. I was there in the month of Dec.rooms, bathrooms are very well kept. Individual cottages.dining area is very tidy. What i liked the most was the food they offered. It was only veg. Home food. Very tasty. Happened to meet the owner. Very humble.gentleman. The manager parashuram.very nice person. Overall Service. Hospitality ambience is very good

It's a beautifully maintained home stay, with a pure veg food. The staff is very cooperative & they offer you various kinds of dishes after every 3 hours. You ask them anything & they would serve you with a smiling face.
Well maintained rooms, only 5 cottages but then the staff serves you with best hospitality. They take you on a trail as well. I would strongly recommend this for pure veg families.

I was here for a day, this place is beautiful with amazin view and nature around. I loved the lunch meal offered with authentic taste. The rooms/cottages are very clean n tidy with all required amenities. A must go place if in Dandeli

Dandeli is one of my favourite destinations for birding, wildlife and some spectacular jungle drives. Dandeli Chalet is a big surprise and a whiff of fresh air among mushrooming stays and resorts. Nestled in a 15 acre property with well appointed spacious rooms and hospitality a few notches above. A quiet den for families who do not want to carry the baggage of city life into the wild. The veg food served is one of the best and hosptality overseen by Parashuram is worth returning back to:)

Really enjoyed the stay at Dandeli Chalet. Accommodation is close to nature and staff are very helpful. Food served was really good and homely.

Excellent homestay. Nice hospitality with homely and healthy pure vegetarian food. Mr. Parshuram guided us very nicely for all Dandeli attractions.

The veg food served was very delicious though simple. Rooms were clean and hygienic. Total ambiance was very nice. Staff was very cooperative and accommodative. Special thanks to Parashuram for all his arrangements. Whole thing is kept so simple yet elegant.

Stayed here for 2 days. Good vegetarian food. Nature view especially during winter mornings are amazing. Cottages are spacious with hot water availability. Activity points/safari/dam boating points are within 20km from this location.

We stayed for 3 days in Dandeli chalet homestay amidst lush greenery of dandeli forest. The host chethana bhat and Mr parashuram.manager in charge was very hospitable and great at planning our day trip to different places of interest. Food is excellent.organic vegetables grown in their own farm which is amazing. Rooms are very clean.rates very reasonable.will definitely visit again.kudos to the homestay people who take all the effort to make your stay enjoyable and memorable

We had a wonderful experience of staying at Dandeli Chalet. Food was tasty and fresh, there was a fresh aura about the place and the staff were all courteous. I would definitely visit this ace again given a chance.

Wonderful place located amidst thick forests. Very close to jungle safari and river rafting places. The food is amazing and the host, caretakers are very courteous.

Very homely feel with home made food. And people are very nice. Water adventures are a blast to do with your family and friends.

We stayed here for 4 nights with my 9 year old son. Sudarshan, LaxmiNarayan Kaka and Malini Kaki were very friendly. Sudarshan took us for nature walk cum small trekking and explained us about the forest and food chain. He suggested for bird watching with ornithologist Rajni. This was one of the best part of the trip where we spotted lot of birds and learnt about them esp about hornbill. We had a campfire at the end of each day and we always looked forward to it. There was a wide, open ground with a 300 year old tree with swings on it. The food had a local taste and we all loved it. We were relaxed during our stay in Chalet. Nearby places worth visiting is Honey park.

This is a very well maintained home stay with clean rooms. Mr. Sudarshan is a perfect host who has amazing knowledge of the local flora and fauna. The early morning walks with him was full of knowledge and information.
This is one of the few homestays in Dandeli which is pure vegeterian. Food is very homely and is tasty. There are open areas around the homestay where kids can play. Tree house is one of the main attraction.
Nearby places to visist: Honey bee park, Supa dam and water activities nearby.

We had booked Dandeli chalet for 1730 per person per day inclusive of all the meals; which was actually a steal. Dandeli Chalet is a homestay & please expect good quality home made food; nothing fancy but good. The care takers along with Sudarshan were very humble & helpful. The rooms were clean & all the necessary amenities provided. Please do not expect ACs & Wifi but badminton rackets, carrom board, acres of land to stroll.we did not even have a car but Sudarshan had Parshuram be with us with a jungle safari jeep.

If you looking forward to a peaceful & serene outing where you do not want to keep on your social media, this is the place for you! More

A home away from home, great hospitality, delicious local food cooked by Mr laxman bhat and Mr sudarshan who runs this place is a great host and connected with us on a personal level, this place is definitely recommended for nature lovers

Very peaceful place to spend quality time with family. Not for the young crowd. Good hospitality. Decent food. However it can improve in the areas of snacks and tea and coffee. Tea coffee was bad. I feel some other amenities should be added like herbal Bath, mountain bike riding etc. Nature walk was good.

Place is good. Food was okay. There is no room service, it will be difficult if you go with family and kids. If you need even drinking water you need to walk 400 m to fetch one. No activities available. This is just to stay.

Location: Location is an advantage as it is away from the city. Very peaceful. Greenary all around with nice views.
Rooms and Dining area are well maintained.
Food: Amazing food. They serve only veg as they are vegetarians. Package incl 1 BF 1 lunch 1 Dinner and tea snacks.
Facility: Campfire, Badminton court, swings.
It was our 1st wedding Anniversary. I wanted it to be blend of romantic and adventure. I felt the place was apt to celebrate with candle light (which i alredy had planned with all the necessary required things). It was a great stay and i recommend.

If you are a pure vegetarian food lover, this is the Place! Tastes like home made food.

The place is very clean and spacious (spread over 14 acres). Very peaceful with hardly any disturbance from the outside world.

Apart from price tag, everything is good like stay, facility, food etc.

