First Neuro Hospital

I had very worse and bad experience with this hospital. I visited for the treatment of my mother, she had severe headache for the previous two days so hospitalized in kasaragod, from kasaragod they referred her to here. But even after said it was as a emergency case they were not at all even ready to listen. We waited for 6 hours and after so many requests the sisters allowed me to enter into doctors cabin. The staffs are so rude and they are even don't know which case is emergency and which is not.
Not all reccomending this hospital for any kind of treatment

Dr. Rajesh Shetty is a well known neuro in Mangalore and Malabar area.
The waiting here is crazy, as other reviews mentioned Abt this so I tried to call the hospital many times, Worst thing is that they never respond to the calls.
After trying for 2 days they finally picked up and said the appointment is fixed and the doctor will be available on time.
We were made to wait 5 hrs and the staff will not respond to your queries untill u have paid the fees.
700 consultation + 250 registration fees?

Many patients all old and helpless were made to suffer waiting here. As if the staff is getting some pleasure in seeing us wait

I say this cause the staffs know the waiting period and can convey this. 1 hrs waiting is manageable but 5 hrs is nothing but torture.

I would not recommend anyone to go here as one of the patient family along with us came from Kerala and had to go back without consulting.

It was heartbreaking seeing the hospital staffs behaving so ruthlessly.

Worst experience I had.money making hospital they suggest every patient to MRI scanning after MRI they tell us to make MRI CONTRAST simply money making and not at time sence from morning 9: 30 i entered to hospital and it's around 7: 30 still not finished 2nd MRI and special thing is they have only 1 MRI scanning mechine every patient will take approximately 45min so it's a long que to MRI and main thing below poverty people please don't visit to this hospital may be you have to sell your everything

This is the worst hospital I have ever seen.staff are also very irresponsible. I was waiting for doctor consultation.but I didn't get doctors appointment even after waited for 4 hrs.

We had admitted my father at First Neuro Hospital in November 2022 as he had paralysis stroke. Actually, we shifted him from Bangalore, as we had very bad experience in Sparsh, RR Nagar, Bangalore hospital where they suggested brain operation, which was actually not necessary that too at his age of 76 years.

By Gods grace we made right decision to move him to First Neuro, Mangalore, where my father was treated by Dr Rakshit Kedambadi. Treatment provided here are the best, and the facility they provide is also very affordable. Else for any kind of neurological treatments, economically backward people may have to suffer.
This hospital has got the best neuro doctors team and physiotherapy team. This hospital still runs on humanity care which is lost by most of the hospitals now.
For me doctors here were like Gods on the earth to save the poor patients. I thank Dr Rakshit Kedambadi whole heartedly for all the treatment he gave for my father.

Worst service ever. They showcase as if they provide best service by not giving immediate appointment.

I got the appointment 6days back. I am here on time. I am at the hospital while I am giving this review.

I have been waiting with my 80years old grand parents. It’s been more than 2hrs now. We are still waiting.
30-40min makes sense, but 3-4 hrs of waiting, it’s nonsenses.

The management doesn’t care about their patients, they are just here to show that the hospital is busy and just interested in billing.

Let them make money, but let them not make patients look like beggars, begging to see the doctor. There are a lot of other places we could go, at least meet the same doctor in his private clinic, but we choose this place for a reason. But neither the hospital staff, nor the management do care about this.

We visited for pediatric neuro consultation. Taken prior appointment for 11.30 AM but doctor consultation done after 01.30 PM. These long waiting period required some additional fundamental facilities like baby feeding room. The room provided for feeding is also staff dress changing room. There is no proper seating facility available in the said room. Another one is in entrance, help desk is conjusted that there is no proper system of handing Appointment / registration.

Other than above looks normal. Doctor consultation is satisfactory.

This is just a suggestion to provide more convenient service.

A well equipped super speciality hospital among Karnataka with focused on neuro and brain. The Dr. Rajesh Shetty was a incredible man with nice behaviour and good consultation.

This was our first visit to First Nuero, and we are very thankful to Dr. Rajesh Shetty and his team for their specialist care, supervision and professionalism across the board. I would also like to express a big thank you to Ms. Rekha from insurance who patiently guided us through our many concerns with the claim process. I would highly recommend First Nuero.

