Esplanade

The first thing that strikes is the ambience created in a very neo classical way within a small space. It is located on the first floor. What we found out is that the service is slow even though courteous, so be prepared and be patient for the orders to materialise.at least 20 minutes. In our case for a group of 06, it turned out to be 55 minutes! From the time of placing the order.an inordinately long and unacceptable time line. Even though food was being served to other guests who arrived a little later. We complained and someone mumbled that starters were being served to them. The waiters and the manager could not provide any acceptable explanation. Seems that they are managing the show with some staff (cook) /equipment shortage. Further, I observed that the drinking water glasses were not placed on the table gently but very casually that was unpleasant to hear. They could improve upon this point. Waiters were well behaved and presented themselves in an impeccable haircut and uniform.

Now coming to the best part i.e, the food. It was excellent. So no complaints here.the taste was authentic bengali.and neither too mild nor too spicy. Just the right flavour. All of us were happy with the quality and quantity of food served. We had aampora sharbat, gondhoraj lebu jol, daab chingri, basanti polau, plain basmati rice, luchi, haathruti, mutton kosha, bhetki Kalia, bhetki shorshe, and in sweets. Nolen gurer ice cream and nolen gurer misti doi. The sweets were terrific. Would visit again but with adequate time and patience in mind.

For long I was craving a Fish Kabiraji like it's made in my hometown, finally the day is today I satisfied my cravings.
Located in Indiranagar near the Metro Station just above Chowman (another favorite joint of me originating since kolkata days), the restaurant is super ambient with hints of a bengali fine dine.
You get both indoor and outdoor seating (smoking not allowed), the servers welcome you well and first thing I liked is the Menu. The menu is a whole book, legit with leather and don't know I felt very good taking the menu in my hands.
We ordered Fish Kabiraji, Chicken Braised Cutlet, Paanchphoron Chicken with Steamed Rice and ended our meal with Roshogollar Payesh (5 stars to that).
SUROJIT has been a great server and well attended our table.
I'll sneak in someday again in afternoon to satisfy my cravings for my home food. Might be visiting again during Durga Puja, this outlet remains one of my favorites list in Bangalore! Kudos to food, service and ambience, top notch!

Extremely bad food. The food taste abysmal. It was so bad that it makes me take out my tounge and rinse it with detergent. Please please don’t go there. Too much overpriced. Waste of time and money. Over hyped listen to me.

The Best place to have bengali food in Bangalore. The pocket pinnch per person is a tad bit high (around 700 to 1k) but it does justify that through the quality it delivers.

The ambience or the service may not be something to write home for, but the food is absolutely lipsmacking.
Weekends have a huge waiting time (1 hour or more) but bear that time. Let your hunger brew because its worth it.
The prawn, fish cutlets were amazing. Mutton Jhol Basanti Pulao was too good.
The Fish Kobiraji was heavenly!
I ordered the Daab Chingdi. If you are not a fan of coconut milk, skip it. If you like it, then you are in for a treat.

What an amazing place for Bengali food lovers, the quantity is usually higher than other food places, like oh! Calcutta and sorse

After 1hrs foods are come, very bad taste, fish is spoil, coming bad smell, not fresh, pricess are very high

The fish kabiraji was not good in taste. Fish was smelly and very hard.
Asked for extra food to be packed, the server did not checked with us before charging, upon checking it was informed to us about the charges, it's not about the money, it's about the customer services which you provide, also service is very slow.
I mean does not except these kind of services from a restaurant like Esplanade

Went there with a couple of non Bengali colleagues with the idea of treating them to great Bengali cuisine and Esplanade did more than that in absolute flying colors. Simply loved the food we ordered, especially the Bhetki Paturi, baked rosogolla and the fish kochuri from their special "cabin" cuisine feature.

This Bengali restaurant has amazing vibes full of colors and interesting paintings. Loves their nolen gur icecream and mochar chop. However the pricing is very high.

Located at indranagar above chowman- this is a nice place for Bengali cuisine. The menu spread is a lot like the 6 Ballygunge place. The taste is nice overall but I have had better Bengali cuisine before this in Bangalore itself. But the staff service is very nice and polite. Dishes we had fish fry, gondhoraj mojito, luchi, cholar dal, Polao, mutton kosha. Totoal bill was 2100

I was really disappointed after having dinner their. I did read the reviews about slow service however, when we went we were just the 3rd customer yet the service was extremely slow. I felt it's a over priced place as well. For someone who is not very familiar with Bengali cuisine I feel the waiters could have explained what to expect or order. I was excited to visit but came back home disappointed, never going back ever again. Only kosha mangsho was good. They spoiled the lemon soda as well, it was just water.

