I would say it's overhyped. Nothing extraordinary. The food that is served is simple and hygienic. I feel the prices are a little over the top. Rs. 20/- for a single idli seems too much for someone who's brought up eating idlis. None the less the place is decent and can be visited of you are someone new to the place. But the food the similar to what you may enjoy at any humble hotel anywhere in Bangalore.
One of the best Breakfast points in Bangalore. Idli just melts in the mouth, crispy Vada with chutney is best. Kaseri bhat was okish. Don't forget to order filter coffee
Verities are less and the idli vada, upittu or other dishes are in no way different than other budget outlets like "by2 coffee", "vv puram food street food". Definitely points for offering clean food to their customers. Good for both elderly people & kids alike.
First time I have been here. I was aware that this an eminent place but I was expecting something similar to MTR. I can see many things are similar incl.food between By2Coffee and this place. Limited menu items. Overall good place to taste authentic south food.
While food is excellent, it's self service. Atmosphere is " stand and eat" on the footpath. Those who value quality food come there without looking for service and ambience
Great place to from simply yet lip smacking south Indian fare. They have only limited items but everything they have is good. The best was the chow chow baath for me
One of the classics of Bangalore to have the authentic idly vada with coffee. And of course the amazing kesari bath. That's the main attraction and is really good. But the downside is - Weird timings: 6-11 am and 4-7pm. That seriously doesn't make any sense and it's very difficult to get here. Overpriced - You can find similar tasting food in places like Taaza Thindi and many other places at much better prices.
Recently visited this famous legendary restaurant for its famous breakfast. I had tried their legendary coffee and I was immersed in its taste. The coffee preparation section and the style of the master in preparing was really nice. Do visit here for tasty breakfast and strong coffee you will not be disappointed.
Since I live in shankarpurum, this is our favorite eatery, even though you may feel it is little bit expensive, the food is too good and coffee is very good, do not miss it.
Had butter idlis, vada and kesari baath. 2 idlis with butter cost Rs. 48. One crisp vada costs Rs. 28 and the kesari costs Rs. 28.
The peculiarity about this restaurant is that only chutney is available. There is no sambar. One does not really miss it. The chutney is very tasty and has enough condiments. It is coriander coconut chutney. The kesari was very sweet and tasty.
If we go early, parking the car is not an issue. But it has to be parked on nearby streets.
One of the best coffee outlet I have visited in Bangalore. They have no sitting area. Authentic filter coffee prepared using copper vessels. Taste was just awesome. Even the breakfast tastes good. Overall a good experience. You must give a try here.
Over hyped place. Not worth the money you pay. Rs 28 per upma had just 3 spoons quantity Idlis also too costly and size too small. For a place where there is self service it is too costly. Don't visit and waste your money and time here
One of the legendary eateries in bangalore. The soft idlys and crispy vada with chutney are mouthwatering. Have some khara and kesari bath to top it off, both being delicious too and end it all with an excellently prepared filter coffee. An authentic South Indian experience. Stand an eat. All this food for 150/- only. An Absolute must try!
Amazing place for Authentic Idly, Vade, Kesari Bhath, Khara Bhath. Coffee is Heavenly. My day is incomplete without a Visit to Brahmins Coffee Bar. I would give them a 10000 Stars
I have been eating here since my childhood consistency and quality of the product they sell are very hoog and very limited menu one will get ildi, kara bath or upma, Kesari bath, vade, coffee
Yummy food at affordable price. Awesome idly & upma served with superb chutney. Delicious kesari bath and coffee. Ample space for parking. Very near to uma theatre.
I liked the hygiene and cleanness. They hv maintained the legacy. Place is nice. But I felt price is too high according to quality. Quality is good but that doesn't mean they provide gold to eat. They serve Idly only with chutney. No sambar or anything. Still price is. No doubt they give good quality, but I feel they can maintain a decent price. I don't think that will cause them lose.
It is one of the legendary eateries of Bengaluru. Simple menu - Idli, Vada, Kesari & Kara bath. Tried the Idli + Vada combo. Idli was soft and tasted good with the Chutney. Vada was super crispy and the tasted perfect You get unlimited chutney so you can literally soak your Idli in it and have. Better to go around 8AM if you are planning a weekend breakfast. It gets crowded more after 8: 30AM. There are small tables outside the restaurant where you can stand and eat. No worries, you can even hold the plate in hand and finish it standing outside. Must visit place for a simple but awesome breakfast.
Too costly for the dishes we got. I felt it is NOT worth money spent, though this outfit has name. Earlier I used to get satisfied with quality, cost and time. But now I feel ha has fallen trap to making money.