The care and concern that we have received by the Special Ward's sisters in the First Neuro hospital is extraordinary.

Very worst experience in my entire visit. I never visited this type hospital till now who ever comes to consultation has spend the whole day in hospital.
There is no proper procedure in reception we had come with reference letter the reception staff is sending to the emergency and again the emergency staff is sending to reception what type of procedure is this. Doctor said for the
blood test the nursing staff is taking the blood in lab and is the only hospital the nursing staff are doing the lab work.again waiting for the blood report for more than 2 hrs. When blood report is ready doctor is not available again need to go emergency department. There is no adequate nursing staff, even in nursing there are only 2 staff available during emergency. I have heard a wording that emergency department is only for emergency but here it's completely different.

There is no respect for the time. Appointment is the only for the name and no one is following time

The hospital is well equipped to treat Neuro patients and their in-house Physiotherapy department adds lot of value to the setup. The doctors are great and at the same time very busy, so have to make best use of the time when they meet.
The nursing is good and caring, attenders must be watchful when the hospital wards are full, nursing team is sometimes overwhelmed
My father suffered a Stroke and was under tracheostomy care for 2 months in this hospital. Finally after 3 months with tracheostomy treatment, the doctors here were able to successfully remove the tracheostomy once swallowing returned to normal.

The overall experience in the hospital was good and I am hoping my father recovers completely from partial-paralysis in few months. The Billing and Insurance department is highly appreciated for handling the insurance claim process really well. Ms Rekha in the insurance team made the whole process seem like a breeze

The treatment was fine, Dr. Shetty explained things very nicely.but for getting discharge summary had to sit in the hospital for entire day.very bad experience on this as the staff were with only excuse faces n not giving exact time when the summary wld be ready.

One of worst service experience. Discharge summary was not ready at the time of patients discharge. We have been informed to collect the discharge summary next day morning at 10 am and till 3.30pm it was not ready. However it was not the case at the time of receiving the payment. It was not informed us to make the payment whenever we have money but have to make the payment immediately. This is the kind of experience no one should have. The rooms are very dirty. Please check the rooms before getting admitted.

Very worst experience in my last visit.
For EEG whole day I wasted and spent in hospital.
Next day they cal again for something wrong they find in MRI which took from UAE. Again they ask me to do MRI from hospital. I went well in advance and to make one simple paper for MRI I waited almost one hour. Nurses not allowed me to talk to Dr.
Finally when I went for MRI almost 3 hours waited. Less numbers of equipment. More waiting for each and every step.

If you visit to Hospital just make sure you have time and you have to spend full day in hospital due to high numbers of appointments and slow process.

Ther is no respect for the time. Appointment only the name and no one is follow the time.

Very very bad experience I had and I am not recommending to anyone this Hospital. They can do much better than present situation.

My daughter Fathima admitted in a serious condition to First Neuro Hospital for 2 months due to Brain Infections we didn't had any hope of recovery but Dr. Shruthi madam treated my 6 years old kid very well and after 2 months of treatment my kid is recovered all nursing staff, other Doctors of the hospital supported us our family is thankful to them

It was really very bad service. As I was suffering from heavy shoulder pain, directly went to hospital Emergency ward. Duty doctor or any nuro Sepcialist were not there at emergency ward at that time, as an emergency ward, hospital should keep atleast one or two duty doctors to take care of emergency patients. Both duty doctor and specialists went for normal rounds.

After one hour I had got appointment of " Dr-Mohammmed Shameem Kattathaduka.
He asked to take MRI scan and given 2 weeks medicine to continue.
At the same day night, my shoulder pain got increased and I admitted in Highland hospital. Dorctors from Highland hospital were very cooperative, friendly and good talking all the times

My advice to hospital is: Please don't keep any fresh neuro specialist doctors and try to get well experienced doctors always. Patients are expecting to recover the deases soon, kindly keep that always in mindset

Outstanding hospital! Doctor Rakshith has been treating my husband and his expertise and treatment has been amazing. Really helpful and cooperative insurance staff! Have helped me a lot every time my husband was admitted.

