Typically they take weeks to reply to queries or you will have to remind them or pay a direct visit.

First of all the security guards don't allow you inside, and their helpline number is just to stall the people, and when u meet any officials and ask them questions they don't answer anything their only reply is mail them and upon mailing them you don't get a reply back at all.
So basically u are left with no choice but to keep wondering.

It is my humble request to the Consulate General of Germany in Bengaluru to expedite the time for submission of applications for special cook category from VFS, which is currently 15 months. Chefs are fed up and frustrated with waiting so long to submit their documents. Recently also VFS deleted all the data of those applicants who had applied and were in the waiting list. VFS is not working properly and does not support its customers as most of the queries are not dealt with in a fair manner. VFS comes up with its own rules without informing anyone either. On behalf of myself and other chefs, I request you to pay serious attention to this. This matter.

As there is no 0 to give. I am surprised with number of positive comments. I wonder if its paid review.
1) VFS refused to take additional documents that were necessary to support the application. I was fine as I was waiting for interview date from German consulate
2) German Consulate, God know they have a transparent visa process? Didn't call for interview nor asked for additional documents. Made a decision which was incorrect.
3) Submit papers for remonstration process before the due date, They neither acknowledged or asked for additional documents. Followed up in dec with same political correct answer takes time. They asked me send documents again having not received, so sent again. Yet again, no email acknowledgment. Finally, on my 3rd follow up with hard worded e mail, they take the pain to go through the e mails to realise they have an issue & haven't received all documents. Sent 5 diff mails to address the technical issue.
4) Finally, they made a decision but fail to communicate the same to customer, till I asked them. & God, their bureaucracy puts even Indian bureaucracy to shame.my address was incorrect on the letter & all documents scanned with application was messy & didnt have a flow.no wonder the decision remained same. If they think every Indian is beggar born & looking to abscond on reaching Germany then they should close all immigration services & stop begging students to study in Germany especially Private university. Charging Rs. 18,000 to verify university documents is a ripping students & their families.no comments on the staff behaviour either. I wonder what does our External Ministry is doing? Apart from having war of words with those criticize PM or India. Any meaningful work is 0. Visa processing is broken, done by incompetent staff & 0 transparency. One may think the negative review is due to rejection, not really, having travelled Europe & resided in Europe. I am not desperate to join university for the sake of absconding on reaching Germany.

Easy to locate building. Entrance to consulate is through the left side of the building. Responded promptly to my email enquiries. Reached 30 minutes early than my appointment time, but surprisingly they allowed me to enter consulate and done my attestation.

I humbly request you to reconsider the people attending or making phone calls. After paying all the fees prescribed and documents requested for a family visa, we expect basic level of decency or customer relationship. The poor communication skills used by your staff is terrible and rude. I can see most of the negative reviews on your consulate is for this same reason.

Please preserve the German quality and your counsulate reputation

Whole process went smooth, staffs were polite and cooperative.make sure you have all the documents mentioned in the checklist including demand draft

Very poor customer service. And not responsible foreverer. No email reply no phone call attending. Applied visa for 8 months they did not respond till yet.

Giving one star as there is no option to give zero. I applied for German dependent visa, it's been three weeks, there is no update on my visa while my wife stamping was done in less than five days. I feel there is absolutely no transparency in their visa process, they don't respond to repeated mail requests nor we could reach through their help line no. Fun part is they have a help line no.for visa queries from 2-3: 30 Monday to Thursday, and any given day you hear the same response that all the customer care executives arebus, we will connect with you shortly.

One of the worst experience i had here,
1st of all they don't have sitting arrangement for people who visits, 2nd they don't have token system, 3rd no one will reply to your questions on email or mails we need to visit there without appointments and wait for there employees to get in contact with us, Please don't visit here if you are waiting for your Visa for long, as they will provide same response to wait.
Atleast provide sitting arrangements for people who have come or provide appointments for queries so that they don't need to waste there entire day time for your personal waiting.
8am to 4pm is want written the timing but no one will work in this hours.

