The staff was arrogant, i was just enquiring if an out of print comic was available and was trying to describe it, the staff kept shouting "NO" without listening

This bookstore in a basement in Church Street is the best The bookkeeper is very kind enough to pick out books for me whenever I ask for suggestions the books are amazing

The owner was very friendly and helpful, it's a nice place to find hidden gems, having said that the store could be a bit better organised and maintained.

A different sort of book store that I visited two years ago. They have a lot of used books and also possess new ones (though not many). A quaint and decent bookstore where you can find many a hidden lesser known books. They also put some offers from time to time. A great book shop!

Edited my review after the indecent behavior of Shop owner, Please see the screenshot of my earlier review below. I ordered a book from them in March 2021 which I didn't received till August 2021, and the shop owner didn't had decency to inform about book through mail until I mailed (in 23 mails all mail from him are reply to my mail & not direct mails from him to address the delay), the chain of mails happened till August, My patience level was gone as I had paid for book in march so I mailed him requesting to discuss about refund to which he didn't replied for three days so my husband called him. My husband informed him with all details that he is speaking on my behalf but he was not listening at all instead he kept yelling that please don't call us, just email us. My husband asked him to sort this on same day or we will register a complaint about it as fraud, so we emailed him again. This time he replied saying the book will arrive by weekend but I requested him to cancel and refund my order as this has been ongoing since months now. He did cancelled and refunded and charged 100 Rs as cancellation fees too. After paying in advance and waiting for months I had to pay cancellation charge (I have not received any T & C from shop owner while placing order that I cannot ask for refund or cancellation after 5 months delay too and cancellation was offered by him in his reply) and yet he is crying here that I cancelled after book arrived, what kind of service is that? And it didn't ended here, someone posted a review on nearby date and shop owner assumed its my friend and he wrote a derogatory reply to it mentioning my name, my social media profile link and LinkedIn profile, which was removed only after I mailed him to remove it or else I will raise a complaint and now he has again shared the same. But shop owner also requested me to ask that other person (whom I don't know) to remove his review. Why should I ask someone to remove their review? I am a freelancer so I understand its not easy running a business and have been nothing but kind and patient in this whole situation but this is last straw. If you don't know how to run a business please stop wasting time & money of people. And you cannot threaten your customer if they write negative but honest review. I do not know if I am the only person who has gone through such horrible experience with this shop but certainly this is not acceptable behavior and even after all this I didn't write a negative review but now I am forced to write one so that no one goes through this ordeal by ordering from this shop. Please be careful to order from this shop they might threaten you for sharing your bad experience by posting your professional or personal details.
For Shop owner: My sister has given bad review to you after your illogical replies and bad service like you have given bad review about my business which you have never contacted for any project. If you can give bad reviews to anyone without any reason so can other people who have seen their family go through distress because of your bad behavior. And about buying from independent stores, I have been doing my best to support independent stores before your shop too and will continue. One can easily see from your unpleasantries who is spoilt here. Rest about your review on my business, Please try your best because I don't treat my clients with such petty behavior but with utmost respect and you just proved my point that instead of working on improving your service, how low you can go. I hope whoever reads this, takes this as caution before doing any business with you. You are your most honest reviewer, every reply you have given to negative reviews here shows real you.

Cozy bookstore which can surprise you with it's collection. Senor Goobe is kind enough to get books that you ask/recommend as well! You also get treated to chai some evenings. It's my monthly (sometimes weekly) pilgrimage.

Had an absolute serene time at the book store. It's like a had its own vibe.
The owner is super helpful, he found a signed copy of my friend's favorite poet!
Would definitely visit the place again!

This used to be one of my favourite independent bookstore in Bangalore until today when I got blocked from their Instagram account over a political indifference. I have no ill will towards the store as it is charming and rustic with a good collection of books, nevertheless I was appalled by this kind of behaviour. Though in the Instagram poll there was a warning about getting blocked for choosing incorrect (according to them), I was a little upset because I have bought books from them despite the varying political opinions and I believe in supporting local bookstores. My review might seem petty and childish to some but I was surprised to be a subject of political prejudice and getting blocked from their official Instagram account. I will not buy books from Goobe’s anymore.

Horrible experience with the bookstore.

The owner is a strange person and behaves quite rude with any customer who enters the shop. He has no basic courtesy or etiquette and is probably suffering from some mental depression.
He doesn’t care if u have come from 2hrs of driving with a 4 year old. All he cares is he has to make profits on selling second hand books (duh!)

Nice Place. The owner needs to chill a little. The employee on the counter is well behaved and helpful. The shop seems a bit off. I came with my mother and the owner stated flirting with her. Not a women friendly place. Also the music played in the shop is vulgar and boring. But the employee looking after the shop makes the place serene and bearable. Shop is in a very shabby place and not visible from the main road.

PS: The owner smells like an ash tray of cigarettes.

3 hours well spent! Love the blind date with a book idea as well - definitely coming back for it:)
