Best and most price worthy hotel in the whole Badami. The food here is also great, but I'll recommend you to give your whole order once. The rooms are spacious and clean.
Visited during the peak season in last week of December. Their check in time was 1 pm, but we reached at 6 am. They provided us a room vacated by some guests to keep our luggage. The room was not cleaned yet. So we did not rest there, just kept the luggage and went out to wander around. They called me around 9: 30 to take our bags out. We did so, and requested for early check-in. But they paid no attention to it. We had to wait till 1 pm at the lounge as the luggage were kept there. Only after 1 pm they allot us our room.
The hotel itself is nice, spreading over a vast area with open ground and trees. There is ample parking space outside the reception. The restaurant is also nice with some varieties but not all that are mentioned in the menu are available.
The room was spacious but there is basically no room service. No serving of tea or food to the room, you have to come to the restaurant.
Inexpensive and best hotel in badami. We stayed here for 2 days. Our room was decent and clean and with Hot water connection both in the morning and evening. Hotel manager and all staff members are very helpfulband polite.
Food is great here, we have been provided with complimentary breakfast, breakfast starts serving around 7: 45 am.even people from other hotels come here for food. It is just 6km away from Badami station. We got there at 3 am in the middle if the night. 24 hrs suot rickshaws will be available at the station. We covered badami caves badami museum tracking mountains near badami upper shivalaya and lower shivalaya and boothnath temple (lake temple) bhanashankari temple in 1 day.
The next day we visited Aihole, pattadakkal and mahakuta temple next day.
A large parking area is available in front of the hotel.
The service is great and the staff is very accommodating. Spacious and clean rooms. The only issue is the food, even if you get the continental meal plan while booking the complimentary breakfast only includes poha, upma, vada, and idli. We did end up getting omlettes and bread as a part of the complimentary breakfast but we had to ask around a lot since the staff was not aware of what to do. The food options are limited, and extremely spicy. No cold drinks or icecream available either.
Government sector hotel with very clean and well maintained hotel which was started in 1997, food quality is good with awesome taste, nice hotel. But need to improve the quality of service still more. Overall good experience
On a cost vs value calculation this is a good place given that there are limited options to stay in Badami. The parking is in the open which makes it a bit risky. The restaurant is very crowded which makes it risky in this covid times. Staff good, spacious rooms, cost not too high, no room service.
The place is good and food quality is better. Room charges around 2.9k (2021 rates). Some of the room bathrooms are not that hygienic. See the condition is bathrooms before you book. Booking through online is also possible. But it's better to call n block rooms find first, check the condition of room, and then go for booking.
We had booked 3 rooms for total of 9 guests. The rooms are well maintained with ample space and huge washrooms. But the canteen is worst managed. 5th Nov evening there was huge chaos in the canteen as staff was not able to manage the food orders and made people wait 2 hours on the table. We had to step out of the hotel to eat out late in the night. KSTDC should seriously look into this to make this stay option a complete reliable one.
Decent hotel at badami.very old and spacious. Both veg and non vegetarian foods are available. Service and other facilities are average. Parking area is ok.
It's a Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation's Hotel at Badami, Karmataka a famous tourist spot. I along with seven others went for a lunch. They had South Indian Thali, Veg fried rice, Curd rice etc. Almost rice in all these items was not boiled. We were not able to eat the rice. We complained to them. But they did not care. No side dish for fried rice and curd rice. Accompaniments for thali was ok. Average service. Despite paying money our hunger was not cleared. Better try some other hotel.
We 3 stayed in non-AC room and good room. Spacious outside surrounding, because state property. Costly but (may be this is the best in town) tasty food. Do not expect room service, but nice people. Visited Jan-2019
Well maintained hotel at affordable price. Clean and spacious. They also have a restaurant and food is good. Ample parking place and they also have rooms as per your budget. We had book two rooms for 1 night and it costed us 2285/- along with breakfast. Badami caves are just 10mins. Away from here by car.
This hotel is great, I have booked semi delux AC rooms.they are spacious Lot of greenary around Well cleaned and maintained room You will get food at order If visiting badami.go for this hotel No doubt
Just go for it.super clean.very helpful staff. Mahantesh the staff boy was very helpful.good food and very neatly kept room and the price is reasonable.it's about 1.3km from bus stand.
