Hotel Mayura Cauvery

Stopped here for lunch hoping it to be a decent restaurant since it is managed by Govt. Service is very very slow, food tastes below average and items are over priced. To our horror we found that midway thali service was stopped since they ran out of food! Staff didn't care, were it interested to work and not motivated towards customer service, attitude was either you eat what we give else walk out, we get paid at month end.

Food was good but service can be improved. Frozen desserts are sold instead of icecreams. Just check the brand before purchasing.

Bathroom exhaust is connected to bedroom. Room is full of dampness. Not a pleasent experience

It is a KSTDC Hotel, with spacious rooms, large dining hall and kitchen, well prepared food. But.rooms need a little maintenance efforts.

Stayed here couple of weeks ago as part of KSTDC Coorg tour package. Room was neat but not sure why only one towel kept for double occupancy room. Inspite of asking not given. Water heater switched on 4am but hot water available only for face wash and not for bathing…limited food option.

Worst food ever. 2 idli and one wada cost is 80 rupees it's too expensive for the quality.
Not at all recommended better search for other hotels don't waste your hardly earned money.

We had lunch there, the food was awesome and the taste was superb. This is a good place to have North Indian food.

I would rate them as ‘Minus 5’. I booked a family room since my elderly parents had come to visit me. They charged me Rs 4.3K for a family room. This room had 2 bathrooms but none had western style comode which was a big inconvenience for my parents. Further the room was damp full of stains, bed sheets were dirty. The room also had an old CRT TV with DTH connection but no channel was subscribed to. It was such a waste of money.

We had meals there during lunch time. None of the items had any taste.

Rice was not at all good. Everyone of six of us had gastric problem after having it.

Rice is normally stored with adding soda powder or baking soda or some other chemicals to avoid attacks by insects. This is required for normal white rice which is polished and doesn't have much fiber in it. It is recommended to go for bullet rice which is also a white rice and comes in packed bags of 5 Kg, 10kg, 25 kg etc which does not need the chemicals as preservatives. Cook can open whatever qty required for each day. Nothing happens if the balance is used for next one month. The rice is very tasty also. But slightly costlier than normal white rice.

KSTDC can try this in their hotels which are situated in picnic spots and gas formation in stomach spoils the picnic spirit of the visitors.

We had lunch there-thali meal, chappathi, dal.
Not at all palatable.
There was no other good restaurants nearby area.

We had been there because there was no other veg restaurant near by that area
We ordered 2 meals and 4 chapati and veg curry
In the meals the sambar was spoiled and the few veggie dishes were also not so good and the veg curry was completely oily totally the food because very bad
And that too high amount.this was my experience over there so I kindly request you all to not to go there.

Such nice hotel and staffs! Orders meal and chapathi Channa masala all good. Never except this good taste from government undertaking hotels.so much impressed with mango pickle! The server is very nice and what ever we ask he will get those without any hesitation! If you plan to stop for veg hotel this one is best here.
Only draw back is highcost and quantity of the food.

This place is located exactly at the entrance toll of the Tala Cauvery. You should finish your breakfast or lunch here since there are no better shops uphill. The prices are a bit above for the location but the service was good.

Must try masala dosa here, it was awesome.

In plain dosa you ask for podi they will put it for more spicy.

Coffee and tea are nice.

Good Hotel of Karnataka govt. Room are Clean and hygienic. Food was good.

I was plesently surprised by the gentle, warm and professional behaviour of staff - difficult to find in government organisations. The food we had was very good and were priced reasonably - value for money price. Even though the place is located at a remote place, the parking, dining area and washroom are well maintained.

We had our lunch in this restaurant. We ordered south indian thali and mushroom manchurian. The dishes were good. The place is neat and clean. Toilets are clean.

We had arrived at the hotel during the August long weekend, the staff were helpful and polite. Rooms were subpar, many walls had paint peeling off, and had a musty odor (presumably due to the incessant rain). Food was average by taste but had good quality, chappatis were fresh and the dal was good. Hot water was available and the staff was really helpful for any request. The hotel is nearby Talacauvery, as well as Bhagamandala temple and Kaveri Sangam hence its location was good too.

We only stopped here for lunch. Did not stay. Most of the items in menu were not available. May be because it was a weekday (Monday)
Food itself was good.
The toilets were clean.
The waiter was prompt.
Parking is available.

Experienced a less than average experience at this place. Tasteless food, served with no care, almost making me say another spoilt Government run hotel/restaurant. Was told lunch would be ready only by 13: 00 hrs when today’s special board was updated at noon itself. Not even an attempt to serve lunch earlier than the said time. Had to have sub standard dosa’s as there were no food options nearby

1 is also waste for this, no man power to serve or clean…. Worst place, people come and go just bcz no one ask what plp required… management shd take care of such things its a shame for KSTDC

The rooms are spacious but compared to private hotel, they are not at par. They charge almost equal to private hotels.

You feel like govt office or rooms, therefore they have to increase the standards to make it property competitive enough.

While returning from Tala Kaveri temple had lunch in this hotel. The food was good but the service was very very bad. The waiter behaved very rudely. Being a government restaurant, the behaviour towards tourist from other state was not good. The were accepting a-la-carte from others but told us only thali was available. It was horrible experience and manager was also ignoring.

Rooms were having stikny smell.
In some rooms fan is also not working.
After a struggle of 1hr or so, they agreed to change the room. Food was not good. Ordered Kadai paneer, but seems that was the left over masala and sour in tsate. They even failed to provide basic things such as water.
It's morning 8 and overhead tanks are empty. Till 10: 30 AM the motor was not repaired & we left the hotel. God knows when they ll repair the motor and water will be there.
Very frequent power cut. Not worth for the price they are taking when failing to provide basic services.

