Hilltown Hotel

Had a horrible experience!
Had booked this hotel via Treebo after seeing the positive reviews.

1. Firstly, I was allotted a smaller room then what I had booked. I had to request him to give me the correct room.

2. Throughout our stay, our room was filled with a very bad stench coming from bathroom or outside.

3. Perhaps this is the only hotel where they serve cold breakfast and even cold chai as a regular practice. Although they replaced the chai after complaining. Something as basic as chutney, got over according to them.

4. Bedding, pillows, towels, etc.were not clean. Got them changed and even the changed ones were not perfectly clean. Not sure if they were washed properly.

5. Landline meant for room service was also not working. Had to call directly on cell for room service.

6. Basic toilteries were also missing. Dental kit was not in stock according to the staff but was given to us after insisting. Body wash dispenser was faulty and was not replaced, because apparently that was also out of stock. Similarly, hand wash bottle was also empty and had to be requested.

7. Housekeeping is available only at specific times.

Poor hotels by Treebo Trends. Such. A mess, such a clutter. Bathrooms are so bad. Bed sheets are of cheapest quality ever.

Hotel is not safe. If u will keep ur valuable item open in room and if it get lost than don't expect of getting it back. Hotel staff doesn't support. I don't recommend the place to stay. Not Safa.

I left my gold chain in the room number 104.
On 22nd January 2023 we checked out at 9 pm approx. I still remember i left the chain in the mirror table. This chain was last memory of my heavenly mother.

The stay was pretty decent, the stay is located near to main area may be 200 meters. This stay has parking facility which most of the stay places won't provide near to this vicinity. The price is also nominal when compared to the other hotels in madikari. They provide complementary breakfast with limited choices and taste really good. Coming to the cleanliness, the room is pretty good and toilet seems to be neat and clean. The only disadvantage is the bathroom is too small. Rest all seems to be so good. Good for family and friends.

Highly not recommended to anyone!
No cleanliness, no hygiene, worst services, No attentiveness, staff very rude arrogant!
Even after calling multiple times they don’t listen and work. Charges high then regular.

Surprisingly awesome. Did not expect the hotel can be this good.
If you want a very good hotel in a decent price, this is for you.

Economy good hospitality friendly staff parking was very speceies and hyganic rooms very happy to stay

Better call it a Bhoot Bunglow rather than hotel. Grim faces at reception, no light in common area, dirty rooms, flowing taps, filthy bedsheets and what not. Just stayed one night there but it was like one week. Worst and scary hotel experience of my life.

Enjoyed living here for 2 days. Has beautiful garden with parking facility. Rooms are really good.

The rooms are very clean and the staff are also very hospitable. We had booked in advance and they allowed us to check in at 1am as we got delayed. They also offered us to take us around for a very nominal fee. Only negative is they do not provide any meals. But it is an economical and has very clean rooms.

Stayed at Highton hotel. I guess there is some sort of confusion. Hilltown n Highton are pretty near by and searching either of these leads to one.
Following are comments abt Highton.

1. Water leakage in toilet commode and wash basins.
2. Weird sound if you try to close the water flow.
3. On contacting the concerned people, comments like " we need to get plumbers to fix this " instead of offering a room change (at least for courtesy).
4. Some grim faces at reception and investigation kind of questions.
5. Good decent rooms and other facilities.

Disgusting behaviour.
Never ever go for this Hotel.

We 5 friends (3 male and 2 female) booked 3 rooms for 2 nights.
On the second night we were playing cards in one of the rooms (little late in the night though), the Hotelier came to the room and told us not to make noise as it was late night.
We apologised and he went back to reception desk. It was reasonable till this point and we stopped playing and were about to sleep.
Suddenly, God knows what came to the Hotelier mind, he called on my number and threatened us (unnecessarily) saying "I will show what I will do with you guys if you guys make noise again" and that was so arrogant that he sounded as if he is going to kill us or fight with us or what not.
We were so scared as the Hotelier is obviously a localite and moreover 2 of us are female.
We checked out next morning and by God's grace we were returned safe.
Such a horrible experience it was.

Visited madikeri on 05/05/2018 and opted to stay here. Bokked rooms through phone.the person on phone was very friendly and polite. Booked a family room.clean room clean bathroom well maintained.moderate pricing. Ample parking place.situated in the city center.little hard to find the place in traffic, path that leads to the hotel is very narrow. They did not have a in house restaurant but they provided us with a menu and contact of a nearby restaurant which was very quick and efficient in delivering our orders and not heavily priced. Would visit again.

The hotel has different rates for morning freshening up and full day-stay. The receptionist won't tell you this. We got fooled by this and ended up paying a bigger amount. The receptionists were arrogant, the rooms weren't cleaned before check-in, and the service was egregious. Never going to recommend this to anyone.

Cheap and average hotel near city centre. Spacious parking place available in front of hotel. Very near to city bus stand and good shopping and eateries available nearby.

Approach road is very narrow. No good restaurant near by. Room are not very clean. Quality of mattress was very bad.curtains, bathroom fitting are not maintained very well. TV was not working.

Nice. Good parking place. Rooms with sufficient space, good quality of bed, napkins, etc. For lunch, dinner and tiffin easy available near by.

The rooms are pretty good, although the hotel is situated very near to the bus stand, the road is very narrow to enter in a big car. However there is ample amount of parking space right in front of hotel. The rooms were cleanly maintained with 4 chairs. Hot water is available throughout the day.

Cons: old CRT TV with Videocon connection, so if you plan to enjoy by connecting your mobile or HDD to the TV, that's not possible.

No restaurant attached to the hotel.

Nitpicking: No auto locks on doors, traditional locks and the keychain provided with the room key is really heavy to carry.

A good hotel and economical for a 2 night stay.

Rooms are Good. 24 hrs hot water.location is at center of town. Room service is poor. Cant get even a coffee at morning. Overall is average.

Not the same hilltown as it used to be!
The rooms are good but the service is the worst i have ever experienced after 2 days of stay i had to go to reception to tell them to fill water in jugs and provide with mosquito repellents. There is newbie 18year boy at the reception who doesn't even knows about the sightseeing, i had to ask it from near by shop. The owner of shop told me the manager of the hotel left sometime ago and now this stupid little fellow is taking care who knows nothing about costumer satisfaction and is rude like we are staying for free in his hotel
