It is one of the historical monuments of uttara kannada district. It is visible from the national highway. It is installed by British in the memory of their Colonel who died fighting with ruler of Gerusoppa.
It's a place from the British time and it's a monument. Now it's not at all crowded and people are not coming for the walking. There are few seating arrangements also, it's not in good condition.
One of oldest monument during Britishers. Not developed much as it's graveyard of Colonel. It's said that Colonel pet dog was also burried here. Current NH17 widening and construction might get this monument down which is heartbreaking.
Beautiful location by ex NH 17 Kanyakumari highway, very easy to miss.
But if you could locate and stop at the right place walk you the small hillock next to the road, there are steps by the small house that lead up to this place.
The place Raj era it may be a bit prior to it couldn't find any information about this place though.
It's free to visit so don't worry and enjoy the views of the palm and sea visible from there.