Nurses were all very friendly, polite and helpful. I especially loved how Dr. Rakshith really took his time to explain patients conditions with us. The physiotherapy team here is very professional and took good care of the patient. Housekeeping staff was excellent and provided us the best service. But a little upset with the pharmacy staff they can be more polite and less rude (not the whole staff but a particular girl not familiar with her name though). Thank you

This five star is for doctor Rajesh Shetty. When it comes to hospital only one star because of the fact it is not well organised. Its hard to make out the queue. Even people who come after us are going directly in. No one around to manage the the patients.

My father has been receiving Parkinson's management here since it opened and has been getting follow-up consulatations every 3-4 months since then. The facility is well run and has everything integrated: radiology, surgery, pharmacy, consultations, physiotherapy, etc.on site. When you are an in-patient, they bring in specialists for non-neuro treatment if needed. Dr. Rajesh Shetty is the man! He's highly data-driven and takes a copious amount of notes. He has one assistant in his consultations just to take down notes. He is approachable, welcomes questions and actually listens. Swetha has done magic for us when we had exceptional situations. Recently she responded and got us scheduled on short notice even though, unbeknown to us, she was out on sick leave. That's going well beyond the call of duty. Also, do not underestimate the physiotherapy here. My dad came in unconscious and immobile neck-down on a stretcher. They had him walking out on his own after 1 month of in-patient stay.

Doctors are very friendly and explains about the problem and treatment clearly and in detailed. Coperative staffs, well maintained wards and good nursing care.

One of the best hospital, I can suggest for neurology related problems.

Appointment timing given but patients have to wait for more than 2 hours for consultation which is not at all professional for a hospital.

Our experience with the reception, staff, canteen and doctor was good.

The negative experience is this.

* There is no REAL appointment time. You are called at a time and so will be 50 other patients at the same time. So it is essentially first come first serve

* There is no preference for senior citizens. No matter what problems they have or their age, they have to just wait.

This is my 2nd visit here and to see my 75 year old father stage 5 prakinsons patient struggle with waiting hours is bad. Or maybe this is how things are everywhere and I will need to accept how it is

It does not make sense to call everyone at the same time and make everyone wait

Preference always should go to Senior citizens and those in emergencies.

Requesting the management to investigate in improving queue management techniques for better customer experience.

Make us wait atleast for 3 hours.
EDIT: Its been 4 hours still didn't meet doctor! They made us pay the fees even before the check up.

First Neuro is one of the best and finest hospitals in manglore for neuro related cases. My sister was admitted here after getting discharged from another hospital. More than 2 months in First Neuro was a very good experience.
I specially love to mention Dr. SHISHIR such an amazing personality. Dr. SKANDA MOORTHY is good kind hearted person.

Dr. Rajesh shetty explained everything in detail about the treatment.front office manager Ms Shwetha coordinated well and She was also kind and friendly. All of the staff was great – they were helpful, patient and helped with my mothers consultation.

6 years ago I took my dad to this hospital, they did MRI and told there is a tumor and it cant be removed by any chance, there is nothing they could do.
Dr. Sunil shetty went ahead and said nobody else could do surgery for this case and threw the the file! Can you believe such an act from a surgeon!?
I took my dad to Bangalore and he got his surgery and he is doing absolutely fine even after 6 years now.
If they are not competent enough to do something, they should at least tell us, instead they have arrogance like "If I couldn't treat this case, nobody else can! "

Had a very bad experience from the front desk, the lady named swetha sitting there don't have any knowledge about their work, she doesn't know how to give a letter for shifting a patient from abroad, and she doesn't know how to behave with people.

Doctors that I visit is Pediatric Neurologist and they are good. However, we have lot of waiting time. Plus the hospital environment could be improved.

The initial registration process in worse, no matter how serious ur health condition is but "PROCESS IS PROCESS" i had visited the hospital they asked me to sit but the ones who came after me finished their registration and even consultation. I am having severe migraine and I asked if they can do something about it and all I get is wait.it's more than 3 hours and the ones after me finished consulting.this is the worst day and choice of my life.