The one star for courteous staffs and another one for the location.

Horrible! The staff here is so careless. In fact horrible would be an understatement. They’re so least bothered. When ordered, we were said it would take more than an hour. The guy accepting the orders looked least interested. Would not recommend.

We were forced to eat in this hotel by KSTDC. If there is any zero star rating is there means I could have given that. If you sit for 30 mins also no one will come and take order. Food taste is horrible. They are giving as if like some free food. They charge so much money one single Vada is 30 rs. As a tourism hotel, they need lot of improvement. I am not sure they are concerned about this.

On the way back from Cauvery river start point, we had lunch here and very pleased about the food quality and service. The Manager himself is very well dressed and welcomed us. Food was also excellent probably because there are women in the kitchen. Don’t look at it just as a Govt place

I had comfortable stay here with my family for two days. Hotel looks was fine and well maintained. It has attached restaurant and food was nice. The room was nice with all basic needs. Staff behavior was good and helpful. Car parking there is no problem.

Place was hygienic.this is an old building, hence wear & tear visible.with no good options around.best place to stay on visit to Talcavery for a day.vegetarian restaurant is ok with limited options. Helpful staff!

Restaurant has simple vegetarian and tasty south Indian food. The coffee without chicory mix is superb. Friendly staff.
The hotel for staying is not good.

Hotel is fully non ac but sold as ac property by booking. Com. Staff was not good everything u have to ask which should be by default in the room. U can go for only breakfast which is good. Lots of mosquitoes and insects.
Property is not maintained.

Had a comfortable stay here. Lights inside the rooms are little weird, rest of the things I felt satisfactory. Staffs are also very helpful.

Not the place it used to be before.poorly maintained rooms which are stink a lot.

The rooms were smelly, Plaster is getting chipped off from the walls. To make this more bad there was water seepage issue (moisture on the walls). The window didnt had enough curtain to cover it completely which is a big privacy issue. Tha bathroom was decent comparing to the room condition. We booked for 2 days and because of the room condition we checked out a day early.

These issues might be happening as it is a PSU and not a private one. This is in desperate need to make some renovations here and there.

However the food is decent enough amd it is only 4km from tala cauvery which is a plus point.

Hotel was Okay only. Try chapathi and panner butter masala. Little bit overpriced in few items.

Affordable stay. If you are late to talacauvery, there's no other option but to stay here if you don't want to travel back at night to the city which is 30 kms from this place.

Visited this KTDC hotel after visiting Talacauvery. The food is ok, neither bad nor super. Cleanliness should be improved. As we are going through Covid era extreme cause for concern encountered here was the fact that though the waiters were wearing masks none of the staff working in the kitchen were wearing masks. This hotel is the only place one gets to access after visiting Talacauvery because en route or even in near by Bhagmandala there is no decent place one can visit to either use the restrooms or have a bite of food. Considering the number of tourists visiting the place this Govt run hotel certainly needs to get an urgent facelift.

It well maintained. Testing, compulsory mask and details of visitors are followed. Unfortunately food is not good. It's not terrible either but they can do better.

Food is okay, if its late to have food its best to go.

It's absolutely the worst place to stay in.the roads are crazy bad, the rooms are pathetically ill maintained and it's an absolute waste of money and time

Food is too bad here, they charge 110rs for south meals and same charge for Vegetable fried rice also, that too for that ugliest taste in the world.

Excellent location, fine people and delicious food. However the structure (at that time of our stay) was in need of repairs to leaking roof, faulty switches.

The rooms in the hotel are really good. The room was neat and clean. Better view of vrindavan garden from bedroom. We can take the morning walk in the vrindavan garden.
My grandfather was sick. When he was at side seeing they became sick. After that we called the hotel and they came and took them to the hospital. Mr. Ahmad and Arun Kumar are very helpful, caring people.
And the staff of that hotel is best.

A simple vegetarian restaurant just after Bhagmandal Temple enroute Talacavery, had fresh breakfast on offer when we visited. Tried Puri Bhaji there and the puris were freshly made and tasted very well with the bhaji (sagoo) and chutney provided. The pricing is decent too and there is ample sitting space. The washrooms too were very clean. This is a good to have breakfast if you've crossed Madikeri early.

The best hotel to stay in Bhagamandala. The Manager and staff's are very cooperative. Excellent service.

Don't stay unless you have to esp with kids.nothing convincing like view.if reason is talacauvery just stay at Madikeri maybe kstdc Madikeri which is 1000 times better than this and start 30min early and cover this area. They can just install a invest mesh to make our sleep better

Highway motel suitable short break journeys. You will be able to get pure vegetarian food, fruit juice.

We had breakfast here on the way to Tala Kaveri temple.

Food is just ok. Tea is bad and also priced high.

Service over here is too good and also the charges are reasonable just like a normal restaurant. Had a great time here.

The hotel is well maintained and rooms are spacious which can accommodate 3 people in a room. May not be as clean as one expect but is good in the context that you don't get many options in Bhagamandal.

The hotel is good. But the restaurant is accompanied by a open bar. So we can't eat comfortably with men drinking around.

Wonderful outdoor restaurant which serves beer if need. Food is too good, you can enjoy with friends and family.

Decent pure veg place just after visiting Talakaveri temple. We got in after 11, missed the local specials.

State owned KSTDC hotel. Only a good lodge in Bhagamandala. Rates are also not costly. Food is average. Good managerial staff in attending guests. Online booking available. Dormitory beds available which serves better for group travellers

No proper attention from the food servers over there.don't expect too good food. Can expect just a survival food in the deep jungle of Tala cauvery and Bhagamandala. No non veg food available here.
