Good Historic Place but Muslims have accumulated the place inside and made homes inside. Govt has taken action on this but still few are not ready to go. This makes me to give 2 rating to this place.

Overall Fort Boundary is very huge.
Inside there is one fort structure that is well maintained and 3 canons on top.
There is one masjid but the road is separate for both. On the fort 30mins is maximum and for masjid 30 mins.
So one can spend 1 hour to see both. And apart from these there are public settlements within the fort.
No tickets required. You can visit it free of cost.

Gulbarga Fort, also known as Kalaburagi Fort, is a historical marvel located in the city of Kalaburagi (formerly known as Gulbarga) in the Indian state of Karnataka. This imposing fort is a testament to the rich history of the region and has played a significant role in various dynasties and empires over the centuries.

The fort was originally constructed during the reign of the Kakatiya dynasty in the 14th century and later expanded and strengthened by the Bahmani Sultanate. Its strategic location atop a granite hill made it a formidable defensive structure. Inside the fort, you'll find a mix of architectural styles, including Islamic and Hindu influences.

One of the most notable features of Gulbarga Fort is the Jama Masjid, an impressive mosque within the fort complex. The Jama Masjid is known for its stunning architecture, with finely detailed arches and domes. It's a significant religious and historical site.

Exploring the fort, you'll come across remnants of royal palaces, ornate tombs, and several imposing gateways. The fort's design and layout reflect the architectural grandeur of its time.

Gulbarga Fort stands as a remarkable testament to the region's history and architectural heritage. It's not only a must-visit for history enthusiasts but also offers a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of Karnataka and the Deccan region.

It is also known as Kalaburagi Fort. Fort was originally built by Raja Gulchand of Warangal, Gulbarga Fort was later ruled by Alauddin Hasan Bahman Shah, the ruler of the Bahmani dynasty.
The fort is a monumental structure highly fortified with 15 towers mounted with 26 guns; each gun located inside the fort is 8 metres (26 ft) long and is still well preserved.

Today people are living inside this fort. Not a well preserved historical place.

As I've born & bought up in Glb I visited this plc very long time ago & still visit with my relatives if they've not seen this plc. The craze of ppl was enormous due to its amazing monuments, structures of 15 pillars which were used to defend from the enemy attacks, heavy guns.
Now most of the ppl come for photo shoot, play outdoor games, try to spoil the heritage by writing something on the walls, throwing stones. Presently, certain tourist spots are locked in the Fort which don't have access because the local ppl didn't maintain it well
It is said- you should not go to Fort after 6-7 PM, I don't know what will happen but it's not safe to go after dark