The Hotel is well maintained, clean, staff wear masks. Hotel is 1.5 kms from Badami Caves. Had taken non AC room, as it was a transit stay. Room was spacious and bathroom huge, was kept clean, has solar for hot water. The staff is cordial, accommodating and helpful. The only drawback is the food. It can be better. The taste doesn't justify the high pricing. If not for the food, this place would deserve 5 stars.
Hotel Mayura Chalukya is a great destination in Badami. Good stay and excellent food. Also very safe place. And that too just 2 km from Banashankari Temple. Stay at this hotel to cover all places in Badami i.e cave temples, Badami Archeological Museum and fort, Agastya lake, pattadakal and aihole. And of course Banashankari Temple. Its next to Court complex and Inspection Bungalow is also within its compound hence a safe place to Park your car overnight. The main gates are closed at night for extra safety. Garden and benches are a great attraction. Well maintained garden too. These photos are summer time. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall a must visit in Badami. My future visits to Badami will always start here henceforth.
This is going to be a long one. We usually stay in state tourism guest houses whichever state we visit. However our experience at Hotel Mayura Chalukya has been less than good. Telling you why- 1. Behaviour of the staff is inhospitable. Though I must add the female staff is much more polite and welcoming, that's the silver lining. 2. Food served tasteless and served disdainfully. 3. The semi deluxe room no 103 we got after having booked a month ago had probably the discarded mattresses and wooden crates in the name of furniture. When we raked up the issue the next day Mr Rizwan, the newly appointed manager, apologized and upgraded readily. Thanks to him our second day at Mayura Chalukya was better.
We Booked two standard AC rooms with complimentary breakfast at Hotel Mayura Chalukya through KSTDC website. Rooms were big enough n clean worth for the money. Website shows complimentary breakfast is available but there is no such. Too slow in food service and they were not sure from when the morning breakfast is available. I suggest to book rooms only for the stay do not depend the food service.
1) huge rooms 2) clean 3) affordable 4) awesome campus 5) beer is available 6) good food
Cons:
Very slow service We had an extra guest, which the manager charged extra 500 rs n never gave a receipt for it.thus made us think he pocketed the money Horrible tea
Nice rooms. Spacious with basic amenities. Great food at reasonable prices. Cleanliness and hospitality are of top notch. Location wise it's near from all the needs like petrol bunks, markets and most importantly the places to visit in Badami.
Comfortable Spacious Accommodation. It’s maintained by KSTD. Smooth check-in, helpful staff. Restaurant food is ok. However seems like this place is the only place for good food in Badami. Ample space for parking, very close to Badami Caves.
Pathetic rooms and restaurant. It seemed that the bedsheets were not also washed. The food served in restaurant was not hygienic or tasty at all the gravy was like masala floating in water. Would strongly recommend not to stay here.
Nicer deluxe rooms but pathetic semi deluxe. I stayed 2N and 3 D. 1st night in Semi-delux and next night shifted to deluxe. So 5star for deluxe and 3 star for semi. Great surrounding, proximity to tourist attractions are a.
This place is a real awesome thing that happened to us, kids enjoyed the room size and huge bed size, the washrooms were super clean and the restaurant too was good, I'm thankful to "Megha" who continuously kept on checking if I'm having a safe journey until I reached the property and then she guided how to go about the places. I'll specifically mention the room service help "Maltesh" who took care of assisting us with our small needs since early morning till late at night.
Serve delicious food and also an option of unlimited thali. They start the restaurant for lunch at 1: 30 PM only, but it’s worth to wait and have it, couldn’t find any other options around.
Compared to other KSTDC hotels, this 1 is just ok. But compared to other hotels in Badami, this is better option. No reserved parking, car shall be parked on road, rooms are ok, food was also ok.
Overpriced n no varieties either. Went for breakfast, they had only idli n vada. Both not good enough. They have ample parking space. Service is good but food is not good
Small, peaceful hotel. Spacious rooms with AC available. Few power cuts in the morning. However service at the restaurant is poor. Expect tea after 30 min of ordering.
Cannot expect south Indian Tali veg food although it is south really disappointing and room up keep not very good but people are cooperative and friendly
