Chiguru Farm

Had visited in September for 1 day with family and cousins. Had a warm welcome from owner (Raghu). Friendly staff. Well maintained farm at a quiet location away from city. Home cooked meals made completely with farm grown ingredients. Will definitely visit again to explore more.

These kinda comment from any business is unacceptable. I was about to book and saw this. I would like to support a more humble business rather than a rude one

I recently booked a stay at a place that had rave reviews online, but the reality was quite different. Right from the start, the accommodation left much to be desired. The room was not maintained properly; it had cobwebs, a dusty side table, and the bedding seemed used. The kitchen area was in a similar state, hinting at a lack of hygiene.

The caretaker, although polite and kind, unfortunately couldn’t make up for the subpar food that was both cold and tasteless. The farm tour, which I had looked forward to, was particularly underwhelming. It was advertised as an immersive experience with an abundance of fruit trees. However, it felt sparse and neglected, making one rely on sheer luck to find a ripe fruit.

The meals overall were a disappointment. They were served lukewarm and lacked the fresh farm-to-table experience I was expecting. There was a pottery session, which was somewhat enjoyable, but it felt more like an attempt to compensate for the other lacking areas of the visit.

To top it off, the owner's approach felt unwelcoming. Considering the time and effort spent driving to this place, coupled with the expense, the experience was disheartening. It's hard to reconcile the disparity between the online praise and the actual state of the farm. The visit, in all honesty, felt like a missed opportunity for a genuinely refreshing getaway.

Read superlative reviews about this farm stay but disappointed about most aspects. The place needs better maintenance. Rooms are good but less said about the bathrooms it is better. The enthusiasm of the owners ended suddenly as the day of our stay neared. Food is just manageable. Coffee & tea.

Based on the reviews, 4 of us went for a days stay to Chiguru farm and contrary to what was written we were totally disappointed with our experience there.unkempt place, room was ok but the bathrooms are disgusting.wonder if it has been cleaned at all in months.even the wash basins kept outside are awfully dirty to even use them.no maintenance whatsoever.the farm is nice but can be kept much cleaner.when we called the owner from the farm he didn't even as much enquire about our stay even for courtesy sake.the best part was we enjoyed the company of the 2 dogs in the farm.sorry to be so negative.but the place certainly needs supervison and good maintenance for the benefit of the farm and the visitors too.hope it's taken in the right spirit and some action is taken.

Very nice place with a smart and unique concept. Also we were lucky enough to see a elefant in wildlife on our tour. Definitely a highlight!

It's wrong to evaluate them on the above. They are not a resort /hotel. They are a very unique concept. A MUST for city dwellers to reconnect with nature.
Mr. Raghu Bhat is a warm and outstanding host. The food is totally organic and made from local ingredients by local folks. OUTSTANDING.

We went there for a weekend. It was very scenic and peaceful. Felt so relaxing to be in the middle of nature.

Brilliant place. Amazing owner and host, Mr. Raghu who will passionately explain what organic farming is about, and took us on wonderful farm visit. Food was authentic and tasty, great place to unwind and relax (they have indoor games and books if interested), overall had wonderful time. Great place for families with kids to show them beautiful nature, take them away from gadgets. We came back more knowledgeable than before. Would definitely return in near future.

Chiguru farms is where the Bangalore astronomy club hosts its star gazing expeditions. It's a good spot for this purpose. Mostly dark from the city lights and madness they have some good sightings of the galaxy and milky way.
A very ordinarily maintained farm. But the bathrooms are super clean and maintained well. Air is chill and so much more pure.
It's a MOSQUITO FREE LOCATION. That is unbelievable and mighty impressive. One single mosquito also can't be found. 5 points to that!
Food is simple and tasty. Just like home made. 5 points to that!
They have just two rooms that's about it.
Cowshed attached if you wish to have a milking experience.

This farm reminds me of my childhood days spent at my village house on the boundary of jungle.
Reaching farm is a challange from Banglore, at least as roads are very bad for around 20 km and the last patch of a km is no road, basically.

The food served was really good and satvik. Prepared and served with a lot of love.

There is no light pollution around and you can see stary night and indulge your self in gazing activity.

However, prices are at a higher end and not per room but per person, which is not a fair deal as per me.

If you are looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of city, “Chiguru farms” is where you could go. Not very far from Bengaluru, this 15 acres farm offers fresh air and fresh and tasty village food. We had visited during Puja holidays and it felt good to be part of the Puja conducted there. The greenery was very soothing. The hosts Raghu, Chandrika and Sathvik were very hospitable and we felt like home in less time. We were also happy to engage in some cherry and fig plucking. Looking forward to going back again.

Visit it once to get the rustic farm feel. Time flies by. Feel the satisfaction of eating what was grown next to you.

Beautiful place and great hosts. Loved every bit of the farm tour, time spent in the place and peace and calmness of the place. We got to learn a lot about farming and also got to experience delightful food made from farm produce.

