This is the best place in Sakleshpur to unwind oneself. Its a four hour drive from Bangalore. This is a 70 year old property giving the best relaxation. There is a stream and a small waterfall which one can reach via a small trek. The food served here is simply awesome with variety of veg and non veg food. The hospitality of the homestay and owner is worth mentioning. You can either come and stay with ur family or friends. And not to forget the bonfire and the snacks served is truly awesome.

A tranquil location, mouthwatering food and a superb host, what more can one ask for. Our stay at Halemane homestay was indeed a memorable one.

Heard about the place but its my first visit here. The owner takes personal care in cooking & serving authentic food. The spread is both veg &non veg (we have to specify). While my people went out to experience the wilderness I stayed back to watch and enjoy the wilderness from the top floor of this thatched house. The name of the property speaks it all as there is so much to explore in the curios he still preserves. Indeed 'Halemane' lets you experience how the life would have been peaceful and serene in such a pristine unspoilt location decades ago. Thanks Dev sir, for your wonderful hospitality.

It is a nice place to visit and explore, The food is especially very very tasty and served in enough quantity. Hospitality is also very good.

Excellent hospitality along with equally good food. The ambiance around takes you to the lap of nature. There is a challenging forest hike trail which one can take if someone wants to get even more closer to nature. The number of items and the quantity of food being served was way beyond our imagination. Worth every penny spent.

It was an awesome experience to stay in this home stay, Very nice location, absolutely calm and serene.
The food is amazing, very homely, healthy and of course delicious, authentic taste.

We, a group of 5 friends, visited over the weekend. The host Devraj ji is an amazing person who welcomed us with warmth and great hospitality. The food we had during the stay were super delicious with a touch of local aroma and best part, it was unlimited. You can eat to your heart's content literally. Definitely the stay with the best food. And all this dishes are cooked by the owner himself.
Room was clean and bed super comfy. Hot water available 24x7. Terrace and verandah nicely setup for a laid back mood. Interiors are well decorated with antique pieces.
We went to a nearby trek to the water stream which was super fun. But be aware of the leeches if going.
And when the night turned young, the pandora box of the amazing starters was unleashed by Devraj ji. Definitely a must visit place, suitable both for family, couple and bachelors.

Really a great place.big fan of the lavish homely food Dev serves. 3rd visit and the only preferred stay in Sakleshpur.

What to say about this homestay…. I am speechless… first I need to praise owner Devraj and his team for their aweeeesome hospitality and FOOD. My mother used to say, “ if you want to reach people heart it’s with food you feed” Devraj did exactly the same thing… he gave us unbelievable taste, quality and quantity of food that too unlimited. It was a complete surprise for us and we did not expected this. This is the ONE and ONLY homestay gave this taste, quality and quantity food in my experience. I really want to THANK Devraj for making this wonderful stay experience. Also the location they have this homestay is spectacular. It can’t be explained it should be experienced. As per my experience I suggest anyone looking for homestay in Salaleshpura, please consider this and you will never regret your decision.

Had this amazing family vacation at Hallemane homestay, sakleshpur. The old rustic house is nestled in the midst of nature down a winding mudpath. Its all of nature and the only sounds one can hear is that of the chirping birds, crickets, the stream. The cool spring water stream and meadows make for a good trek. For a serious trekker, biker, birdwatchers there is so much to explore and experience. The waterfall is so refreshing. The best part of this vacation was the landlord Devraj, his home reminds one of the vacations we used to make as children to our grandparent's home in the village. The mouthwatering food, the redoxide floors, the firewood heated hot baths, the dogs, the cardamom and banana plantations.nostalgic indeed. Highly recommend this wonderful cozy homestay which is a good 4 hour drive from bangalore. Yah feeling so content and blissful on our way back with so many good memories with our teenage children.

