Chowbara

(Visited in January 2020) - Iconic & classic clock tower located in the centre of Bidar city. Not much is known about the monument & it remains unprotected and badly maintained, but is nevertheless a popular tourist point.

It's located at the heart of the old city.its a public gatherings place having hotels and markets near by with parking facility.

It's a clock built by nizam in his period. It has 4 clocks in every direction (east, west, north, and South)

Once the centre point of Old Bidar, people used to publicly declare things from the chowbhara This monument is built by the Bahmanis so it was built in an Persian style. Near to chowhara is jama masjid, two old monuments of bahmani time.

Chowbara is situated in the heart of the old city, it is a 22m high cylindrical tower. Built during Barid Shahi Kings, under the able guidance of Muhammad Gawan the Prime Minister of Bidar. Witness the spell-binding views of the whole plateau from the top of the tower, the building serving as a watchtower too.
