Bimba The Art Ashram

Bimba has a very special place in my heart. The people are so loving and nurturing. And you can see the humility and surrender to Mother Earth when you look around this space. There is so much love they pour in to everything they do. I am always amazed at the work that goes on here. The calming surroundings, blessed by Mother Earth, slows down your mind and breath. Whenever I visit, I come back rejuvenated and happy. If you visit once, you will keep visiting this beautiful space.

Bimba The Art Hut in the central building is a treasure house of art - beauty that enhances life is handcrafted by the founder in small studio spaces around this structure which itself was built over 108 years ago. Earth sensitive lifestyle practise can be carried home in the form of attire, furniture, furnishing artefacts etc.

Really loved the pavades (skirts) tops, kurthas from here.
Also bought some murals from here and the whole look of the wall changed. Very aesthetic. Must visit and take these unique ones home.

We got the mirror 5 months ago and it's already falling off. They have applied a very poor quality of glue! It's very pathetic to see such low quality items with such a high price. Not worth the money.

The Astrologer Madhu Dixit ji, is really good and suggest simple remedy even a middle class person can afford to do.

It's a beautiful place. I loved the calm and peaceful ambience. There are at works crafts and clothes exhibited which is available to buy also. Everything hand crafted and mostly ethnic. The wonder is behind this the real peace world, kind of an Ashram. They are conducting some shows every Saturday evening 6.30 which I'm sure will be wonderful.

This place is something amazing and a must visit for every art lover in Bengaluru. Its more like a second home to me. I've been there practiced and played puppetry there

I attended their performance of AMBA BYAVANI and I felt it a very deep experiential event. Deepika Dorai is indeed a gifted artiste. She showed an exquisite talent in bringing the poetic feelings of Shyamala Shastri to the stage. Thank you madam for this heavenly evening.

First time when I was here, my friend had took me there. I wasn't aware of this one before. But after I visited, I wish I had known it earlier.

The 2 nicest people here, Deepika and Deepak will make you feel warm with their charisma and positivity and the politeness. Thanks to them.

I would say my experience at bimba has been great. Fabulous. It's a 110+ year old heritage hut where you will find some old and I would say endangered art forms.

Everything, when I say everything, it's everything which is handmade with utmost love by Deepika, who is one of the owners of this art hut.

You can buy handwoven Kurtis, kurta and dupattas and handmade earrings, and chain and earrings sets which are marvellous and wooden bangles.

There are some unique wooden dolls, terracotta materials, which are again handmade.

You can purchase Gauri and Ganesha idols here. You can pre book them.

You can even take part in Rasaloka which happens each Saturday in the evening to experience peace.

I would recommend you all to visit this once and make yourself feel good.

I discovered this place in December 2017 and I feel it is a magnificent place for art lovers. The place itself is 108 years old. In Bimba everything is made by the founder artist Deepika Dorai. So if you are buying something from Bimba there is something special in it and you can feel it (I feel it, it's my personal experience). It is run by two wonderful people, when I talked to them I got to know the difference between art and craft. They explained how each one of us can grow earth sensitivity by making lifestyle changes. This way I understood that there can be no beauty without sensitivity. Till now I have attended rasalok (solo still theatre) 5 times, looking forward to many more. Every Saturday at 6: 30pm anyone can go and enjoy the show.
