This is the best bookstore I've ever been to and I've been amazed. The selection of books was tremendous, with a wide variety of genres and subjects to choose from. And super cheap if compared with online platforms.
I highly recommend this bookstore to anyone looking for a great selection of books and a pleasant shopping experience.
The security person hovered over our shoulders and followed us around everywhere making us extremely uncomfortable. Very bad staff behaviour. Will never visit this place.
This place has a wide range or books and other things we can get so many good things and books especially the kids section. They had a Verity of things from just books to stationary items and etc. Was very good but I think what's just okay about this store is their manga section. It had many good book's and manga's but they didn't have their forst editions and only had the last parts. So that was low-key disappointing I'd say but overall a good store.
They have a wide range of books ranging from comics to nonfiction to fiction to even vest selling indian authors.pick up any book you wont regret buying it.reasonable prices and amazing spot for bookworms
Wide variety of books, sorted into genre. Staff was very helpful, searching up if they had the books I asked for. My favorite part was the huge manga collection.
Staff was extremely rude and the security guard is creepy following you everywhere. They believe that you should come, give money to them and go. Don't allow us to browse peacefully. Even without the disgusting staff behaviour, this place is still not worth visiting. Especially with so many great bookshops around. Prices atleast 20% higher than in other stores. Arrogant enough to think that their brand can charge a premium. I don't ever intend to visit this pretentious useless place ever again. I would recommend others to follow suit as well.
Book store infrastructure is attractive and welcoming. Extremely silence and peaceful. Books are available from different genres like fictional, non - fictional, kids, Romance, historical, biographies, best sellers, indian authors, Novels, comics, etc. Price is Market level and affordable. Stationery items also available for kids and crafts work. I recommend make available digital UPI payments for the shop to make payments easy in this digital era.
Spent a solid amount of time just browsing. Special shout out to the extremely well curated Manga section. It's got your classics like Naruto, One Piece, DeathNote etc but also less common titles like Ore Monogatari and even recent D Gray Man volumes
A great place to visit at MG road, The staff is really humble, place is well organised so that one can find what genre he or she is looking for We usually get lost in the vast varieties of books It’s a two storey building It has books right from the first volume to the latest of it kept with them Yeah finally a cozy place for people and books.
Higgin Bothams Ltd is one of most respected book shop in MG road.good staff, great collection, neat, good ambience, what not for book lover.any time, any day if you are nearby MG road, pls hop in, see, feel and taste books. All the best for management to restoring, retaining such a brand store.
Old World Charm. And an institution in Bangalore. Good to Have paid parking right up front. Books were well priced (the children compared prices online!)
Great place and best in town for manga. Biggest and latest collection for in-store shopping in Bangalore. All shonen jump mangas in english and all newly printed, but they sell it no less than its M. R. P. But quite good. NO. 1 for MANGAS.
One among the landmark show rooms of Bangalore Beautiful shop, well stacked with many items It surprised me the knowledge level of the sale's staff A gentleman made me sat for half hour with his knowledge on Kamba Ramayanam, wonderful flow (at the end he concluded that he's a Christian, working for a longer period, who is interested in our roots) Good collection, u can get many old Books too. Easily locatable place
This particular book shop allures even a non book reader to visit the store. It looks like a mini villa palace. The store has many classic collections and all genres of books. But the best thing is kids or children book section which has wide range of books.
Quiet book shop with an old world charm, smack in the middle of the city. Good to browse books and even get some small stationary items near the metro station.
On the most visited streets of the city and being running since ages is not a joke. They have a lovely collection of books and information. Do visit when you are around MG road.
One of Bangalore’s oldest bookstore — Higginbothams — is debuting a new avatar this week. The pretty patterned interiors, a cosy courtyard, and an expanded collection —the new store will have book lovers hooked, no doubt. An old Bangalore institution – Higginbothams has stood majestically on MG Road since 1897. But for a while now, the shutters have been down and all you get to see is the vintage building hidden behind blue plastic sheets that cover the facade. On February 25 {Amish Tripathi will be at the inauguration at 6 pm}, however, the sheets are going to come off and Bangaloreans can greet a brand new Higginbothams. The old-world, heritage exteriors remain pretty much the same. However, the interiors have been completely done-up and it looks pretty and dreamy. When you come through the doors, you’ll see the popular fiction section open up in front of you. It sports a yellow and black look with bright lamps hanging all around you. We also love that they have converted the broad window ledges into cosy reading corners. As you wander around, you’ll also spot a brightly done up children’s section that also doubles up as an activity corner. There’s also an exclusive corner for stationary and basic electronic accessories. The ground floor opens out to a quiet courtyard where you can read your book or can swing by for events. Upstairs, there’s a comics and graphic novels wing as well as sections for non-fiction and academic books. They even have a dedicated travel nook where you can pick up books, maps, and guides related to travel in Karnataka
Okay collection.the bookstore is housed in a building of architectural beauty but the collection of books is just okay.good collection for kids though.would prefer Blossoms any day to it
This is the best place in Bangalore. Even if you're not a book sniffer, you'll find your love in some book or comic of your favourite character. There are books from all genres and subjects. I found books on Abu Jani's design collections and Vikas khanna's cookbook. There were also books on wars and battles. Best biographies and of course comics. Highly recommended place. Do visit!
It is a bookstore in a 2 storey building, which carries an architectural design that is old like something from the British era. The book store has great collection of books of all genre. They also sell books written in regional languages like Kannada, Telugu, etc. It also has a decent collection of manga. They have a good collection of comics too, but if you're looking for Marvel comics or especially DC comics, you're better off some other place. Other than books they also sell stationary and toys for kids. If you're looking novels, this is the place to visit. I felt nice visiting there, the staff was friendly and informative.
The newly renovated Higginbothams building on MG Road is beautiful. The inside of the bookstore is every book-lover's dream. They have a very good variety of Fiction and Non-Fiction in English and regional languages. The bookstore has a whole section dedicated to comic books and rare books on the first floor. They also carry a limited range of stationary and notebooks. The staff was extremely polite and courteous and were able to help me with the books I was looking for. The only drawback of this bookstore is the fact that they don't have any seating area to read. Overall, I came out of the bookstore a lot happier and more content than I was going into it. This is definitely one of my favourite bookstores in the city.
A classic MG road place which has been there since forever! The collection of books is good and is spread across multiple languages and genres. One noticeable thing is the small number of Kannada books in the entire book store which is a tad disappointing. The prices are mostly as per the mrp and hence can be a tad expensive. A pleasant experience of going through the collection is a given nonetheless
A good book shop they have almost every books available and as far i know i cannot compare the book rates as online book sellers provide very less rates to the customers so wont speak on this topic. But on seeing the range i was shocked they have every book.and books are updated on time also so its a very good point for them.
Good book store in MG road. Named for its own kind of books n stuff for ages. Found some interesting stuff this time. Did not get the books what I'm searching for. For general ok, but for professionals I doubt they are interested to keep. As iam going to find them for at least 20 years.
