All the exhibits are in good condition. The museum is well maintained with proper legible boards explaining lot about the exhibits. But a lot more could be done. Probably a guided tour would help. May be have some more history printed near each of the jets/helicopters etc.
Nothing is maintained properly plus nothing much to see. Souvenir shop is also bad, nothing that you can buy.
The price is Rs. 50 per person (adult) and Rs. 20 for carrying a mobile phone (i.e per mobile Rs. 20). For children the entry fee is Rs. 30. The price is not much but not worth what's inside. There could have been more information, photos, recreations of the jets that have seen action and how it played an important role in the previous wars, future developments etc. I wouldn't recommend a visit.
Nice place to visit, parking facilities are there adjacent to the main campus. There is motion show for adults and children, but it has long waiting time, so book it in advance once you enter the campus. Post your complete journey, check if your turn has come up. A small canteen is also there for refreshments.
A must visit for aerospace enthusiasts and kids. Though the aeroplanes are dummy, the museum gallery has historical pictures and records of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd inception to difference decades of development. The different galleria presenting pictures and images along with Hall of Fame of prominent personalities of HAL. This includes development team of LCA Tejas, UAV Lakshya, and many other aeronautical technological development stories. There is an adjacent parking space free of cost as well a canteen and refreshment center. This is small place could be explored in 3-4 hours including Flight Simulation.
One of the best experience in my life as an aviation lover, felt awesome by looking these amazing flying machine in person. One can clearly understand the contribution of HAL to Indian Airforce after visiting this museum. Students and those who want to learn about air force and aviation lovers can visit the museum to learn a lot of things.
Great experience here. You can explore the aerospace history of India from here. Here we can enjoy a cool and refreshing atmosphere. Best place to come with children. This will be a greater experience for them also.
Great place to visit for kids and adults alike! It showcases the aerospace history of India. Entry fee is 50 and mobile camera fee is 20.
In one hall, you have photographs of events related to HAL and flight history in general. There is also an 8 minute documentary that is showcased multiple times everyday (check the timetable).
In the other hall, there is a flight simulator that has 2 versions: One for Kids and the other is for Adults. The Adult one costs 100 and it is just a flight simulation video game. Can be avoided!
Outside there are model airplanes with all details mentioned. The garden is extremely well maintained. There is a cafeteria as well.
I will give only 3 star. They need to exhibit fighter aircrafts which are in service or has been retired recently. They need to give visitors an opportunity to check the cockpit of those fighter jets.
Make things interesting for our new generation so that they become interested in aviation.
Good place to get a gist of Indian Aerospace heritage and understand HAL contribution. Has several aircrafts and engines on display. Descent canteen and kids play area. Good place for a half day visit.
Well kept lawns, well maintained artifacts, very beautiful park for kids and the bathrooms and very old yet pristine. Malls and other places that literally loot people of their money should see how a place can be kept this neat and clean.
50 rupees for adult + 20 for mobile camera, some money for other cameras. In my opinion, it is worth the money. (for people like museums and engineering curiosity)
Old aircrafts are displayed with name, capabilities, year of first flight and all.
A brief video of HAL and it's product portfolio will be displayed in projector I a timely manner
Also there is a virtual simulator, which I didn't find very amusing.
There is display of Hidustan Aeronautical Ltd's journey through years. Also play park for kid are available.
Conclusion: place to go with family, school or college picnic.
NB: card or hard cash is needed to take take ticket in the entrance as well as simulator counter. UPI apps are not gonna be accepted as on September 2021.
Must visit the museum in Banglore. Kids will surely enjoy this museum ride. So many fighter aircraft & helicopters. If possible go on week days. Ticket charges for adult is 50 Rs. & for child it's 30 Rs. They charge 50 Rs. For still camera & 20 Rs. For each mobile camera.
Loved the museum. Got to know about the journey and history of aeronautical enhancement through the years till date after independence. Worth to visit one time. An awesome place to visit for the people who love aeronautics.
This museum shows history of Indian Air Force and how India achieved the technical advancement in aerospace engineering. Museum content is good enough in terms of antique aircrafts but entry fees and mobile phone entry charge is bit high.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited or HAL is India’s first and only aviation museum which was established in 2001. It has a large collection of aircraft models, photographs, fighter planes, and helicopters. There are also aircraft simulators, a mock air traffic control tower. It is situated at the intersection of HAL Old Airport Road & Basavanagar Road. It is about 17 Kms from the Bengaluru City Railway Station. The Heritage Centre & Aerospace Museum is sprawled over 4 acres of lush green land.
Must visit with family and kids. You will get to know history and growth of HAL. A small snacks shop inside you can buy water, cold drinks and some snacks.
Congratulations to HAL for having and maintaining this center. The place is a lot cleaner and garden is well maintained with a variety of pretty flowering plants, including a orchidarium (looks like its not open for general public, no one cared to let people know why it's closed) The entry fees is nominal and affordable. I've visited this place multiple times.in the past. Looks like HAL has to immediately work on maintaining the quality of exterior physical exibits. Its sad to see dents and holes in some of the aircrafts. The quality of the exhibit aircrafts are super important. We have to bear in mind the visiting children will see and develop enthusiasm towards aviation. HAL must display professionalism and strive to pass on quality and passion to that generation.
