Got a live worm in the sambaar that came with omelette pothichoru. Their cooking area is filthy, I hope they shut this restaurant down, its a health hazard.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Calicut, located on MSR College Road in Bengaluru, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The restaurant offers a delightful combination of friendly staff, quality food, and generous portions that left me thoroughly satisfied.
One of the standout aspects of Calicut is its warm and welcoming staff. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with genuine smiles and prompt service. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu.
When it comes to the food, Calicut certainly knows how to impress. The quality of the dishes served here is truly remarkable. The Kerala meals, in particular, are top-notch and showcase the authentic flavors of Kerala cuisine. The traditional Puttu and Beef combination is an absolute delight, with tender, well-cooked beef perfectly complementing the light and fluffy Puttu. This mouth-watering combination is a must-try for any food enthusiast.
Another dish that caught my attention was the Kappa with Beef. The combination of tapioca (kappa) and flavorful beef creates a unique and delicious taste. The tender chunks of beef blend perfectly with the soft and subtly flavored kappa, resulting in a truly memorable culinary experience. I highly recommend giving this dish a try during your visit to Calicut.
However, it's important to note that parking can be a challenge near Calicut. Due to its popularity and limited parking spaces in the vicinity, finding a spot for your vehicle might require some effort and patience.
Overall, Calicut on MSR College Road in Bengaluru is a gem of a restaurant. The friendly staff, quality food, and generous portions make for a delightful dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Kerala cuisine or simply looking to explore new flavors, Calicut is definitely worth a visit. Just remember to plan ahead for parking to ensure a hassle-free experience.
Worst experiance. Price is too hight and look at the quantity. Pathetic I don't know what else to say. Boss there are far better jobs than cheating someone like this.
Best place in the locality, pocket friendly, great taste amount all the other restaurants with Kerala cuisine. Must try. Chicken pepper masala, Kerala parota and crab kebab
Nice Kerala style food. Their aappam and puttu is very nice. You can have instant made food from there. I tried more than 5 times with different dishes and all are good.
Visited this place after lockdown. Food was pathetic and the prices were increased like anything. We have ordered squid and it wasn't cooked well. Only relief was the Kerala porotta which was good. Please avoid going to this place.
This was my first and, definetely last experience. If you want to see a cat, they'll show you a dog, and then very politely they argue that it is the real cat you asked for, and if you say it is not a cat, they will argue you that you are wrong. Yesterday I went to this hotel for dinner, i ordered beef fry and wheat porata. They drained me a beef curry and said, "This is beef fry. Anyone who has eaten beef fry in Kerala, will not accept that they served real beef fry. When I went there with the desire to eat porata and beef fry, they told me brilliantly that they were served real beef fry. Very cleverly they made me stupid and i didnt get what i wanted, and i lost my money too. I never recommended to anyone for Calicut restaurant.
Good for breakfast food. Malabar style curries are the highlight. Conventional dosais and roasts are also available.
Enjoy the food at a better ambience. The wall of the restaurant is painted with the history of Calicut, the place in Kerala by which the restaurant itself is named after.
The restaurant has an open kitchen, you are always welcome to watch your order being cooked.
Various Kerala style lunch is also available with chicken and fish biriyani on the menu. Fish fry meals is also available.
There are a lot of places nearby but only Calicut has maintained the quality and taste in the last five years I have been eating here. Morning masala dosa, appam egg roast are amazing. Biriyani is really tasty and so is all their chicken main courses
Kerala Parathas to Biriyani. Hell yeah. This is good place. High rushing people, corner place near MS Ramaiah. Very quick serve. But loads of Tasty Mixture is added. You feel full in one serving.
The place serves reasonably good kerala food. I have tried Appam, kerala porota and putt along with beef varattiyath and prawns masala. Prawns masala was too spicy and beef was not exceptionally tastey but altogether they gave an okayish experience. The ambience there is of a small eatery and it's not a place where you can have a formal date or something but you can visit the place for food. It worth going there and trying out the kerala food there.
Once I ordered a Butter Chicken and it was fluorescent orange in colour. For a day, it seemed like I had put mehndi. But their Kerala cuisines are just delights.
The last time we went there it was a disappointment. This time it was different! The biriyani was simply amazing. The chicken lolipop was great and appams were good too. Even the lime juice and lime tea was extra good. I'll definitely be coming back here.
Good food, reasonable prices and you'll love it if you're mallu. Traditional Kerala dishes all over the menu. Well mannered staff and great taste. Even if you're not a mallu, check it out.
The hotel is also an attraction for the Malayalees living in Bangalore. For those who love to eat delicious food, it's a good place for those who love a good biryani. This hotel is good for a meal together with family and friends.