A unique experience where they serve idlis with chutney only! And you'll be lucky if you can get through the rush in less than 15 minutes of waiting.it's a small place, please don't expect any seatings or fancy ambience. Just a typical Bangalore restaurant!
One of the best places for good authentic South Indian food and an iconic place in Bangalore. A must visit for anyone coming to Bangalore for their first or hundredth time.
Good, but taste of chutney is little bit on -ve side, overall the taste of last century is not compatible with the present Visited after 25 years, the charm is lacking, earlier we don't have pay upfront, it is in his memory double/single Any way I enjoyed stomach full did hv lunch
We have always made a point that when ever we visit banglore, 1st thing is to visit brahmins cafe. They have limited items. We ate idly, vada and coffee. Everything was super fresh.
One of the oldest places serving delicious food has been one of the centres in the old bangalore area. Famous for vada idli kesatibaath karabaath tea and coffee the place attracts a lot of visitors. Earlier set up in a small Room the place has expanded in space with the old set up almost intact. Go have a good time at one of the oldest eateries in bangalore. Be a part of the old bangalore tradition.
Nostalgic feels every time i visit this place. The idli and vada are simply amazing. Paired together with that chutney, takes you to a gastronomic extravagance. Finish your meal with their coffee and it's a day well spent.
Limited menu but everything tastes really good. One of the oldest & famous food and coffee joint in Bangalore. It became like a heritage building. Soft idli and crispy vada with chutney is famous here.
If you are looking for a quick snack and some strong coffee. You have landed in the right place. Very famous for coffee. There is no sitting place. You have to stand and eat (maybe due to COVID measures). Should try the coffee there atleast once if you stay or visit bangalore.
It is excellent place to eat idali Vada Chatni and Coffee after that. Such a light Idali and tasty Vada. Great place to eat if anybody ready to eat standing.
Very nice experience. When I went to order an additional item the cashiers were very friendly to say that I could pay later when they saw that I had a plate in my hand.
I am visiting since 1995, idli and vada with iconic chutteny very taste, maintained since many years. Vada will be very crispy mouth watering. I like kharabath and kesari bath. Though it's self service, staff is active and polite. Greatest hurdles is parking.
Most popular fast food joint. For authentic pure South Indian tasty break fast & snacks this is the best place. Located near Shankar mutt & bull temple road. Try it out I am sure you will like it.
After corona period, I visited first time and quantity has been reduced in both in Idli (bit smaller than earlier) and in Kharabhat too. They compromised Quality in Coffee, that shouldn't be. However, far far better than normal Darshini cafe.
The best Idli and Chutney in town. Only 4 items of the menu. Idli, Vada, Kara Bath (upma) and Kesari Bath.but each one of these menu items are top notch.
Idli vada very nice and less price. Small place and many people, so considering Covid, bit risky. Otherwise perfect for a reasonable and tasty breakfast on the way to work.
Taste - yumm, prices - yummies. A no nonsense menu absolutely. They just serve idli, vada, kesari bath and rawa bath with tea coffee. And every thing is amazing. Hardly any queue and place to stand and eat on tables.
Was checking for early morning Breakfast in Bangalore and this place came to our notice.reached the place before 6 as it opens at that time. And it opened exact at 6
Parking- available nearby. But if u will have to move 200 to 300 meters left or right to find one. 2 wheelers will find the parking easily.
Directions- easily available on maps
Timing- starts at 6 am
Things to know- reach the place by 6 am. There is no seating option available so they have tables outside where you will need to stand and have. They accept payments through Paytm.
What to order- this place is famous for breakfast and it serves items like idly, vada, kesari bath etc. Idly and vada is a must try as it was really tasty and crispy. White Chutney was delicious with the idly vada. Filter coffee was not up to the mark and needs improvement.
Cost- it is pretty reasonable and u will not have complaints
Ambience- not a great one but decent enough and spacious.
Service- service is also pretty decent.
Overall a must place to visit if u r in Bangalore and looking for some early morning breakfast.
Another traditional joint. Clean, minimalistic, yummy and pocket friendly! Limited menu but you when you get such food you don't need too many options. As I always say, you've to be at the place to experience it.
Undoubtedly the Food is good in taste as well as quality. They maintain a strict timing schedule & no food is served once the time is over. Quantity is not much, & there is a crowd most of the times. Yes the shop has been there for a long time & very much loved by the residents in the area. For many of the nearby residents it a part of their routine to have a coffee or idly here. I liked the food but i am disappointed in the quantity served. But this comment is met with a justification from most people near the BCB that in these times of rising costs the quantity is compromised for quality, but i dont agree on that!