At this moment I am virtually partying from Utah, United States with a bunch of friends celebrating friendship day.
Been there half a dozen times over 5 years. Each time was unique; varieties of food, conversation with Dev or Sumitha on everything under the sun, the rustic ambience changing organically, over a dozen hiking options, watching the night sky unobstructed, varieties of party settings; on the grass, in the courtyard, singing and dancing around a camp fire, karaoke or antakshari.it's all mesmerizing.
I was lazy posting a review for an unbelievable length of time shamefully although I am a hospitality manager.
And the whole experience is informal like your own home was transported into India's western mountains.
Kid friendly, if there are a bunch of them or if there are adults to go around with them.
Plenty of spots for kids to explore raw nature.
No artificiality of host-guest role playing like in most hotels, resorts and homestays

If you are brand specific, get enough of the spirit you want, the nest is an hour away from the nearest fountain.

This place grows on you. The best food I have ever had in sakhleshpur. And the host Mr Dev is an amazing personality.
Never met a guy like that and the experience that comes along.
And Mishty (pit bull) the sense of safety that dog gives you. So calm and friendly.
Loved the stay.

For future visits, that is the place for me for sure.

The beds, food, rooms, utensils the whole experience is very raw and authentic.
Hospitality was one of the best I have had.

Dev Sir, the property owner is a gem of a person and he enjoys hosting with delicious food and lots of stories to tell. The whole environment makes you feel laid back and one with nature. Met Mishti too who was very welcoming! Cant wait to plan another one!

Peaceful and Rustic experience!
Food was exceptional.
We had a family of elderlies and pets. The elderlies loved the greenary and food while my pets enjoyed the open space.
Dev is a simple and perfect host with a big heart and a perfect example of sustainable living. He along with his team ensured the stay was very comfortable.
The place is best for a family outing, if your looking for good food fresh air and peaceful location.
Recommendations: Neer dosa, veg stew, chicken curry, fresh local fish fry.

Tip: if your travelling from Bangalore, do take a diversion to Virajpet at Balupet. The route is faster and scenic compared to driving from sakleshpura town.

This place has made me feel like it’s my second home. The people here and the atmosphere here made me feel the most comfortable. Every meal I had was something I tried for the first time. The taste was so good, my mouth is watering as I type about it. Swimming and chilling at the mini pool, I had a lot of fun playing with my friends. I also made new friends. It was so nice to meet these new people and to know about them. The people staying at this house are probably the sweetest people I’ve met. Keshav uncle and Ajith are two amazing people who can become your good friends and share a lot of knowledge and history about the area. I also went on a trek to a nearby peak. It was a lot of struggle to climb up, but it was all worth it once we reached the top. The greenery around here is so calming to the eyes and the soul, it just makes you feel at peace. It’s been a week since I came back from the trip to Halemane, and I already miss it so much. I wanna go back again soon. And I will be a regular customer here onwards. Best place to go with family and friends. Everyone need to experience this.

A beautiful, serene home amidst nature. Brilliant food, most helpful staff and a gracious host. Has a nice vintage touch to the place. Clean and tidy, hot water at all times, parking available. Cosy rooms during cold and rain. Expect an adventurous road to get there. This was my 4th visit in the last 6 years and it's become like a second home. Thank you Devraj and Sumi <3

Reserved this property through a friends recommendation and was really looking forward to a quite home stay. We were elated with joy on our arrival as the property had the vibe of an rustic interior surrounded by beautiful scenic view all around and not to forget the best host Mr. Devraj and my favourite Mr shadow (pet Labrador). The owner was the so kind and hosted us with authentic local cuisine and the taste was outstanding. He took so much care and his staffs even guided us through the near by water stream where we spotted a peacock. We traveled during December and best part was the morning walk with Mr shadow where the entire surrounding property felt like heave with few drop covered willows. It felt enchanting. This has been my best stay ever in Karnataka and I highly highly recommend if you are a nature lover. Thanks Mr. Devraj once again, will see you soon:)

It’s a great place to stay at weekends near sakleshpur. It was the best experience staying there. Location is very beautiful and close to nature. This place is very well maintained. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the Owner. Staff was extremely friendly.cooked food was yummy. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the ambience. Trek to waterfall with leeches was really challenging and adventurous.

I would highly recommend this place and I would definitely want to come back to this place again.

I was on a solo ride to Sakleshpura. During my stay, on a hike I had an ankle twist. The care and hospitality of Dev and staff was amazing. They were very supportive as I was injured. They even arranged for an oil massage. They arranged for my bike to be driven till Sakleshpura as I wasn't able to ride on it. They even dropped me in their car. I am very much touched by their care and hospitality. My heartfelt thanks to Dev and staff of Halemane.

