Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary

Beautiful place for nature lovers and hikers. We visited chomakund, which comes in the Brahmagiri wildlife sanctuary. Chomakund is a less Visited place, as of now the place is neat and clean it is near to Chelavara Falls, Virajpete, Madikeri.

We reached there about 2.00 pm after so many guesses. No body to guide. Seems to be " not a popular place. " Disappointed to find that the water falls is dry. Should b stong hearted to explore. Journey left us with bad experience. One should not rely on GPS, whis is musguiding

It is an amazing place for travellers. There is a ghat road through the dense forest. This road is connecting Kerala and Karnataka states. The climate also really good everytime.

A natural preserve with lush green vegetation, water streams, waterfalls, and with rich flora and fauna includes elephants, deers, snakes, butterflies etc.

The river Brahma giri flows through this sanctuary and it was named after its highest peak Brahma giri. Spanning around 200km radius, a perfect outing for nature lovers and can spend for half a day with family and friends.

It is 250 km away from bengaluru, 80 km from madikeri and 55 km away from Virajpet. It is home for iruppu and Chevalara waterfalls.

Pls donot litter the Natural preserves and pls carry back your plastic and other wastes ina bag or bottle and dispose off properly. Thank you.

Must go place in Coorg. Tadianmol peak it is. You can opt for trekking or jeep/magic will drop you to the check point. From there you have to trek for around 3 KM's.but the view is amazing.non tourist place.so will be less crowded.

A humoungous wildlife sanctuary which houses the breathtaking Tadiandamol mountians. Tadiandamol trek is a moderate trek enjoyable with a group of friends or even solo for the adventure seeker. Lush green shola forests teeming with wildlife. Must visit destination in coorg.

So if any one have the mad in photography and nature I prefer this place.especially for young people who exploring the blue earth.

The nature at it's best. Cold water cold breeze whatelse do you want.a summer getaway I can say. Loved the weather and the santuary. Birds chirping and animals squeaking can be heard from miles before. One of the most beautiful places not known much to the world

A) Garbage free
B) Unspoilt landscape
C) Excellent roads

Cons
A) Too many restrictions by the forest department. Be prepared to be sent back after traveling all the way
B) Commercialization has set in with many houses or estates offering homestay

Mobile signal is poor including BSNL

It’s ok kind of place.good for trekking but no eateries around.also phone signals were a problem too.but one time go kind of place.

Neat & clean. Beautiful nature. Waterfall. Very rare Violet colour butterflies can be seen here. Life time experience. Easy climb upto top where there is a waterfall.

Must visit. Their is a jungle trek available the place is closed from February to April every year for the safari

Amazing place. You just wanna explore more and more of this. Can't get enough.and you can't leave the place. Early morning/late evenings are recommended for sightings

WOnderful feeling with nature. We had been for a weekend trip. There is trekking, Wildlife sanctuary. The hills are so evergreen u will fall in love the moment u see them. For wildlife i suggest you to go early morning as u will be lucky to see more animals in this time

Awesome place for people who love trekking, plastics things not allowed inside forest, that strict maintainance gives amazing environment for the wild animals. Food and phone signal (except BSNL) is also a big problem.

Excellent flora and fauna. Great place to trek provided it's early morning. Be sure to end the trek by 9am else it gets very hot.

We were lucky to have clear skies the view from the Balyayrey were excellent.

We hiked from Tamara Coorg and upwards so the round trip was shorter.

The gradients were medium but loose stones made the trek a bit challenging. Only a short path has tree cover else most of the path is barren.

Nothing to see. You have to walk 1 km. There is no water in the falls and it is very small. Place is crowded cramped and not clean. Won't recommend.

It's a lost point and had dense forest it is a border of karnataka which is shared by Kerala it's most exited experience

One of the beUtiful places to trek. Be careful and cautious becUse there are elephants actively roaming around. Before you enter the forest at the checkpost enquire twice weather elephants are there in the region currently. Make sure you go in groups and also be aware for any sounds on the way to avoid elephants. The area is also tiger reserve. Start the reek early by 7 am in the morning you will reach to the peak by 9 after. Or else after 11 it is too hot you cannot climb the hill.pack some cakes and snacks and a good amount of water with you. It is worth all this risk because it is a lifetime.e experience to view this beautiful hidden secret of nature.

Brahmagiri wild life sanctuary is the reserve forest of Karnataka. Access from Kerala side is the Iritty (Kannur District) Virajpetta route. The Sanctuary bigin from Koottupuzha itself. Evergreen thick forest and it's habitats are the main attraction. River Barapole is flowing through this sanctuary.
