Department of Tourism, Madikeri

As we visited during Feb, the greenery and waterfalls were not at their best. However, the town of Madikeri in itself is a nice place to stay. Mandalpatti and Talakaveri are must visit. Mandalpatti has Shola forests which is found only in this part of India. One must visit Coorg just to see the breathtaking views of Mandalpatti. We hope to visit again during August-September as they say Coorg is Scotland of India during those months.

Very bad experience at Mandalpatti, compulsory to hire a jeep and the jeep mafia charges an exorbitant price and try to push for private ride even if it’s only a couple. Abusive and rowdy behaviour by the jeep drivers. Ended up not going on the ride. Disappointed.