Having been calling them continuously (German consultate Bengaluru slot timing for visa queries from 2 to 3.30), no body picks the call, have dropped them an email, no response. Vfs says we need ro check with consultate as they do not hve control. Really don't understand why is it so difficult for them to respond to customer queries on visa.it's been 3 months already still haven't heard from them on the visa status.vfs just takes money bsating they say provide status updates, but just pathetic service

Very bad experience, they didn’t even pick up calls or even responses mails for past two months. Very bad communication channel you have atleast you can respond to the mail. Still waiting for the response.

Went for VISA with family. Pleasant experience. Land early and be polite with the staff. They will ask questions in high pitch, maintain calm and answer to the point. They expect you to know some things and be true to them. Go prepared with what all you should carry and organize them in sequence as per their checklist. It will help you get things done quickly. Their checklist explains all and keep docs in same sequence.

I had my interview in April 2022, everything went well, all the people I met were kind enough to answer my questions about the fee as I took cash, the only issue is that we need to wait for visa appointment once you confirm the date, take all documents as per the checklist.

2 months ago, my wife called the consulate to ask if we need a transit visa to travel from India to UK via Germany. I have an email response saying we do not. A colleague mentioned to re-check so I asked the same question, and got the same response. Then, my wife replied to the consulate again that there was confusion about this matter. And the consulate replies saying they were wrong and that we needed a transit visa after all. Can you imagine a consulate itself is unclear about the visa process, and there is an expectation that we would know it?

My wife went applied for the German visa. As a result of this back-and-forth, we did not have enough time and had to withdraw the processing and re-book our flights. As a result, we lost a lot of money on my wife's Lufthansa airline non-refundable ticket and the visa processing costs. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM LUFTHANSA AND GERMANY TRANSIT TRAVEL if you can help it.

Anybody can help me? It's very worst. I'm calling from one week they are not ready to pick the call. If we visit the office they won't allow us inside. If we track the visa it's showing its in German Embassy. I'm not able to figure out about the status of my visa application.

Emails and chat with VFS and consulate results in generic reply.

German consulate definitely needs a good communication and technology team.

Slow processes and no way to know the status of visa application. All I know is under processing for many days in vfs tracker

The staff was very rude. My little brother was there was his visa interview today. The lady who interviewed him was extremely rude and did not even ask him to take a seat. She made him stand the entire time and write up the needed documents. It obviously takes a toll on his confidence for the interview.

Many have told not able connect with consulat Bangalore similar to my case. Can some1 pls guide me on next steps

The main problem with this consulate is that they don't respond to any emails and call never gets connected. Please have a communication team who can handle and respond to these emails and calls, so that the customers can have a more smoother experience with the consulate.

This is a German consulate but doesn't work in a German way. Please try to respond to the emails you get.

No proper response. After visa interview they had asked me open a blocked account but they didn’t gave me back my original passport and I have went to German consulate and vfs almost 15days back to back but of no use since security was not allowing inside to talk because they need mail proof and German consulate is not sending any mail proof for me. I am scared thinking that whether my passport is lost. When I call German helpline the person is speaking very rude and also vfs helpline always ask me to send email but I don’t get valid response instead all general response. This was frustrating me from last 20days.

Attended interview for employment visa. It went well without any hassles. The visa fee has to be given as DD only and I had to take that but since there are a lot of nearby branches, it wasn't much of a problem. Everyone there was helpful.

Canceled visa appointments for German national visa are not displaying. Visa appointment for April 2020 are coming.my friend canceled appointment on 23rd canceled it 3days before that, did not appear any time waited 24x7 refreshing embbasy website.

Yesterday 27th appointment canceled, waited whole night and day for appointment to come. Did not come at all.

I don't know Germany is developed country or backword country. Embbasy people behave like Hitler brother and sisters, nobody responds for and email. They literally make you small.

It's A Fish Market more than A Consulate. The security staff is worst than one can imagine with ZERO professionalism. Top of that there is NO WASH ROOM for Loo.

