If you haven't driven a car or ridden a bike in Charmadi and shiradi ghat, then believe me, you will never know what you have missed. These roads and ghats of western ghats are just perfect, nothing more needed. You come across waterfalls, mountains, fog, and temples.
A picturesque location awaits those who seek the mesmerizing allure of Charmadi. With verdant hills enveloping the surroundings and a breathtaking road cutting through this mountainous pass, it becomes an idyllic haven for nature enthusiasts. Prior to pausing at this spot, ensure you find ample parking space to prevent any potential traffic congestion.
Most beautiful place. Must visit in monsoon time. How many times you visit this place, it never gets bored. That road with fog is just wow. One must visit this place to experience this. Best time to visit when it starts raining where you can see many falls and beautiful view of hill.
We crossed this ghat section in the early morning time and trust me it was no less than a ride of hell, though the scenery here is beautiful as heaven. Be careful while driving, even expert drivers fail here when driving, as there are at least 12-15 hair pin bend curves and all time traffic is high making it a plus point in case of any vehicle break down.
The highway authorities are working on the land slided section at every 10 km making the road very narrow such that only one vehicle can pass at a time.
In conclusion- Make sure that you cross this section of around 50 km during day time as the place is filled with fog and mist during night time and early morning times. A very expert driver is recommended to drive your vehicle.
It's a one of the most beautiful hill in Karnataka. It's have most beautiful scenery in rainy season and also have dangerous roadways, so need more careful while driving. It is a best place for tourists and good choice for treking lovers. While traveling scattered water flows over the hill it is the best experience to see that in early morning.
It was heavy rain on those days! Earth Sliding on that Day! Nature Lovers & Travelers should take care when they traveling at Charmadi Ghats during Rainy season!
It's one of the most beautiful ghat section I have seen. However, the road is not usually in a good condition, so need to be very careful while driving here, but the views at many places at sunset is breathtaking.
This place is beautiful in the rainy season Fog, chills and beautiful way towards Mangalore, Dharmasthala, Kukke. The drive in the rains is beautiful Only problem is if there's a landslide you'll have to wait for 4-5 hours min other than that ️
The road trip heading from mangalore to chikmangalore was more exciting for us. Though it took 5-6 hours of driving we were enjoying the trip at its best, coz a good part of journey was through a forest. Thanks to countless number of trees over there, they never let break us down, they were overwhelming us with fresh and pure oxygen.yes you will b getting fresh oxygen and u will b feeling the serinity of forest and seeing sooo many monkeys and few other animals there and nothing else.and you wont be able to use your phone also.coz trees cannot provide wifee (no network for jio, idea vodaphone, no idea about bsnl)
It's Just A Very Nice Place! Wow! Beautiful! Mountains! Valleys! Forest! Waterfalls by road side! Clouds below and above! Great place to pass by!
Summer is not the good time to visit as you will see only dry grass and trees. During rainy season you may not see anything as clouds cover the entire region. But winter seems to be the best season to visit.
You will see green everywhere. Experience cool breeze. Waterfalls too. If the fog is very little, you can get great views. But if the fog is too much, you may not see anything.
It's Mangalore to Chikmagalur highway. The roads are very good and excellent to drive.
Very steep but scenically best view comes after the hardest steps, the spring water awesome with added minerals from nature, better than any bottled one, u can dring directly
One of the soothing roads to drive during mansoon. Avoid night traveling through this route, by doing so not only you will take care of your safety but also you will enjoy your ride.