We can get knowledge by visiting this museum and landscapes gardens, wide variety of flower plants give us happiness. Cafeteria is good and even we can take our own food and eat under trees, so much place is there to sit for lunch with wide stone tables.
Must visit place for kids and engineering students specially mech and aeronautical.very well maintained museum.however I do not agree for charging for each mobile phone separately even though we are using only one phone for taking pics.
It is a museum where we feel awe and proud of the contributions HAL has given us to the security of the nation. Situated just opposite to the HAL airport, it houses a lot of vintage airplanes, fighter jets, helicopters. The museum also has a series of timeline photos from the time of the formation to its present. The only drawback that I feel is that the entry fee is quite high especially when you wish to take photos of the place. But Overall it is a nice experience.
Worth visiting, incredible collection of indigenously built aircrafts and copters by HAL from as early as 1940.it's important for visit this place leisurely and not in a hurry.
Wish we could visit the Simulators which are special attraction. Overall a great experience and a place worth visiting.
This is a place for the people who are interested in Indian Aircrafts. Models of the aircrafts designed by HAL are displayed and you can also see the turbo jet engines like Turbo-Prop engines.
One can see a number of aeroplanes and helicopters that have been a part of our Air Force here. However thats it. No guided tours, no entry into any plane, so one doesnt really experience it from inside. The audio visual show ends up being just an advertisement of the institution. The simulator games are pretty okay. Also, one expects a lot more from the country's flagship institute. A lot more can be arranged and achieved, such as explaining how an aeroplane works, having various models that explain various aspects of aerodynamism, getting children and youth to themselves create models etc. This will create a widespread interest in the aeronautics field. The institute is well maintained. Staff is polite and cooperative.
HAL museum is a well maintained must see tourist attraction in the heart of Bengaluru. This place is very well maintained. Even the gardening staff are doing a good job here. You will be able to get good knowledge about aerospace engineering. I strongly feel this is an ideal place to get kids. It would take approximately 90 minutes to see this place. Good Job team. Cheers
Only aerospace museum in India apparently. Good effort and ambience; but only in India will you find clothes drying within the premises of a museum and utter disrespect for history and heritage that is greater than many other countries put together.
Hope HAL management takes this into account and take cues from other countries like US UK etc.
It's a awesome and beautiful Museum first time in my life to see such a historical aviation museum and thanks to our govt to build such kind of museum which helps people to know how it's invented.
It's a pleasure to see the evolution of HAL with old aircrafts to modern ones. There are some helicopters, radar, engines. You can also experience the joy of motion simulator. There is a separate decade wise photo gallery inside.
Overall with a visit of 1.5 to 2 hours we can better appreciate the great legacy of HAL
Good to see and know about the old Navy air crafts and the people who has contributed their knowledge towards aeronautical engineering. You can see the history of leaders over the years.
If you are a fan of aircrafts then it' s worth visiting otherwise it' s just a waste of time. Models of aircrafts developed by HAL is set to display there. The campus is surrounded by garden and has a small pool with fishes in it. There's also flight drive simulator which we did not try. The souvenir shop is just a very small room with hardly some scale models which is not worth buying it.
Expected real retired planes at there being it a museum but there were wooden and metal models only of them. Also, those were not equal in size of original planes but were in some reduced ratio. There should have been the real old planes, kindly.
But it's be a proud moment to know the history of indian aeronautic and aerospace development by HAL and other entities visiting here.
It is a big aircraft museum. Great museum for day visit. You'll get to know about the history of HAL. They have almost all life size fighter plans. The plans models are worth the visit. Half of the museum is occupied by old photographs. You get to see a lot of old air force plans and helicopter. It is well maintained. It is a nice place for both kids and adults. Ticket price for adult is 50, for mobile camera they charges 20 more. Stimulated driving experience available. Entire HAL journey from beginning to till now shown by pictures and small models. Small models crafts are also sold here. It takes 90 minutes to cover all.
Nice place for kids. A day trip to this place will be wonderful. They have a 12 minute flight simulator programs on the first floor of main building. Some juice, soup n snack counter in available inside campus which is sufficient for kids. HAL have well-maintained property. Only drawback I felt is approach to this place. A two hour heavy traffic route took me there n again arduous journey on return.
Located on Old Airport Road. It offers great pool of knowledge about Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. How Indian aviation boday has grown over period of years. Many jet planes and helicopters are on display. Kids do enjoy a lot here. Parking is also available.
Rare meuseum for children. Have been visiting for few years with my children. Don't see much change year after year. Same stuffs on display but maintained well.
Good display of all aircrafts. A guide to explain more details would have improved the experience. Also, the souvenirs in the shop were just basic models. More accurate scaled models, would have increased sales. The video show was also good.
