2 fulkas and small katori rice so we again asked the waiter if this is it? To this he replied ya rice and fulkas are unlimited but we are now closing the kitchen where as we could see they were literally making arrangements for new customers and people were waiting outside. They even tried to avoid serving Jalebis and when we asked for it specifically, they started arguing you are not done and we would serve it at the end. Please note that the Thali we ordered was 649+taxes per person. So Bhartiya Jalpan please stop fooling around your customers and take customers only if you have capacity to serve them well.

A big NO to this place. I visited this place seeing review and also name sounded Indian. But now I have more cons when compared to pros to be listed here.
Cons:
-Very expensive: ordered for Maharaja thali for 649/- as there was no other thali available for weekend.
-Waiting: Just to get starters of this maharaja Thali had to wait for 30 mins
- Non availability but pay: starter included pani Puri and I could see only Puri.when asked for pani answer was “Pani Karab hua hai, isiliye no pani “.
-Asked for plain phulka by returning already served butter phulka waited for 15 min but still they served me back with butter phulka
-in gravy list there was a panner gravy (here panner was not found). When asked for panner, plain cottage cheese (panner) was placed above gravy.
- starter was average and all gravy below average
- rice was without any taste.
Pros:
- nice presentation

It's very good service in this restaurant and food is very well and good behaviour in the staff of restaurants

Hygienic place. Reasonable prices. However, the food could be tastier. Sabji was cold and not heated up enough. Did not try their sweets.

This place has changed from one of my go to place to a horrible place now. Most of staff seems so negative in their behavior right from billing counter to staff preparing food as if they are tortured and being forced to work under harsh conditions.

Same is felt by friends as well. Would suggest to avoid this place

Good north indian food in Average price. Paneer chole kulcha and paneer paratha was really good. However bhaji in pav bhaji was not that good.

Good shop. Definitely a place to get ur sweet tooth fixed. Also offers a good range of snacks and other products.

Over expensive and the dishes dont taste that good. The pav bhaji was very oily. Wont recommend to anyone. Instead of eating here find a decent restaurant and you can have a full dinner at the same price.

Are you up for a calorie rich food in an over expensive restaurant? Great place then.chats are good, but not all.some snacks like paneer chilla and panner paratha are below average, neither tasty nor healthy.my kids say, that lassi was more sweeter than coca cola.one can ask, lassis are supposed to be sweet isn't it?

Had been to have snacks with my family. Ordered Masala puri, Samosa Chat, Kachori Chat, Bhel puri one each and 2 Dahi puri. For eo many items it closed me ₹804. They are too costly and also not that great in terms of taste. Also for the amount we pay, the quantity is too less

We ordered chole bhature and got only 1 bhatura in a plate which costed more then 200rs. Felt cheated, it should be mentioned in menu that only 1 pc will be served. Overpriced place.

This is my go to place to have any chaat items. The taste, food is outstanding and it lives up to expectations. A special mention on the hospitality, the service area is great and I can't thank Mr. Samir, who ensures that guests are not left unattended on their requests.

Dahi aloo chaat, chole bature, paani poori, jalebi rabdi is a must try!

Keep it up and looking forward to visit again!

Overcrowded. Pricing and food quality is average. The cooks are overwhelmed by the number of people in this place. Social distancing norms are a joke here

Serious hygiene issues - I have an upset stomach every time I have here. My tongue does not listen to my crying stomach.
Avoid. Go for Anand Sweets instead.

You can get more for free as prasad outside a temple. Jalebi is the thinnest and smallest you can find anywhere in the world. Samosa chat is NOT a chaat at all. If you order malpua, you do not get anything at all.

Slightly expensive but on overall due to the ambience, the service, hygiene, it is well worth the buck you pay.

