The owners of this property Mr. Jagdeesh&Ms. Chithra are very kind and they have provided us the best service possible and made us feel like we are at our Home.
Highly recommend for families and families travelling with kids.

Very good owner, courteous and treated us as his own family but also gave us space for privacy. Definitely one of the best places to stay in Somwarpet. Within reach of main town but set slightly away in a thick coffee estate. Feels like a beautiful escape from the busy city life!

The hosts were extremely hospitable and the food was to die for.
The place was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you require.

I would give Chilumey 100 stars on a 5 star scale. Everything is simply superb! The place is beautiful, the home is wonderfully built and appointed, the food is awesome.and to top it all, the hosts are absolutely wonderful people. We have now become friends for life with Chitra and Jagadeesh! Lots of love and hugs and best wishes!

If you need a break and a Home away from a Home, THIS IS THE PLACE. Ideal for family trip. The Owners are a soft spoken couple with great Hospitality. Amazing property and a huge estate. The place is far better than it's in pictures. Comfort - Superb. Washrooms - At par with a 5 start hotels. Living Space - Tastefully done and has a class. A beautiful balcony to sit with entire family and have a good time together. Full Value for Money.

I cannot decide what did I like most about The Chilumey estate.

While the property itself is top notch and great value for money. The food that is provided from the home kitchen is exceptionally good. So much so that you look forward to meals after meals after each meal. Mrs Jagdish takes care of the guest with delicious food. She has a regal taste and that is reflected in their choice of furniture and interiors. It will give 5 star property a run for its money. The washroom is hotel standard.
However, I am convinced that the best thing about the place is the warm hospitality of the couple. We have travelled across the globe and can say with a hand on our heart that we haven't met a more gracious hosts. They are the best thing we discovered during our trip.

Do buy the coffee from the estate and the taste of the coffee is heavenly.

We booked the place at the last minute and were very apprehensive on how the place would be. However what we got was one of the best home stay experience in last 15 years. Rooms were super comfortable, toilets were squeaky clean and the home made (South Indian) food was awesome. The place is better than how it looks in pictures. We were 3 families with 6 adults, 2 kids less than 10 years. We took 3 rooms and extra beds were put in two of them. It was quite comfortable. The house is built in a coffee estate and a quick tour is a must. The hosts Mr. Jagdish and Mrs Chitra stay in the same house and are super friendly and great hosts. They helped arrange a local tour via a local driver with on his 4 by 4. The places he took us were not something we could have explored on our own and driving our sedan there was impossible. Overall the place gives you a good balance of privacy and comfort at the same time. Totally recommend it!

Absolutely wonderful home stay at Chilumey in Coorg. The property is so serene and green. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. A highlight is the hospitality by our hosts. This included delicious home prepped meals during the day (don’t miss the pork curry and marinated chicken, and coorg coffee!) and good recommendations on viewpoints in coorg to visit!

Amazing property, located amidst lush greenery and a coffee plantation. The house is separated from the main road ensuring no vehicle noises reach the property. This is a definite plus for someone looking for serenity and peace.

The house has very good rooms and sit-outs for people to gather. The rooms are well kept and spacious. Washrooms are good and hot water for a morning shower shouldn't be a problem.

Jagdeesh and Chitra are excellent hosts. He is well-informed and his suggestions were very helpful in planning activities around the town. The talks I had with him were enlightening and I definitely learnt a lot from him.

Chitra's cooking was top-notch. She prepares the food herself and ensures the recipe is tweaked according to our liking. We could enjoy the authentic cuisine of Coorg and South Canara, thanks to her!

The property also has a place for bonfire, an outdoor gazebo, a small set of swings, a front-yard, parking space for multiple vehicles and a walking trail around the coffee plantation. They're also pet-friendly.

I would recommend Chilumey for a peaceful stay, away from the crowd and will definitely be visiting again.

Fabulous home stay experience! It is a must-visit and the hosts are so so hospitable. So close to town and yet feels like you’re in a remote coffee estate at the same time. There’s a nice gazebo and plenty of parking!

A great place for staycation. Food and other services are very good. The host will help you with anything and everything you need in and around coorg.

Very calm place. It is hosted by two very beautiful people, they take care and provide for all the amazing food and coffee. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a break from hustle and bustle

The place is in the middle of peper and coffee plantations. Greenery greenery everywhere. Secluded from the traffic and vehicle noise. We had a memorable stay. The kids had their time moving around in the vast area. The house was super clean and the food was amazing. Home cooked food. Aunty and uncle made us feel we're part of their family. Definitely a worthwhile and not to miss this lovely place. I will recommend my family and friends.

A wonderful and refreshing experience at the beautiful Chilumey Homestay, surrounded by large picturesque coffee and pepper estates. Homestay owners are very warm, gentle and kind and had a great time interacting with them and of course the food was absolutely delicious and healthy, overall it was a very memorable trip!

We had a memorable experience last weekend staying in Chilumey coffee estate. While we enjoyed the tour in the coffee estate, the food, the coffee, moreover the hospitality of the host overwhelmed us. The owners are very polite, friendly. We enjoyed the bonfire in the chilled evening. The home cooked breakfast and dinner were really delicious. The host cooked themselves in their kitchen. We must thank them for such warmth added in the hospitality.
The jeep ride to the hills and falls was also amazing. The rooms are very clean, big and with all modern equipments

We have visited Coorg previously as well, but Chilumey was one of the best places to stay and enjoy. Considering the estate being in close proximity to city, it's very quite and calm and keeps you close to nature. Uncle Jagadish and Aunty are very warm and welcoming and give you the feeling of being with an extended family and friends.

The estate is very much accessable and close to many local site seeing places, Especially If you are travelling with Family this is a must visit place and stay. Children will love the estate and have plenty of place to play and run around.

To top it all Aunty prepares very tasty and yummy local cuisine all by herself, we just loved her passion for cooking and treating guests.

Absolutely LOVED our stay here. We cannot recommend this enough for a family stay. Couple of reasons:
1. The location in Somwarpet is gorgeous. You stay in the middle of a beautiful coffee plantation breathing pristine fresh air and waking up to gorgeous views
2. The hospitality you receive from the owners is unbeatable. Aunty made us delicious food, we had Coorgi delicacies. We ate more than we should have because it was incredibly tasty (but healthy). Uncle gave us a tour of the plantation and gave us a ride in his jeep to a nearby lake and temple. They also gave us great recommendations.
3. If you’re planning to visit Coorg, you ought to stay in Somwarpet. It’s serene all around, beautiful drives with greenery and hills as far as you can see.

We are going back to stay here as soon as possible.

The property is very beautiful and so are the host (very welcoming). Aunty prepared delicious food (both dinner and breakfast) for us. The property is really beautiful and very well kept. Both the hosts are really good and welcoming. Interaction with uncle feels like you are talking to family. Overall nice place and worth staying.

Although close to city, its peaceful, colorful, and feels like a home away from home that you want to have for life!
The room was clean, and large enough for 3 people.
It is close to many attractions in that area.
Finally, it's the hospitality and the homemade food that made a huge difference.
