Ambience is excellent. You get a warm welcome here. You will enjoy the stay at the hotel. I would call this a resort as there are huts to stay, this is no normal hotel room. You get the lullaby of the birds and insects. You get alarm of chirpping and moew. The stay cottages are worth the name as given by the local team.
This is not a fancy hotel but it's one of the best places I've stayed at. The location is excellent. The moonrise late in the night is out of this world. I have travelled to 20 countries and this is one of the most memorable places I've ever stayed at. We stayed in Dec 2021.
I guess this place is still recovering from Covid impact. The “Paddy Field” stay was splendid and awe-inspiring but apart from that there’s nothing much about this place. There isn’t a functioning restaurant but we can avail coffee and tea anytime. The beds were dusty. I would definitely return to this place just for the “Paddy Field” view. We were just sitting in front of the farm and chilling out.
The location of this hote is only plus rest everything is nonsense. Their bed, fan, light everything is poor. I was there for one night. No towels, No shop, worst food. It was a very frustrating place. Poor experience
If you like nature with cleanliness, this is one of the best locations compared to the other hotels. But try to take the new room facing towards the rice field (bamboo rooms) not the cemented one. The owner is quite friendly and also allows you to bring your own booze without any extra charges unlike the other hotels. It is just located next to the Sanapur Lake.
Stayed here for a night but no facility at all, only rooms were average but toilet is so bad that can not be explained in words. My suggestion would be to stay here with friends if you don't found any other options but still try to avoid if you are going with your family.
Amazing, Just one word simply amazing, cozy Ambiance and lush green all around resort, staff were friendly had a great experience at gowri resort, Srinivas Uncle received us well though is the owner of that place he was so well mannered man treated us well. Overall had a great experience at that place, I highly recommend this place on any day in Hampi.
I stayed in Gowri for a week. The rooms are nice and cozy, food is great. If anyone looking for places to work remotely, from far away city, I recommend Gowri. It has decent internet and with power back-up. Owner is kind person and he arranged a bike for us to roam around Hampi.
Nice little shack in the midst of nature. Lake, dam views are nearby with boating, cliff jumping and boulder climbing locations nearby. Overall a good experience.
If you want to stay in nature friendly location or resort, this is the best place. You will enjoy stay here. Rooms are average. No AC rooms available. Not a good idea to visit in summer (we stayed here in summer, but climate was cool during our stay). Winter is the best time to stay in this place. This property owner is very helpful and he guides everyone if they need any assistance in visiting places near Hampi. Service is really good and food is good too. This location is next to Sanapur lake. Location is really nice.
I would recommend this place to stay for everyone who would like to experience a rural life for one day or couple of days far from the hustle and bustle of a city life with authentic village food as per like and requirement be it vegetarians or non-vegetarians. The owner is very kind and helpful person and gives lots of insights in and around his property. Overall, a nice person to talk to.
The manager Harsha is a great guy. He was very helpful throughout our stay and would be the only reason if we would visit this again.
The location is the 2nd positive about this place. Very near to the corracle ride point and hence a quick ride to lake for the serene views is always a 2 min away option.
The letdowns were the cottages themselves. Not at all worth the money with zero privacy and security. You can easily hear people's conversation from the adjacent cottage and also the doors won't close and hence felt zero % secure. Also facilities like LCD TV are not available per each room but generally in the hotel's cafe. The food tasted good and they customised it acc. To our need though the quantity could have been improved.
Good place nice location Badly need to do something about insects Also better facilities for a good hot water bath must needed when you walk and get tired after site seeing in hampi basics like toothbrush toothpaste is a must If owner tries to improve these basic small stuff more people will explore Thanks
Awesome location to unwind and trully be one with nature.cottages with a rustic feel and each one with a unique view. Good homely food made from organic ingredients grown around the area and also has an option of a restaurant to spice up those taste buds.all in all a wonderful experience with a great host.a big thank you to Harsha and family for hosting us
We have visited gowry resort and we stay for 5days in bamboo rooms from beginning of reservation by Manger Mr. Harsha, till our check out it was wonderful experience. Place, food, rooms, staff in all departments or exalted very nice property to stay in Sonapur. Planning to visit again.