Chaats are off the charts

Take away system is poor. Need to keep asking and they were confused. Supervisors were just standing rather than helping customers

I tried sweets and chaat, those are tasty. Good place for vegetarians, they served chaat without onion garlic but still that was tasty

They set up stall in our society and residents had a horrible experience after consuming their food. Many people including kids suffered food poisoning resulting into vomiting and loose motion. As the menu items were on the costly side we were expecting good quality but it was really pathetic quality of food. Not at all recommended. Stay away.

This brand does not care public health at all. Last weekend, they setup a stall at our apartment to sell their savouries & sweets. After eating their food, as many 40+ adults and children from the community fell sick. Most of them had stomach infection due to the food eaten at the stall. Needless to mention, they charged quite a premium for the food and gave the residents illness and anxiety in return. Worst food quality.

Great snacks. Very Helpful staff. I wanted a specific item which was not in the shelves. Pradeep went personally and checked in the van that had just arrived with fresh stock and got it for me!

Visited the place few days ago. Place is clean no doubt, but the chaats are not at all tasty. Have had better than this. The sweets are old stock tasted really bad.suffered food poisioning the next day horrible experience.

I felt it's over hyped, we visited this place only because Kripal Ammana reviewed this on his show, usually his reviews are best, this one wasn't for me and my frds.

We tried Sev Poori, Pani Poori, Masala Poori, Dahi Poori, Lachha Tokri and Pav Bhaji, best of the lot was Pav bhaji and biggest disappointment was Sev Poori (The best I have tasted in Bangalore is at Mishra Jayanagar and Gullu's).

Sweets were pathetic, I have a sweet tooth so I don't miss chance trying sweets wherever I go. Here, we tried Kesar Chum-chum, Pan Ladoo, and Motichur Ladoo. Chum-chum was a last piece left at the store and I wanted to try it so ordered, it tasted really bad. And very next day, Me and 3 of my friends fell ill with food poisoning.

Overall it was a horrible experience for all of us that day considering we went from Jayanagar to Indiranagar in that busy weekend traffic, not being satisfied with what we ate and falling ill for next 3 days.

Today I visited in Bhartiya Jalpan Indiranagar with my friend.what was an experiance, I took Chats like Chhole Bhature, Raj Kachori, Papdi chats, pani puri and Pav Bhaji, what a taste, fantastic and a great palace in the bangalore for chat, break fast and sweets. I recommends to visit this place.

Pay premium in a queue and then again stand in a queue with crowd competing in hight pitch voice match to get the orders only to find it's bland food showcased under spotlights. Just pathetic

I too had food poisoning.we eat chole batura and dahi mallah and Raj Kachori and Rabdi.next day we had food poisoning.pls guys be careful.serious food poisoning.

It's right up there for the best chats in Bangalore! I love their aloo tikki chat and samosa chats.
They have a pretty good outdoor and indoor seating as well.
4 star is only because of the price, if it was only for the taste and quality, I'd easily give 5 stars. I guess it's due the pandemic but hope the owners relook at that once the situation is back to normal.

Horrible experience with Bhartiya Jalpan. They had set up the food stalls in our apartment last Saturday. Almost all the folks fell sick (vomiting, stomach upset, food poisoning) who had food from the stalls, around 40+ folks. They got old and stale food items for clearance. Never expected from such a brand who has a big restaurant in HSR. Folks be careful and avoid this eatery!

I would rate the food as 3.5 as poori and bhature were a bit undercooked.

Perfect place for chat, is it little expensive but it is worth it. The best dishes are Bhujia Chilli Paratha and Raj Kachori.

Worst north indian food you could ask for.
Have given a try for most of the dishes hoping that sometime the restaurant might surprise us! But no, this place has maintained its standards to provide under rated food, not recommended atoll

I had ordered combo. The rice was dry and very hard to chew. The food was not even hot. I think they have mixed previous day left over rice to todays rice. Very bad.