Food is a bit over priced. Must put more efforts on Cleanliness and hygiene of table and serving plate especially.
Ambience is nice and calm.

Food was tasty and delicious, I had visited after seeing a review. Wanted to try the Bengali food from a longtime, finally my wish was fulfilled. Staff was very courteous and polite in helping us out in deciding the Menu and infact their chosen menu was perfect and we enjoyed it. More info - Car needs to be parked in the by lanes near the restaurant as they don't have a dedicated parking area.

Food quality and quantity both are good.
We ordered veg chop, chanar chop, basanti polao, mutton, dav chingri, dav murti, and jaggery ice cream but we ordered basmati pulao but they served karmiri pulao. And we also odered dav murgi it's also not teasty the use poppy seeds too much. And also service was not good we are waiting for water minimum 10 minut.

Its horrible to say the least. First they do not show any kind of courtesy or feel pride to place Bengali cousine to the customers.they have just taken it for given and I found them to be so complacent to explain the menu or the culture.

Plain rice -0/10 we ordered gobindo bhog and they gave regular rice inspite of enquiring prior to ordering
Kosha mangsho- 3/10 sweet in taste and i really dont know since when kosha mangsho was sweet in bengal
Luchi basket-6/10
Aam kashundi paturi- 1/10 it was stale n too sweet and no essence of a good paturi

I would like to mention that even after ordering so many items for just 2 people I requested them to give us a complientary luchi so that my friend who is new to this cuisine could taste n not waste food as all this was too much for just 2 person.

There was no ambience no customer oriented approach and a waste of money and time.supersad

Was a fan of Esplanade but Really disappointed (and embarassed) with the Dhakai Mutton Biriyani ordered. I don't know why the taste was so different.

Ambiance is the main attraction. Takes us back in time to the large verandahs of zamindar houses and the club style dining rooms. The food is great but portions are very large so order carefully. The taste is typically rich, a replica of the biyebari style food. Overall good experience.

Amazing authentic Bengali food. Must try sorao fish and patudi fish. Finger licking food at reasonable cost. They have vallet parking available.

Contemporary Bengali restaurant with ambient environ. One of the very best. Very clean and well maintained. F&B Service can be a bit better. Overall a great place for family and kids.

Excellent Bengali food, Excellent and authentic taste and ambience. Good collection of vegetarian and non vegetarian foods. Good place for family and get together.

Nice place can seat 35-40 diners. Wait staff is courteous. Manager is very helpful. Good variety of food. Taste are ok. Biriyani portion is excellent, two can easily eat a portion. While we did not wait for a table, you can expect a wait for table as this restaurant is pretty popular. Worth a meal specially with family.

Had been 3 times. First  2 times at their old location and last time visited their new location. Both times their interiors are an awesome and full touch of Bengal. So, whenever we feel like want to have some Bengali food in Bangalore, we used to went Esplanade. I like their each and every dishes. From Starters to Desserts all. May be for my Bong Connections. But I would like to recommend my Non-Bong friends to go Esplanade and explore Bengali food:)

Food is surely good if you are looking for bengali cuisine. Be wary of the waiting time for getting a table and I also thought the service time is very high

The food is really good and rich, and truly reflect the real taste of authentic Bengali food.
I really like the hospitality and ambience of the place, the assistant are really polite can guide you over selection from menu in case you are having confusion.
The rest room is covered with small photo frames telling about different type of ghost found in West Bengal telling about their origin and everything.

Food may be authentic bengali but they failed to explain the menu to non-bengalis. They write onething on menu and serve something else. For instance, they have a small size prawn dish which as per the menu is supposed to be served in Coconut shell but they had served on bowl/plate. So when we went on 2nd time to have the same small prawn curry, we explained our previous order and then place for the same dish. To our horror when food came it was a completely different dish with big prawn. What was more disappointing is that the manager not even once gave an apology for misinformation blamed us. Should'nt restaurant person should explain the similar dishes when customer is in dilemma.
Also, parking your vehicle is a challenge as there is no place for parking.
To summarize it they lack professionalism in customer service.