Great place for a weekend getaway.

Best place for kids around 10 to 12 years to spend time with nature and taste some fresh fruits

Great place for nature lovers. Raghu Sir, Chandrika Mam and their son Satwik are awesome hosts. We visited the place on Sunday and stayed for one night, the experience was amazing and memorable. The farm tour was very detailed one with Satwik explaining all about their property and different plants, trees and crops. You get to pluck the fruits and vegetables during the tour as well. Their dog Champ is pure bundle of joy. Food is very tasty and ambience is pure bliss. We did two short treks across the fields and did some bird watching as well. In short this is a wonderful place, better to at least stay for one night. If you dont have time, you can do a day trip as its just 1.5-2hrs away from Bangalore and if you have the luxury of time, will recommend to stay over the weekend for a richer experience.

A place you need to explore if you have peace and solitude on your priority list for a break from the monotony of a city life. And the bonus is the host Mr. Raghu, who is such a humble person who enjoys making sure your stay is comfortable and memorable.

Very beautiful and quiet farm run by a polite and courteous owner and his team. 16 acres of farm with a vast variety of produce and family friendly environment. Spent the day walking around the property, having good home style food and playing with children and under the guidance of an over enthusiastic owner.nice place to spend the day as they accomodate a limited number of guests every day. A day trip to Chiguru farm brought back childhood fun of idle walks, swinging on trees, and playing Lagorri. It was lovely to soak in the fresh air and serene atmosphere. Definitely going back. Raghu and his family are wonderful hosts. They made sure all were comfortable right from our 70 yr old mom to 7 yr old child.

Its a 100% Organic farm and Scenic Place surrounded by Mountains and lakes, we started visiting every month. Mr. Raghu hospitality is no match and we learned many things from him.

Chiguru farm is a self sustained, organic farm around 55 Kms from Bangalore towards kanakpura. It's a 25 acre expanse of land with a farm house in between. It's an absolutely gorgeous place with a rustic old timey feeling. The place is extremely well maintained and the care takers and the cooks go out of their way to ensure that you are well fed and comfortable. The whole point of chiguru is to ensure that you are relaxed and laid back. You can go on small hikes around the farm, help out with farming, grab a book or just catch up with locals and listen to some amazing stories. An amazing place to unwind. The best part about chiguru is that everything that is served for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner is grown in the farm organically. You can go around the farm and pluck fresh fruits directly from the trees. I wish there was an extra star that I could award for the sense of calm and serenity I felt at this place.

Ps. They have regular star gazing events during less cloudy nights. You can see the arm of the milky way through your naked eyes.: o

The Best Farm experience I ever had. Best place for a fantastic learning about nature - trees, crops, animals, lakes, everything. Never miss the farm tour guided by Mr. Raghu. Every farm tour is a special experience and a different learning.

Apart from all this, the farm stay gives a feeling of belongingness with the kind of outdoor and indoor traditional games they play which are inclusive, inviting all the guests to participate, creating a healthy social environment.

Amazing place to visit. Me with family visited there for a day out. With 25 acres of farm with varieties of fruits, vegetables, medicinal plants etc. Mr. Raghu, the host, will become a family member within no time - whether it is playing with kids, or guiding it across farm, or explaining about farming.he is pretty good. The food is amazing. Cooked with items from farm by the best chefs from village, we can get the feel of the real taste of rural Karnataka. During our visit it was drizzling all the day. It added more beauty, peace and happiness to the trip. Thank you Raghu, Swastik and team for the wonderful experience. It is a complete detox retreat. We are 100% fresh after it.

Refreshing day trip with beautiful scenery. Plucking and eating fruits from the organic fruit farm was a joy. The fig trees are wonderful to be near. Swinging from the vines on the banyan tree was fun. The food was simple and delicious. The host is passionate about his venture and this shines through in every part of this unique experience.

It's a 25 acre organic farm, very close to nature. You can the feel the life in everything. I have spend over 2 months during the covid time working from here. I love the place. Authentic south indian food is served. A lot of fun activities happen form laghori, campfire, star gazing, camping, hiking and treks. Have got to meet so many similar minded people over time. I would recommend atleast a weekend getaway.

Did a day visit on 2nd August to Chiguru farm, a beautiful organic farm of about 15+ acres located near Maralawadi.the drive is peaceful and navigating is not at a problem.the place is senior citizen and pet friendly.
Hosts Raghu and his family make sure that you are comfortable in all aspects and make sure you take back some knowledge on organic farming.the farm is very beautiful and well maintained with a broad variety of fruits, dals, medicinal plants and vegetables. Raghu is very knowledgeable about organic farm and surprised us with many facts that he has learnt over a short period of time.
Food was very delicious-mostly organic, they have packages for night stay or long term stay.will definitely visit again in some other season.