I wouldn't recommend to any if they are here for consultation.

No matter what happens to patient but process has to be followed.

All facilities in this hospital is too good. Doctors are so nice and good. Dr. Rajesh Shettys way of talking gives extra power to patients. As well as no words for Dr. Skanda moorthy. His surgery is too good and careful. Both the doctors clearly clarify the patients doubts. It's a good hospital with good facilities.

For a MRI scaning we are waiting here from last 2 hour, and also it will take 4 hour more.
Why the system too slow? Rest everything was good, frnt staff, attenders.for the first time I am being here and it's worst

Good hospitality but appointment time is too bad, patients cant wait for 15 days and also when they come to hospital they have to wait for more then 3 to 4 hours.this should be solved for convinience of patients.other then that good doctors good faculty.

It was an wonderful experience of my internship in first neuro it was an great experience with people all around as well the great administration Dept.

Good doctors good facilities but too feels like costly but worth its it is best hospital in Mangalore specially for treatment for stroke and and most time of brain treatments its provides a great services and it clean toilet and also beds

Very poor management. Horrible waiting time even if we already book appointment. And so many people go inside without appointment also. My appointment was @3.30 and I waited till 6.30

Hospital and arrangements of hospital is considerably good enough but the team administration is not proper.

1. Staffs show less attention.
2. There is no follow up on reports.
3. People are made to wait for long.
4. No token system, instead influential system is found where in the name of emergency people do dominate here.
5. Staffs do their work helplessly because it's the orders given by doctors to push forth people in high contacts in name of emergency.
6. Consultation fees is collected before consultation.
7. Dominative orders in name of emergency by higher administration & its consequences are faced by the innocent staffs.
8. Reports of patients are not followed up.
9. People travelling from far should be given initial priority or alternative lineup.
10. Found water stored and getting polluted in outdoor sheets of second floor which may lead to diseases.
11. No proper quality service given, do keep in mind its a profession of quality service for monetary transaction but not for profit and business.

My Dad was admitted here due to stroke. First Neuro is one of the best and finest hospitals in Mangalore for Neuro related cases. I am extremely impressed with their knowledge, treatment and behaviour. I have always found all the staffs from the doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, canteen staff, admin staff, cleaners and attendees to be outstanding and the care we received was faultless. They are very much aware of the importance of mind in healing and everyone had a sparkling smile in their face which makes you feel so good and be positive.

Last week my mother was admitted in the First Neuro. Our experience during the stay was very good. Clean room and toilet! Well-coordinated efforts by nursing and support staff towards patient care. Dr. Rajesh Shetty, Dr. Skanda, Dr. Shishir and the Neuro Rehab team were very supportive and encouraging. Other positive thing about them was the discharge process which was very smooth and quick. Dissatisfied, we came from Madikeri rural and we had took the appointment before but no use of it we had waited for long time and more over hospital ppl shld give first preference to those who came from far distance, and we are standing we dont have seating facilities such an poor hospital. Kindly take this as serious and give first preference to those who came from far distance. I don't suggest this hospital, better you can go somewhere good hospital in Mangalore, this hospital spoiling Mangalore's good name. Worst patient service.

First Neuro is one of the best hospital in Mangalore, Very good doctors and staff. My dad was brought to first Neuro in a bad condition from another hospital, Dr. Rajesh Shetty was informed, immediate attention was given, surgery was done and now he is fine. The hospital rooms are very good and very clean. Even the reception staff were very co-operative especially Mr. Praveen.

Very costly. Just an follow up Costs 800 bucks. They will make you wait for 3 hours from the time which was given while taking appointments.
Very arrogant staff.
Not at all recommended.

Recently had a close relative admit to this Hospital on Emergency. We interacted with Dr. Rakshit who provided a good service and guidance. Hospital wards are clean. Billing department, especially Mr. Praveen, were very helpful and responsive on medical and billing inquiries, updates and prompt handling of records over courier.

Some improvements: Canteen can be improved with some more choices, especially in the evening for outsiders (non-locals). Nursing staff were overall professional and good, but a few of them can be more courteous.