I have been to this place twice and would love to visit again too. Excellent location: Just behind the Sanapur lake Amazing landscapes Superb hospitality by Harsha & their family One should definitely try Aloo Paratha & the homestyle chutney The area in general has poor network for Airtel. So, go prepared if you really want to disconnect from your regular social life Overall a nice place to rejuvenate & refresh
Homestay located amidst the agricultural fields, forted by perfectly stacked boulders and blessed by the presence of beautiful Sanapur lake. A surprising landscape like never before! An exceptional, round-the-clock service by the owner and staffs of the homestay makes your stay more comfortable and merry!
Key Highlights: 1. The peaceful location 2. Hygiene 3. Homestay services 4. Well suited for families and friends to visit
Want a perfect getaway from chaos? Then this is the place!
The place was nice and secluded and the paddy field room offers a great view as well. But the value for money of this resort is very poor. At 2200/- I think there should be a decent quality that needs to be there in the huts
Amidst a lake and farms, wooden huts but modern amenities.limited but tasty menu.a bit far inside Village area making it very peaceful and quiet.would recommend to all those who want a break
Very humble person and one of the best places in terms of location as it is very near to the dam. Rooms are decent, and the manager is very cooperative. Would recommend it to a friend.
A good place to stay for. Located in a peaceful atmosphere near sanapura reservoir. Strongly recommended for families. For solo travellers they can arrange a camping tent during night.
Good to go with groups, friends. Not with family/kids. As the rooms are covered with bamboo and are too closely built, We could hear everything happening in the neighbouring rooms. ️ The staff are responsive and very helpful with guiding and they give bikes on rent. The ambience at night was peaceful at their cafe. The food was good.
Surprised by the amazing service and the food in Hotel Gowri, we ordered fried chicken, super yummy Dal tadka and Rice, stuffed capsicum for my veggie friends who loved it too.very clean place, would love to go back!
Had a poor experience. The toilets were dirty, there was no toilet paper. Rooms didn't have running hot water. There was a common gas heater from which we had to fetch hot water mostly by ourselves, waiting in queue at times. Restaurant was ok but super slow service. No TV in the room. Host was very pleasant - the only saving grace. Not at all worth the money.
Pros: Peaceful area very close to nature Friendly staff Party culture available Cons: Too costly to stay and also not worthy for money u spent. Other side of river so need to cross river always for site seeing or to go to hospet in public transport. Too far from river also so generally extra cost for transportation (feeri-Rs 40 per head and for auto to reach hotel approx Rs 300 per auto) and to go to hotel also (only private vehicles will available) Food was also too costly No provision for shopping. Finally based upon pros and cons u can decide but i suggest not suitable for families as amenities are very basic and not at all worthy for money u spent as there many hotel near to temple which have very good amenities which much less cost than this.
No Hospitality, very costly, charged 1500 perday, you will get a room for INR 500 near to this place. You should visit sanapur lake. Too many lizards in the Rooms
Quaint little out of the way guest house. Close to the reservoir and surrounded by rice paddies. Simple accommodations with beautiful surroundings and a quiet covered but open restaurant. Friendly staff took us for a morning walk to view the sunrise. Would recommend to anyone ok with modest accommodations and no a/c.
No one bothers you and the staff were helpful but did not allow us to have a campfire.they said we should have informed them earlier, but in fact I could have made one myself if given the chance. -Very chilled out atmosphere no one disturbs you as long as you mind your own business -Good food -Affordable and reasonable prices
No doubt it's a calm serene place adjacent to the lake but a lot is desired to make this place wanting. Since the place itself is rather remote to access, they should have more facilities to connect with Hampi. The Shacks are well made but not totally secure, any creepy crawly reptiles can sneak inside. The cotton mattresses are to hard and not good for the aching body after a trip to Hampi by walk or by bicycle. The Restaurant here is well designed for a good rustic feel of the nature. Although they have an elaborate menu card, it's tough to choose. I didn't much use the restaurant as they didn't have South Indian breakfast. Lunch I had outside on both days. Restaurant is rather very expensive for what they serve and for that location.
