Chez Christophe Gokarna since 2010

We had a wonderful time Chez Christophe.

I was wondering how could the French food be authentic, so far away from France and in a small town such as Gokarna.
The restaurant food is a testament to their owner. Very good options, impressive Gratin Dauphinois. Good sauce à la normande and even Poire Belle Hélène for dessert.
Even the bread is home made, French style.
Bravo to the chefs.

The mood is nice, with long day beds to dine in. Lights were also thought out.

We'll be back.

Quality of food was awesome. The waiter messed up our order, possibly because it was his first day in the job. But Adrian the owner quickly covered up the faux pas and offered us sandwiches on the house. We finally ordered the Normandy Chicken, Baked Vegetables and profiteroles. And all the dishes were yummy

It's so wonderful here. The food is marvelous. I cannot understand why anyone would not give 5 stars.

The food was so bad, there was a bitter aftertaste and Ratatouille was so horrible and the lasagna wasn't any better awful awful

Nice ambience. Food was tasty, but took a lot of time to get it. They charged 600 for cocktail, I feel that is too much.

I had a greek salad with feta cheese (which was actually feta and not extra salty paneer) the dressing was good, free bread on the side was nice too.

Carrot-tomato juice was good but needed to lay off a little from the ice it was diluted.

Overall one of the best meals i had in gokarna.

Amazing experience. Loved the time spent there. Their ambiance is all made out of nature. No plastic at all. They take minimum 20-30 mins to prepare your order but the wait will be worth it because they serve authentic french cousine.

Absolutely superb little magic cavern, so cosy and vibrant. Food was delicious, so rare to find Western food done so well, and the people are easygoing and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Great place to spend time. But if you are looking to have food then you atleast at the wrong place. You only get sides with you drinks.

Never miss this place when you're in gokarna. Don't expect any Indian food. Drinks (alcohol) will be available. If you love French cuisine then itself the bestest place for you. But you have to visit the place to vibe it. Dj will be available till 11pm. Their pastries are a must-try and their coffee is exceptional. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is excellent. Highly recommended!

Great vibe and lovely ambience. We went around sunset and it looked absolutely gorgeous. We went just for dessert and the mango melba was yumm. The mangoes were really fresh considering the early mango season. The service was prompt and we had a nice conversation with the owner Adrian. I wish to visit sometime during the season. They apparently have live music on the weekends.
To reach here you can either walk 700m or so from on the main gokarna beach or park your vehicle on the backside and walk through the fields and come. That must be a 5-10 min walk.

Don't come here worst place and prices are dammm high evrything is worst
Services also worst they didn't knew our language

Ambience is really nice.

Tried vegetarian dishes. Food was good but few items had lot of cheese (should be expected as it's French Cafe)

Maybe the worst hospitality and customer engagement that I've seen at a restaurant. We were told that the restaurant is full but I was able to see good amount of free table space that can be occupied. This seems to be unfair and I think we might be denied due to some unfair reasons. However the food and ambience maybe, hospitality is the first thing that a restaurant should prioritise and I wouldn't recommend this for this sole reason.

Good place to hang out in gokarna and the service was nice, mainly the dishes of the day in the menu and nice atmosphere in the evening

The food is good by not the best as far as cafes are concerned. Surely not worth the price. We ordered 7 different dishes are atleast 3 of them tasted exact same. In addition they charged extra 25 percent in the name of inflation.

Pathetic experience overall. We ordered ham bacon sandwich but ham and bacon wasn’t there. They replaced it with chicken in same charge. They didn’t had ice cubes for drinks. The breads along with pasta was so hard that my teeth started to hurt after eating one piece. The only good things we had was hot chocolate. The place was having nice ambience and beach vibe. That’s it. Just go for vibe not for food.

Do yourself a favour and visit this cafe when you visit gokarna. The staff truly cares about your experience. Amazing food. Ambiance is very welcoming and charming.

It's all about vibe and here is the place to have one. What an amazing dine in we experienced with the good music that we had to step out of our seats to have some moves. Lovely and cheerful staff. This place will make you stick around your seat and not wanna leave Thanks Christophe Gokarna!

According to everyone the cafe is difficult to find, but fortunately it was a 5 min walk through the beach from my resort. It has a cool vibe with French music in the background. The hospitality was so good that they really cared to stop by and talk to each of the customers. A plate of cheeselings was served as a welcome dish to munch on while you figure out which dish to order. The plating was awesome and the food was so good.

Brilliant, beautifully plated, delicious, authentic French dishes! Lovely people and service and the entire cafe is so uniquely furnished which makes the entire experience all the more wholesome! Definitely a must visit at Gokarna!

An amazing place right on the beach to unwind, relax, listen to serene music all while enjoying the scrumptious food. The friendly staff and authentic French food is a must visit when in Gokarna.

