Wonderful place with beautiful views from top One day outing from Bangalore. Rangaswamy Temple is located on top. From checkpost, it's 7-8 kms. Last 4 kms is off road driving Worth visiting this place Calm and greenary. View from top is amazing. Temple and two view points are there to visit. It's informed that temple opens only on Saturday. Gate opens 9am onwards
One of the best place to visit from Bangalore.temple is 7 to 8km from checkpost, the gate will be closed and no human being is found at entrance expect security.security will tell it's dangerous to as elephants are there and ask some 100 rs.once u reach top you will find humans.while going u feel like going back as u fine none but don't go back.not suggested for solo rides.once u reach top.good temple and view poin at same place.temple opens only on sat and sunday
The top provide a beautiful view. Things to know before going.
1. There is a forest check post that closes around 4 pm depending on crowd, rain prediction etc. 2. You have to enter your bike/car details and phone number before moving forward. 3. The last 4 km from the check post is completely off road with a bit difficult terrain to ride. 4. If you are a new rider please don't go.
Place is amazing after reaching the top we feel wow and we just need to experience that moment, good off-road experience, at entrance security guard will demand 100 to enter rest 2 km off-road experience is amazing if lucky can see elephants, no drinking water, restroom facilities available prepare in advance.
A must visit weekend place, filled with fog and scenic views. An off-roading paradise for bikers, a car could reach the top but it's difficult while coming back due to rocks and gravel. Highly suggest you reach the place by 7-8 in the morning for the best weather.
The place is beautiful. It's an off-road drive uphill. The last 4km road is very bad, even for bikers. It is steep at places with large gorges in between. Don't even consider during rainy days. The view points are awesome though. There's a checkpost just before you start the climb. Don't forget to collect the phone number of the check post guy. Coz he locks the gate in case he needs to relieve himself. He takes some money too. Not sure if that's even govt approved. The TEMPLE is OPEN ONLY ON SATURDAY.
Visited on 20-Dec-2020, from check point temple located exact 4KM and next 1 KM any car will go and after that 1 spot where need to drive at own risk we walked from this place to temple it's exactly 3km we took 90 Min to up and down. All 2 wheeler will go easily.
Went on Saturday at 10am. Path to BR betta is barricaded and security asked everyone to take another path that diverges to Sri Govina Kallu Anjaneya Swamy Temple nearby. BR betta may be closed on Saturdays also. Nevertheless the small temple nearby is worthy. Through not-so-tough off-road for 2KM you can bike ride. Has good view.
Brilliant weekend gateway from blr, around 65-75 km from Bangalore, picturesque greenary, fresh and cool breeze, ranga swamy temple, valley view point are points worth mentioning. Takes 2 hr drive, last 4.5 km offroading experience is good, highly recommended to have in your list! Lucky to meet family who worship deity and take care of temple told that no one knows who has carved the lord ranga swamy on hill stone, they have been worshipping for 200 years, at times large number of elephants were seen here some 10 years back but now they don't vome due to more human crowd coming for visiting, also there is legacy old woman saint used to take of temple who was guarded by tiger.
Awesome ride from the entry gate it's a 4 km off-road. Bike and SUVwith high ground clearance after preferred. Sept to Dec most preferable time to visit.
The gate opens at 9am Do not try to trespass as they are procted with electric fence.
To reach here you can either go by vehicle or trek to the top, if you plan to take your vehicle then you should be prepared for a thrill packed off-roading. Place is decent with a decent view.
Gates open at around 9 30am, and you enter into thick forest. After that off road trail for a couple of km, which is a good challenge. Then you reach the top where you have a temple, views and white rocks. Not too many visitors. The area is a wildlife area, elephants are common.