Really nice place. Relatively cheap, but the food was awesome and the interiors aesthetically pleasing. The areas around also are pretty scenic. The host is a very warm and welcoming person.

We were welcomed by the host Dev a humble man and his even more humble staff and the most well behaved Labrador -"Shadow".
The food served on all the three days of our stay were so delicious and not a single dish that I would say we could keep aside.
Halemane as its name suggest did give us an experience that none of us had before - very authentic and surrounded by the beauty of nature.
All the restrooms were clean and had hot water.
Its a must visit place if you love green landscape and small waterfalls.

It was a wonderful stay. Very humble staff. Food was excellent! The owner of the homestay is wonderful and will make sure you are comfortable.

Must go place. Their hospitality and food are really awesome. And if you are planning for girls trip like us don't think twice. Just book it.

I came across this place on tripadvisor. After reading reviews I was tempted to try out the place and fortunately the place lived upto the expectation. Sumi, who handles bookings, made the booking experience smooth.
The hospitality provided by Dev is unmatched. He is an excellent cook himself and you would be surprised to see the variety and quality of food on offer. I stayed there for 2 nights and overate in every single meal.
The homestay is situated in a remote place away from any kind of noise or pollution. The homestay has an old world charm to it. Dont go there expecting luxury and you will do fine.
Special mention to the sweet dog Shadow who literally accompanies you like shadow.

If you're nature lover then this is an ideal place for you to stay. The host is very humble and a really amazing cook. Food is finger licking good.

Haven't seen and experienced this kind of hospitality for years now.
I don't know how the Host. Dev anna reads what you want.

If you are visiting pls go without any expectations.trust me you will never be disappointed.

Had the most wonderful stay with my friends. This was our third visit and we keep going back for a reason. Dev is the most wonderful host, always ready with interesting stories and opinions. Shadow and mishti, the dogs, made sure they hung out with us and made our trip so much better. The stream close by is extremely scenic and the trek to it is through the field.

Amazing experience! If you are planning for a laid back trip to rejuvenate & relax, this is the place to go. The food was sumptuous. We spent 3 days in the month of January and the weather was perfect for what we were looking for. Hats off to Mr. Dev, Puttanna and Kumaran for taking care of us (5 adults and 4 kids) during our stay. And ofcourse, we miss Shadow & Misty. Overall, 9/10 for this wonderful place.

The absolute stand - out factor was the personal care and the food. The hygiene is brilliant too, as in good linens, bed cover, clean bathrooms etc. The variety of food available is amazing and the quality is fantastic.

Total value for money and we will be visiting soon.

Their pets Misty, Shadow & Bully are the icing on the cake coz they are constant companions and a whole lot of fun to hang out with!

The stay was truly amazing. The home took us back a few decades. They have a lot of interesting stuff and very cozy beds too. Everything was very clean and maintained. The last monsoon had apparently washed away the volleyball court but as soon as we requested, they were happy to set up another area of the compound as a volleyball court. The food was amazing. They served us with great many varieties of food and all in sufficient quantities. We were given really good non-veg and veg snacks to go with our drinks apart from the meals.
We kept asking for black coffee (for 11 of us) every couple of hours and Praveen (he is the sweetest guy!) always helped us with it and that too with a smile every single time.
The owner Dev was also very cooperating and welcoming to all of us. We had 2 puppies with us and Praveen even helped preparing food for them.
I have never been to another place with such a good caretaker. They have 3 dogs and one of them (Shadow) was very friendly and accompanied us to the waterfalls that they have at just 10 mins of walking distance. There is a nice place with great view during sunsets just about a km away from the place.
All 11 of us were totally happy with the place and the way they took care of us.

Excellent hospitality! We went immediately after lockdown was lifted on resorts. Devraj sir (owner) is a nice sweet person made our stay for 2 nights very much comfortable. Paapu (worker) was an Excellent help, took us around and gave us a great hospitality. Food is delicious. We ordered for motte koli.they cooked it deliciously for us.place is just calm and beautiful in mid of Meadow and jungle.must visit!
