Gowrav Homestay

I went there for my babymoon in April. The weather was surprisingly pleasant and beautiful. The approach road was very neatly done. The ambience of this place is so gorgeous that we extended our stay for another day.
And the food. Omg the spread of culinary heaven. So many dishes and cuisines to choose from. It was an absolute delight.
The hosts were extremely friendly, gracious and very warm.
And there were puppies and dogs that were very cute and entertaining. Beautiful homestay and it is surrounded by some lovely sight places as well. All in all a 10/10 experience

The hospitality was good with awesome Malnad cuisine. Although we would have preferred better rooms with cleaner wash rooms which had a constant stench, considering the tariff we paid. Also better recreational facilities would really add value: sports equipments, carrom or other board games. To add, for pet lovers, it's a welcome place as they have dogs and they allow you to take your pets as well!

It's a great place. We visited for New Year. Stayed for 2 days. I think it was worth every penny.
Food was too good. Campfire and ambience is also awesome.
Everything was best. I would like to thank Abhi and teams hospitality & quick response. Thanks for making this new year a great memory for us.

This was one of the best places I have ever stayed in. The owner, Anup, is very humble and amicable. He ensures that the guests are comfortable at all times. He always keeps a check on your needs. The food is pretty delicious and you will get much more than you can eat. The homestay is located in the midst of lush green environment. If you are looking forward to a relaxing and calm vacation, this is the place.

The place is awsome, food was good and very refreshing from day to day life.kids can also enjoy.

Gaurav Home Stay is an Awesome Place, Our Corporate Team had visited Last weekend to this place, and its an Awesome Venue to Hang out, The Acoustics of that Venue is almost like a 5 Star grade, The Food is so tasty and feels like having home made Delicious food, i have visited here for 6th Time and i always like to visit here to get relaxed and enjoy the nature, i would say its a Value for money, i would like to thank the Owner of this place who took care of our team so well and feels like visiting again and again. Gaurav Home Stay Rocks.

Loved the hospitality of the folks who worked here. Great place for a corporate outing. No restrictions for loud music nor drinks! Very well maintained and clean rooms. Will definitely love to visit again.

I visited Gowrav Homestay in early July (2017). I'll try to summarise my experience in a way that is useful.

Getting there: 4/5

The final approach road needs to be paved. It's really in a bad shape. Direction boards need improving.

Property, and setting: 5/5

Beautiful setting. Sit outside your room (or peek out the window), and you see rain-bearing clouds rolling down the hillside. Lush green. In the middle of nature. The villa is well-maintained. Nice architecture. Traditional wooden furniture, well-blended with modern amenities in the common areas.

Rooms: 4/5

There is room for improvement.

Bathrooms: 3/5

One of the bathrooms (we had two rooms) was not very good.the water drain was a dirty gaping hole.the geyser was not efficient. No handwash. No shampoo.

Cleanliness: 3/5

Rooms/bathrooms were cleaned just before we reached.no housekeeping after that.

Food: 5/5

Awesome! Both veg and non-veg items were very tasty.

People: 5/5

Friendly, helpful, always obliging. Balu, our local-guide, and point person was superb.

Sightseeing: 5/5

Balu - the property's man Friday - took us to the right spots to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the place. My mother is not particularly mobile. Balu ensured that we could drive to almost all the places we visited. He took me and my father to a hilltop, which was a short walk up, while my mother stayed in the car.

Action needed:

There's a bunch of dogs that live in a pen on the property. The pen is unimaginably dirty, and when you walk by it, the stench is unbearable. The dogs are ungroomed, and mostly kept locked in the pen. The result: incessant barking. And there is dog doo all over the property (when you step outside the villa gate). The living condition of the dogs needs immediate improvement. These are breeds that do well living with people. When locked away, they go cranky, and bark a lot.