1. Change oft security staff/Front desk staff is NEEDED.
2. They need only 1 set of documents. But this is not updated in the website.

I went there yesterday to renew my german passport. The atmosphere was very friendly, polite, supportive and understanding.
The service was first class.
My new passport was ready in less then 4 weeks. Thank you so much.

It is really bad that a German Consulate is behaving like an typical worst government office.
For the first week of January I booked the visa appointment at Bangalore consulate in the month of September. I took the appointment from the website which is mentioned by consulate.when I went there the officials are saying that my name is not on the list for the desired date. I was really worried and tensed. I even had the confirmation email which they sent after booking an appointment. But they didn't allow me to have my visa interview.

My experience at the German consulate was good and bad.

Bad because of the slightly plus-sized lady with darkish complexion on Counter #4 (25th October 2018;11: 00 - 11: 20)

She was unnecessarily rude and if you don't have the things prepared exactly the way she expected it (I had all the documents in the right order, but they were not bundled), be prepared to deal with a lot of sarcasm and condescension from her part.

(This is not just my opinion, I overheard multiple people who went before me have similar opinion about her.)

It's unfair for this behaviour to happen when you had to wait for 3 months for the appointment.

The good news is the visa processing took just 5 working days.

If anyone at the consulate is reading this, try to understand, this was a very stressful situation for me (as I'm sure for others too) and for a staff of yours to treat us this way is just unacceptable. The very least they could do is to make us comfortable and feel welcomed (and I want to stress this happened with only the person I mentioned above, everyone else was polite and professional)

Here's how you need to prepare the documents:
- 3 bundles of documents in the right order.
- Everything that requires a signature MUST BE signed.
- Photo must be pasted on the application using a glue stick, not a
normal glue.

Questions I was asked:
1. Name of the company
2. What type of contract it was, the length of the contract, and my salary.

I have booked the appointment for national visa on 27 January 2020. I got the confirmation email also. But when I reached the office on 27 January at the appointment time they are saying that my name is not in the list.

Fast and correct response for the queries. I thank all of them fixing the blocking issue online and response with in time to get the visa. Be prepare before going to the queue and ask relevant questions in of FAQ.this will help you and make them happy to resolve your issues.

No parking and security people charge 150 rs unofficially else they wont allow you in. Cheap maintenance and ill behaviour people. No basic facilities like washrooms.

Limited slots for appointment even though there is a high demand. Should consider increasing the number of slots.

~Extremely rude, try to be patient while submitting documents they will test your patience.
~Never use a provisional degree for work permit like me its a rejection now.
~If you call them for visa inquiries in given time after 2 pm never will they answer.
~ Processing times in my work permit was 1.5 months. Got rejected, in remonstration now.since 2 months. Told me on face it might take 3 months or 6 months.

Inefficient, disorganized and rude staff. Be prepared for very long wait times, even for minor tasks.

I have never seen such an irresponsible place in my life. The authorities in German embassy are playing with the life’s of thousand of nurses.
As per law, a A2 certification in German language is enough for the nurses to get the national visa, but the German embassy in Bangalore is not issuing the visa for the right candidates.
They have different rules for different candidates. Some times they will issue the visa for the nurse with A2 certification, some times with B1 and some times giving weightage for B2 only. That means they issue visa for the candidates with B2 certification only.

There is a well known connection with the German embassy and the Goethe institute. Both the parties are making the money, they share the commission each other.

The candidates are taking too much pain for the entire process of visa application. The money, time, every thing at total lose.

More over, taking an visa interview appointment is an impossible task. Agents are taking appointments for the candidates. That means the agents only can take the visa appointments. There also a well established connection with the embassy and the agents.

No one is there to correct all these unethical practices. Let the candidates suffer.

Customer service is not up to mark more over staff is behaviour is really bad also not enough space for people in waiting.

Consulate officers and security staff were cool enough to guide you with required instructions and they are helpful.
There is no parking facility.
