Worst management and people are allowed to see only 1/4th place. All the way it's been tied and security guy was worst.not worth of being here by travelling such a long distance.
Very nice for nature lovers. Really great to see the tree which has almost 1300 branches and out of that 800 branches touching ground and growing again. You can spend some 1 hour sitting and looking at greenery. Photos can be taken which are in turn elevated by the greenery
Rest rooms are not available, not many food options nearby. Parking space is ample.
I visited while returning from the Savandurga hills, this place is famous for the very old banyan tree.the place is good and outside there are refreshments and snacks centre.
Disclaimer: Don't expect a lot from the place. It has only a banyan tree and a small park-like place to walk around and relax. The tree is majestic and maintained well. But the area has nothing much to do. It's just a "one-time visit" place.
Visited here during my study time and pleasant place to meditate or study So, more about Doddaladamara means I have answer because I reside nearby so it's giant tree approximately 400+ year old banyan tree (Ficus benghalensis {scientific name}) This single tree covers 3 acres (1.2 ha). After Bulandshahr's it's the first oldest tree in the world ageing of more than 500+yrs and then this tree having 400+yrs. No-one knows who planted it. After some years it was converted to world heritage site.
There is good hygiene, there is lot of monkeys had a worst experience by feeding one. Please don't feed peanut or corn to it, if did the robber is none other than monkey itself.
Terrific place for individuals, kids and families. But unfortunately, due to COVID the park is closed. We went there and made the circle. Place is in kengeri. Notably the location is full of plant nurseries. They provide great supply of plants and herbs.
The place is ok. When we went it was closed due to COVID and there is nothing much to do. They have covered the tree and made a small park around it. Better to drive few KMs ahead to big banyan tree vineyard and have their vine testing tour or brunch at Ranch.
The maintenance work is still going on in this place and the place is wonderful. Please do not feed the monkeys with Jung foods while visiting here. The road to this tree is very dusty and not maintained we'll, please wear masks to protect yourself from dust.
Wonderful place for a 1-2hrs relaxation to to get yourself lost with the Banyan Trees. Thanks to the ancestors for keeping these alive for us. There is a temple inside the premises along with a washrooms. Going Post Noon is recommended to avoid crowd.
Lovely place to visit with family, it's a 400 year old tree with a park around it. Very minimal but we went there for an early morning drive and got breakfast and tea. Lots of bakeries around, we got warm fresh coconut biscuits. Many stray doggies, got 2 parle G packs for them.
Over all, pleasant morning and a good idea to visit this. We ought to see such a vaste being atleast once.
Get a few rounds around the park for your step count guys!
It's not like before 25yrs back very big place with many trees but today it's very compact small gated place maintained by govt. Entrance fees is charged.
Biggest Banyan in bangalore. I am glad that people have kept space for nature. I Hope land mafia won't grab that too. Best part is near by there are lots of nurseries to buy plants and accessories for home or farm or industries
It's a decent historical place to spend few hours.do read about history so you will keep your interest up else it could get boring at first glance.as you start roaming around you will start to like it.as it's hugh and probably older than our entire generations
Its a big tree on the roadside, not located on a big park, I wish Govt could have made one! The tree is huge, you will love being there, take good photos around and that's it! Dont carry any food inside, monkeys would be edifying for you, be careful to not tease them.
It's the 4th largest Banyan Tree. The original trunk has died due to natural illness. But, it's a breathtaking view and feels like an omniscient presence. Nice place to relax and ponder on your thoughts.
The big banyan tree is really a wonder to watch. Maintenance of the area can be better. They have installed nice park benches, and laid tiles all over the path; both look recently added. You will see lot of mischievous monkeys all around. Be careful, they will snatch food items from you
Now that’s a huge and wide banyan tree. It covered an area equivalent to a small park. There’s a Munishwara temple inside. And there are stone seatings placed inside for people to sit and relax.
Must visit place. 400 year Banyan tree is not something u see normally. Go and enjoy the evening in the shades. Restaurants and shops available nearby for refreshment too. No ticket charge also to enter the park
It's extremely awesome.very legacy and historically BIG BANYAN Tree Bangalore Landmarks.we shouldn't touch root and any parts of banyan tree. It's our precious we have maintained properly. Wash room paid service available and car parking avaliable. Entrance free no fee. I recommend it
Relaxing drive and place. Picnic, You can enjoy the sunset and evening sceneries from here. There is a temple in the middle of the place, to enjoy a calm time praying. Visitors can enjoy a fun time spotting monkeys.
Many different restaurants and snack shops are available the area.no restriction on taking pictures here, we can take photos in every angle covering beauty of Dodds almara with monkeys and tree branches.
Cyclin one of best way to reach this place both healthy and relaxing
It's a great place to visit in early morning time only. If you love plants, there you will find a lot of plant nursery nearby, we got some plants from there, huge varieties with reasonable price.
Nothing much to see or do right now. You can walk around once on the pathway and then sit on a bench for a while. That's about it. They seem to be planning some stuff for the future though.
Dodda alada mara is a nice place. It is amazing to see how one single banyan tree has spawned off so many banyan trees (covering 3 acres!) Over 400 years apparently. The main tree is dead. There could have been a spot or indication of where it was but unfortunately that is left to our good guesses. Must visit place in Bangalore. Just a reminded of how magnificent nature was before concrete took over.
Dodda aalada Mara is a very good spot to relax on a weekend. We generally go cycling to this place during mornings. Very nice place to just roam around and for photography. Also the road that leads to this place has a lot of nursery in case you are interested in buying some plants for your home. Highly recommend this place for weekend relaxation and recreation.
It's a blessing to be under this 400 year old n spred across 3acres Banyan Tree. Cool place with seating n temple. Food, snacks, etc available. 1 to 2hr picnic for families n kidz
Nice place to spend some time with family. The big banyan tree is worth the watch. A Sunday day out is recommended. You can also visit the muktiNaga temple near the place.
World's 4th largest banyan tree which spreads across 3 acres. It's a lovely place to visit over a weekend. About an hour's drive from Bangalore, you can actually sir on benches under the Banyan tree. The main trunk died 20 years ago but the roots and branches still make up for an impressive sight. There is a bit of restoration going on currently but didn't hamper our experience.
