Amazing coastal food. Had prawn masala, fish tawa fry, crab masala, squid fry. Each one were of different taste and simply superb. Must have food place if one is traveling over karwar.
No respect to the customers who are waiting for food, they wanted to connect the tables for other group of customers in ac room so asked us to switch the table which was not acceptable We left the hotel immediately
Great place, great food! Mr. Bharath ensures that you taste every dish. Their Butter garlic prawn is too good, Dalitoi, Squid fry, Fish curry etc are a few things you shouldn't be missing out on. Service is good! We visited this place with our friends who just fell in love with the food! Totally worth the money!
Food and atmosphere is great. Remember it is little costly when compared to other local Restaurants but the price is worth it as it has great ambience and tasty food
Nice place for local sea food.the only problem is that the place is too crowded during lunch time at least. However service is efficient, and the food is tasty. Rava king fish was awesome!
I visited this place after a few of ppl I know spoke of it highly. Although this places serves good sea food, I was only able to try the Fish Thali. It was Delicious.
Good food and quality produce. I would say try the Garlic butter prawns! Fried rice also was excellent, trust the staff there they've got good suggestions.
Succulent! Taste way up there. Ambience just perfect. Best place to go with family. Tried sea food from crab to mussels and clam to mackerel. Can't complain on quality quantity. I m told there is also a dish for vegetarians delicacy made with Daal and coconut milk that's one of the best. Will try before I leave this beautiful part of country.
Awesome sea food. We stopped for lunch & beer enroute Goa. Was crowded but Mr Bharath went out of his way to accommodate us. This wasn't the first time we had lunch here. We've left licking our lips everytime.
The food is very tasty. Even though the sea food is cheap in the coast, the price for prawns is very high at Amrut, just for 6 pieces of prawns they are charging 330+ rupees. Fish thali was really good. Taste is awesome, for the price quantity should be increased slightly.
Its good for sea food. Best is to do reserve table as it gets full very soon. Situated in heart of city. Must visit place. Other than sea food which is good only try chicken ghee roast and biryani. You will love it
Tried roti, paneer manchurian and Baby corn pepper dry fry. Found the food to be extremely disappointing. Washrooms are very, poorly maintained. All the glamour that the hotel boasts is totally a hype. But they have great hospitality. Need to maintain more cleanliness and hygiene.
Fish Thali was Great! Thali menu is perfect. The hotel owner was visiting the hotel. He checked most of the tables personally if everything was fine. That's impressive!
Great seafood dishes, very fresh and tasty. We tried crab sukka, pomfret rava fry and prawn curry. Also try the kokam drink, very refreshing. Not too many choices for vegetarians, but they do have some options. Ambience is average, place is clean. Great option of you're driving to/from Goa
Must try crab ghee roast, crab sukka and prawns ghee roast almost all the dish r excellent. If u like spicy mention them so they cook according to ur taste.
A totally hyped up place. The fish food prices are extremely high. Portion size is very low. A better substitute for the same is Fish factory just a km away on d same lane. Adding a few pics for your reference
Overly priced fish available! Being a GOAN fish in Goa has a better monetary value than this place. Prices are similar to 5 star hotel Price here is as per the waiters liking and mood
Sea food Legend. Mackarel masala fry taste is awesome you just want to have more n more, Crab masala curry, fried Squids, prawns biryani, all are having there own flavour (not cooked in same common gravy) and you just cannot stop eating. If you are sea food lover leave sea food lover if you are food lover you must visit this place it's a heaven for foodies. It is serving sea food delicacies from the year 1976. And still no other restaurants in karwar serve such a tasty and flavorful food.
Good food. But little expensive. Ambience can be improved. Moreover waiters are very busy during peak hours. Difficult to catch hold of someone and order.
Hotel Amrut is our must visit lunch or dinner place in Karwar enroute from Mangalore to Goa! The super tasty spicy fresh sea food dishes here are mouthwatering. The restaurant maintains good hygiene and promt service. The rates are reasonable. The catch of the day lands freshly prepared on the table. Almost everything we have tried here has repeat value! My favourite is Seer/ King fish tawa masala, prawns ghee roast, crab ghee roast, tisre (oysters) sukha and prawn curry The fish thali looks amazing too and is value for money And last but not the least the warm hospitality of its owner the exuberant Mr Bharat adds that extra special homely feel wanting one to visit Amrut time and again!
Awesome place to dine in. Very good food and good service. Visiting during the peak times and on peak days may lead to long waiting. Must try fish thali and squids chilli fry.
The tagline of 'Seafood specialist' seems justified. We ordered clams sukka, crabs sukka, prawn curry, fish curry & fried red snappers. The taste was amazing with the coconut gravy and the spices really playing on your senses. The fish fry was overpriced and did not justify the price. A must visit at Karwar if you dig seafood.