Heavily crowded. Half the items in the menu are not available. Service was very poor. Food taste was very average. Rates are reasonable

If it's chaat in bangalore it has to be this place. Being from mumbai I have always wanted to find my goto place for street chaat and this is the one I can always bank on for my cravings. Everything is just perfectly yumm and to top it they have the ginger masala chai served in kullad.cannot be more perfect. I have tried all the chat items over 3 visits along with the chole bhature and parathas too.you should be rest assured all of it will enlighten your taste buds. End it with some thin and crispy jalebis served fresh. In this slight chilled weather in the evenings at around 6-8 we friends have enjoyed every bit of it.

Not sure how many times I would have tried this place but everytime I do it makes me crazy and lure to try more and more. Being the one who was raised in North India I used to always crib about how there is no option in Bangalore to have chaats or birth indian breakfast. This place is exact replica of Haldirams not only in regard to their offerings but also tastewise which is like getting home food at hostel. It's almost impossible to list down what's worth trying and which are the best ones but surely few stuff like aloo pyaz Parantha, matar kachori, badam milk, club kachori, jhalmudi, papdi chaat n the bestest of them all is moong dal halwa. I am not huge fan of sweets but moong halwa was so good that I don't think I had such an amazing halwa up north as well. Lastly their ambience is amazing which is way to classy considering the place which specialises in chaat n related items. This place just can't be missed!

Very average food. Only advantage is location (right on main road in Indiranagar) and that it is open early. Would recommend any of Bangalore's dosa camps instead.

The ambiance is ok ok.as soon as you enter you'll feel like you've entered in a avg budget North Indian wedding. Then there is the hallway which is obviously a hotel turned into restaurant. Food wise chaats are good. I ordered RajKachori, which was good not great. Then we ordered chhole-bhature which were great. Then we ordered Achari soya chap, which was depressing. After that we ordered Paneer combo and we regret that. Gulab jamun was worst. Rasmalai was small but delicious but not great. And at last we ordered Kesar-kadha-milk which was amazing.

Authentic Punjabi food with neat environs with AC, Non-AC and open to sky self service and on order. Variety of delicious sweets to cater to the sweet tooths with pleasant staff members. One of the oldest establishment too with a loyal customer base.

This place is a boon for people who crave for North Indian chat items. Have been visiting this place since years now and everytime the experience has been very good. Really loved the ginger chai, chole bhature & samosa chat

Loved the dhoklas, gobhi Manchuri and their kulchas. Very hygienic joint. Super fast service and tasty North Indian food.

The taste of food here is very good. If you visit here take any product with Dahi (curd). It will be amazing. They have chats also they have very good option in sweet. You might feel bit expensive. But the joy you get will not stand beside that. Suggesting anyone to visit. Two wheeler is better. You have little place to park. If you are on car you have to park on the road side.

The food is good here and it used to be significantly cheaper a while ago. Now it has become way too overpriced to enjoy street food items as street food!

When we reached at 9.30pm and inquired about chat items the waiter said nothing was available that during diwale holidays then we asked him what is available he called up the manager he was sorry but that doesnt take away the pains we had to suffer driving 8 kms.the parathad ordered were not upto the mark and not value for money.

I had bad experience. Food wasn't bad. But the service was awful. Unfortunately, the place doesn't attract the best crowd either.

Best place to eat chat items. Chhole Bature, club Kachori and Mutter Puri are best options for breakfast. Good ambiance.

Very nice place to hang out for Indian snacks. There is a self service section and a different order serving section. Place is grand in its own way, has lot of food variety. The issue was with the availability of certain chat items. It is not fare to put items in menu and then simply say 5-6 items out of it are not available. Also, thali had variety but taste was not upto the mark.

Only chat section is good. Shahi Thali and Three course meal are not worth ordering. All sweets mentioned in the menu are not available. The captain who took our order of sweet, came at the end of our meal notifying that the sweet we ordered is not available. Such a pity at a place which has been rated high by prior customers. I felt cheated.