This restaurant has a very good ambience. Its situated on the beach. Its best to visit at night. Among the food you can try white sauce prawns pasta, vegetable pasta, and the rest were not that good. But the staff were too friendly.

We spent a wonderful evening at this restobar. We came via road and since it was dark we were not so sure of the way to restaurant which is on the shore.we called the restaurant to guide us and within minutes they sent a few locals who promptly guided us to the place. They had our hearts right then for customer service. The ambience is simply beautiful. Donita gave us company, recommended the best dishes to try and the best sightseeing places to visit in Gokarna as well.she made us feel righ at home with her sweet nature and hospitality. We ordered some drinks, chicken Normandy and some dish with king fish (don't recall the name) but both were delicious. The recommended dessert was their profiteroles but I must say you cannot leave this place without trying their creme brulee. Hats off to their pastry chef. The order took a while but we had such pleasant hosts for company that we didn't mind. Oh and we went there with a pet and we're absolutely comfortable the whole while we were there. Thank you Christophe and team!

We have ordered white sauce pasta and sandwich mediterranean. Both were good.
Found it difficult to understand the menu.
We had tried lemon juice. I strongly recommend not to try it. It was really strong. Didn't like the taste.

Food was quite good. Tasted a bit different for Indian pallet probably because all the ingredients are organic and authentic. Deserts you can give a miss but food is a must try if you are ready to experiment with your food taste!:)

Cafe is owned by a French guy. Charged us an entry fee of 50 per head for no reason. Looked like this applied only to Indians.
We ordered Potato Bravia along with lemon soda and juice. All three didn't taste very good. Entrees are for 300, juices 100 and main course 500.
Definitely not a place for vegetarians, they hardly had any vegetarian dish, except 2.

However, ambience and decor is very hippie and cool.

This restaurant is one of the best restaurants in GoKarna! A must visit if you are a foodie! It’s a French cafe, by the beach side with good menu options and desserts. Getting there can be a challenge if you are going for the first time. The ambience is good. The day I visited there was live music playing! The waiters here are very courteous and ready to help all time, with updates about chefs special for the day! I will be definitely go back there again, next time I visit GoKarna! I recommend this place.

They greet you with a Bonjour when you arrive. The menu is in English with French headings. Music and ambiance was fantastic, a very chilled out place where you feel relaxed. The service was excellent. We came for a very late breakfast which we could not get. However, we got a Quiche Lorraine which tasted really good. The salad had a nice yellow mustard dressing and the Americano coffee was strong and good. Bathroom was clean, and has toilet paper and an open sky:) this was a refreshing place, recommended!

It's an wonderful experience. The place is run by a French guy and you will get the most authentic French cuisine. Although it is a bit expensive, the portion sizes make up for it. The food is delicious and the ambience just lovely!

Amazing food. French menu. Beautiful Ambience. Most of the visitors are non Indian. They have floor seating as well as couches and chairs.
Staff is helpful.
They take care payments as well as GPay.
Performances from various artist in the evening attracts alot of crowd. Hence bit of waiting time to get in.

Love the ambience, amazing performers and very friendly people. Host's name is Chez Christophe and the place is called something else which I can't remember ;) Just Dance and chill with friends.

Very good place.only French cuisine here, so know your stuff before going in ;) awesome ambience.great music.they were playing smooth jazz when we were there. The waiters are really friendly. Reaching the place from the road can be an adventure:) it was fun though.

The food is bery delicious and the vibe is just amazing. The service is Excellent and very polite. If you visit Gokarna, you must visit this place for sure.

If you are vegetarian please avoid this place! They have very limited variety and prices are on the higher side. If you want to just chill and have some beer with some live music then you can give it a try! And ya they charge entry charge of INR 50 per person which I don't know for what reason.

It's run by a French person, I liked the vibe of the restaurant, they have live performances but they charge an entry fee for watching it which is a rip off

Food is good but quantity is very less and expensive too. Right in front of gokarna main beach. Ambience is nice, but not budget friendly

This is the best place to chill from the sun and eat incredible food. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I wanted a custom omelette and they delivered.

The food is to die for. The ambience is great. You have to walk a bit to get there, but it's so worth it. It's a must visit place in Gokarna.

Superb place. Superb food and excellent service. Value for money. Must visit for anyone who loves good food and good ambience. Quite difficult to locate though. You'll have to ask around for the "French Hotel".

After being on the road for 9 months, what a fantastic discovery we made finding "Chez Christophe". We literally loved the food - typical French food with good ingredients. The staf is French and very nice. Go and enjoy!

The Ambience is very good and Hospitality is very good. Food is average both taste wise and variety.

Excellent French cuisine, a little on the expensive side difficult to spot the restaurant but 100% would recommend if you’re visiting gokarna. Do not forget to carry CASH along with you as they ONLY accept cash!