If you do more research you will get homestay in less price compare to Chalet.

A very beautiful place to spend your vacation with your family. Pollution free environment, life amidst nature. A must visit place if you are stressed and tired of the hectic life.

A beautiful location, serene, calm and pristine. Absolutely heartwarming hospitality from both the host Sudarshan and his caring staff who took care of all our needs as one would of their own family.
Local travel was also organised to all the adventure activity spots which only added to the thrill of our stay!

Had one of my best experiences at home stays at the Dandeli Chalet. The host, Sudarshan was very accommodative of our needs, and helped us to get clearances and permits for a lot of places. He's a naturalist and if you go with him on a nature walk, he has a lot of knowledge to share about the forest and its ecosystem. The home stay as such was very well maintained and the food was fantastic. Very hygienic, fresh and tasty vegetarian meals were a boon here.
Very impressed with the stay, the food and the good natured person that the host is.
A definite recommendation for anyone who visits Dandeli.

We went as a group of 15 people and stayed at this wonderful place for 2 days.

The place essentially has 5 cottages, a central dining hall, a shed housing 4-5 tents and loadddsss of free space. The greenery surrounding the place was refreshing and helped keep the weather pleasant throughout our stay - even during sunny mornings. It got slightly chilly after sunset. The place was very well maintained and clean. The cottage is pretty spacious with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.

Coming to the owner of the place, Mr. Sudarshan was a gracious host and was available for clarifications round the clock. He helped us plan our trip in dandeli and even got us approval to visit the breath taking Sykes point. He was extremely enthusiastic to share his knowledge about the local places, practices, history, wildlife and nature. He even came up with a special walk route in the morning on our request and guided us through the buffer zone for nearly 4 kms (one way), constantly sharing tidbits.

The two helpers were very pleasant and courteous. The food was amazing. They served us with freshly prepared hot/cold beverages every single time we went out or came back. They were extremely flexible with timings - be it readily arranging lunch well ahead of the usual timings when we had to leave for rafting or waiting patiently for us to have our dinner past 10 pm when we lost track of time in the campfire they arranged for us!

The only minor inconvenience was availability of hot water. The cottages do not have individual water heaters but is instead fed from a common supply by heating water - so it is not available 24*7.

Overall we were extremeeeellllyyy satisfied with the place, more so with the people here.

The love, affection and care shown by Sudarshan Hegde and his team was exceptional! Very clean and well maintained cottages. Amazing food with very innovative and creative dishes that had us all, over eating at every meal! The opportunity to spot so many birds and hear their call was great.
Sudarshan's knowledge of the flora and fauna as he took us on a nature walk was interesting! Dandeli Chalet is truly a homestay in so many senses. We were reminded of our visits to a favourite relative's home in our childhood! Thank you Sudharshan for making our stay wonderful and helping us create such beautiful memories! We hope to come back soon!

Overrated for the price and service rendered. Kind of misleading too. We had to shell out 500 RS /day extra for our driver's food. First time in my experience. Puffed rice was offered as snack during our first day of stay. Struggled with hot water too.

I believe the ratings are rigged and the owner needs to work on customer service orientation.

Only positive was the Sattvic food. If you are inclined towards spicy food even this would turn out negative.

Definitely not worth visiting at the price point.

It's a 100% Homestay (not a resort type!). From a true homestay, we expect a caring, matured and understanding host in the first place - undoubtedly Mr. Sudarshan and the staff are. The cottages have absolute privacy from the main building and other small play things in the garden. The cottages are no less than a 5-star hotel rooms. The bathrooms have almost-all jaguar fittings. Food is 100% veg and more like malnad style. @Sudarshan Sir - Menu is undoubtedly healthy but may be u can check about adding one masala item (spicier and hot kinda) to cater to all segments of vegetarians (especially in cold weather) :)
I wouldn't comment on the price as the opinion varies.
My fellow tourists, if you are looking for a true Homestay (not a resort, I repeat) experience that is centric to all places and safari in Dandeli, look no further. Talk to the host, get a good quote and head there without a second thought

We two families stayed for 2 nights on oct 13 at this place.

This property is poorly maintained with lax attitude towards customer experience and comfort. Let me point out few things which are bothersome.

1. There is no electricity in the room from 3am-5am which is peak sleep hour. Without opening shutters at the expense of insect/reptile fear, you won't sleep for sure. We got a vague reply that electricity trips every day due to power outage. This is dishonest and unconvincing answer one can give to customer.
2. It seems owners are extremely stingy even in basic things like lighting. Though there are lights in garden pathway leading to rooms, it is not lit for another vague reason that there is some electric short.
3. Double standards in food: They claim to use less oil, salt etc etc, But no qualms in preparing deep fried snacks for evening tea. Don't expect any magnanimity in break fast items.it is mostly a combination of puffed rice (avalakki) variant and Upma etc. No traces of fruit even as basic as banana.

Only saving grace is that Sudarshan stays with you most of the time with interesting facts about wild life and local flora fauna.

Overall this stay has strongly confirmed my belief that home stays are mostly not worth for money (Zero Value for Money, ZVM) and it is burden for both customer and owners (either trying to break even or barely managing to run it). Home stays in general neither provide good home comfort nor a professional hotel experience.

Staying in a 3 star hotel with food is cheaper than home stay with super amenities for all ages (pool, gym etc). Of course, you need to cut a good bargain in good hotels which is easy these days with online deals

I have a better idea for customer who are planning for dandeli trip. Plan to stay in a good hotel in Dharwad/Hubli and make a 1 hour trip to Dandeli for sight seeing / water sporting activities in kali river. Kids won't like home stays for sure unless it has a professional hotel like infra & amenities