Authentic karavali sea food served hot and steaming. Restaurant is always crowded and lacks quality seating arrangements. A couple of ac dining halls are just not capable of accomodating the crowd. Also it is very short sighted policy of the owners that they concentrate only on serving the ac room customers and the general hall customers have to manage on their own, even though it appears that maximum revenue is likely to be generated by customers dining in general hall. Not a very great experience.
One of the best Restaurants of Karwar and a must visit if you love Sea food. Tou also have Veg North Indian. Chinese.punjabi dishes.with numerous options for Fish. The hotel is neat clean with good ambience. Only drawback is lack of friendly staff and slow service.so whatever you want.plan and order at once.do not expect hospitality.customer satisfaction and all. Moreover.this is one of the decent restaurants in karwar and there is not much choice available apart from this one.
GOOD PLACE FOR NON VEGETARIAN LOVERS. SPICY FOOD AVAILABLE HERE. FISH AND CHICKEN N MUTTON DISHES PREPARED HERE. GOOD PLACE FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. SEPERATE ARRANGEMENTS FOR FAMILY. BAR IS ALSO AVAILABLE. AC RESTAURANT.
Best of Karwar's fish restaurant. Although the waiting time of each order can be improved since, they take 30 min for a new one. I advise to order in one go to avoid the delay.
My experience was very bad.no good service.u are expected to give the entire order at once.and also they don't allow you to go through the menu card patiently.they expect you to give give order within 5mins.overall very bad experience.
It is such a nice restaurant with very good ambience. We have been to this fantastic restaurant many times over the years, it’s by far the best in the area, a really good varied menu with something for everyone. Excellent fish and seafood dishes are reasonably priced and preparations are quite delicious.
Food: - here what we tried and would recommend: - shellfish masala (also called kubbe masala) - the shellfish was fresh and the masala paired well with the crustacean taste. It was a bit spicy but not too much that it overpowered the sweet musky taste of the seafood. Definitely recommend you to try this out. - crab masala (also known as kurli masala) : I really loved the masala - it's also one of their fastest moving items. It's obvious that the masala is cooked with chicken in it because I got pieces of chicken and some bones but surprisingly the taste of chicken goes well with crab. A must try. - prawns tawa masala- of all the stuff we are, I found this the second least inspiring- at any other place, I would have labelled this dish as must try, but here, it was average. The masala was to oily for my taste but definitely a good dish. - paplette rava fry- the most average dish and I wouldn't recommend it. They seemed to have coated the fish in rava and then deep fried it. So. No. - rawas masala - the masala pales in comparison to the crab and shellfish but still a great dish.
Main Course: - paplette & surmai curry + rice: the curry was delicious! Perfect balance of sourness and masala - the fish was cooked well and went with the curry. I loved how they used the kokum in these dishes. You well get about 2 pieces of surmai and 3 pieces of paplette. We had we quite a lot for starters so kept this to a minimum.
Beverage: lemon soda (good - nothing to crow about) ; kokum sharbat - loved it! Must have. This is not the sweet version but the normal salted one, diluted with slices of (the least spicy) green chillies.
Veg- ordered manchow soup- tasty and well made. Similar to any been restaurant we have been to. Gobi Manchurian gravy + mushroom rice- was a let down. The mushrooms were dry and rubbery but the rice alone was very tasty. The gravy was but on the sweeter side however the Manchurian was really crispy.
No photos as presentation isn't their strongest suit.but taste wise I'd recommend a visit.
No complaints about the taste of the food it has to offer but its the waiting time after placing the food order. That's just too much, especially when you are accompanied by small kids. I wish they improve on this asap!
My first visit. Visited for a fish thali on recommendation of a friend. Made all efforts to reach the hotel before its business closing time.very very worthy visit. Fresh and tasty food.ordered a seer rava fry and seer masala fry.kind of overpriced but can’t complain for the taste and service. Thali by itself is delicious and fulfilling. Very much recommended!
Good food, seafood also available in verity, not in high cost.value of money.have lot of space.fully airconditond, best place for both couples and families
We entered the hotel at closing hours. The waiter didn't like it. He ruled out the choice and served us only two items available. Hence it is half satisfied.
Must try even if you are somewhere near karwar. The food taste is very very good. I am a vegan and liked all of the veg starters and main course. Non veg, no questions about it. The best place to try is what friends and their family told. P. S. Bollywood celebrities like Sanjay dutt have visited this place.
Its a mecca of karwarian delacy.chicken lovers the best place to visit with wide variety menu.a best place for both veg and non veg lovers in Karwar with affordable price. But Sea food is high on rate compared to fish rates in Karwar market
