Overated.the main thing in a fish meal is it's curry and thats worst here.compared that with Giri Manja and realised that they are way behind when its comes the base curry . They should do something about it!
Their fish thali is simply the best. Looks like an ordinary restaurant with its decor and outside design but the food is heavenly. Worth it. Also it's crowded most of the time which is another indicator why it's a great restaurant in Mangalore.
One of the oldest restaurant in Mangalore where you can get fresh fish. We had our lunch here and the fish they have served is really having amazing taste. If you are a fish lover then it's a must try restaurant in mangalore.
Here you will get only meals (i.e. Rice, veg palya, pickle and fish curry with small piece of fish). Then in side dish you can buy tawa fry fish and buttermilk. Food is very tasty and hygiene. Meals cost is cheaper but fry fish are bit expensive.
Had lot of expectations but not a 5 taste. Rice served was cold, fish was also fried long back. Dint taste so good very low salt content in fish so DISAPPOINTED.
Now facilities have been improved. Hotel has become more of a family place. Environment is rich and ofcourse Nrayana Hotel Anjal fry is awesome as usual
Guys Only fish fry is good Having food over there is a worst Feels like having some rice and fish curry of a jobda baddi hotel Should improve the taste and quality of fish curry
Tawa fish was great here, But fish curry rice sucked big time. Seems like over hyped place, This restaurant used to give awesome food once upon a time.but that's not the case now.
Its 'the man the myth the legend ' of budget restaurants in mangalore. Taste here surpasses many other so called star hotels of mangalore Having limited menu they deliver the best
One of the finest sea food restaurants of Mangalore. You will love the unique taste of the Fish fries offered here. Usually a bit crowded apart from Fridays. Best time to visit is between 12.30pm- 1.30pm to avoid waiting.
I have been to this restaurant, even though it was not too much crowded, the supplier made us wait for 15 mins and the fish fry arrived after I almost finished my meal, and they charge extra money for extra rice, whereas other restaurants have unlimited rice and also provide us with good fish curry, here in Narayan fish meal is not up to mark, I appreciate the taste of fish fry, but still over priced compared to other restaurants:)
This places amazes me each time we visit. The fish here has the heavenly taste you must savour for sure. Pricing is according to the season, meals for very cheap. Definately a must try!
No doubt the fish taste great, but when you are so popular and getting lots of love from the public, owner should work on guest service also, like for instance it was our first visit and waiter served us two butter milk without even asking, later i realized it's been charged. Nothing fancy in food, fish tastes great
Heared a lot about this place. You get food on banana leaf which was nice. You then order all the different types of fish / chicken / prawns / squid fries that you want to taste.here you will find many tourists. You will find fried masala added over your fish for some extra crisp. Should try if you are a food lover. Also, in the hotel vicinity is a boat which serves food.will check that next time
One of the best hotels in Mangalore. There will be rush in the afternoon, parking will be a problem if you are in a car. As there was rush when we visited afternoon, and we were in a hurry, we Visited again for dinner. The food was so yummy I must say. We ordered, Aykoora (Anjal) fish fry and Pomfret fry. It was one of the best I ever had. It was properly cooked, Masala's are yummy and tummy friendly. Most important, Fish was fresh, you can feel it. Rates are pocket friendly.worth for every money spent. It's a small hotel, but very cleanly maintained.
Definitely a hole in the wall sort of a place but oh so delicious! There's not a lot of room and you grab any seat you get but they do have a special table for ladies/families. I believe they have a set menu with white/boiled rice, fish curry, a vegetable gojju consisting a gourd of some sort and black eyed peas, lemon pickle and fish fry of your choice which is either Anjal and or Bangda. The food is absolutely drool worthy and for a fish lover its party in your mouth. The fish fry comes with house special chutney pudi that makes the fry delectable. The service is quick and they do expect you to not dilly dally. There are no frill to this place and its for those who just want to enjoy a good plate of food. Droooollll worthy!
Don't go there for ambience, but do go there for awesome hot fresh fish fry. Combined with basic Mangalorean meals it is nice. The waiters serve fish fry with separated fish masala powder, which adds to yumminess. Prices for premium cuts are slightly on the higher side for the place but not for taste
Visited there with no prior experience of typical Mangalore fish fry coz my frnd recommended. Skeptical in the beginning as the roads were also small. But taste of fishes are delicious. V also had meals and butter milk.
It is very old hotel and though the food is good but for prices they charge for the ambience they give is very expensive. I guess we may have other hotels in Mangalore which is equally good but we don't know.
Mangalore style vanas with special authentic anjal fish fry a must try here. People looking for authentic old tulu kudla style fish fry do visit here. Old place retaining the old ambience.
Beware! No menu card, discuss prices before eating, otherwise prices beyond good and evil. One portion of rice and two small fish costed us 580 Rs. Food very good though, yummy!
Awesome place for fish lovers. But mind it they only serve meals. Boiled rice with fish curry, puriyal and pickle. 2 types of fish and they have a different prices. But yummy I still would love to go there just for fish
Extremely high priced and too bad ambiance. Recommend for roadside food lovers who want to taste normal fish fries at 3 star price. Only fish fries are expensive and the hotel is mainly for fish fries only
One of the oldest fish curry rice restaurants in Mangalore. Been visiting this place since student days. It has retained it's old worldly charm Cuisine is excellent Mangalore fish curry fry etc. Plate meal of rice and fish curry is standard. Sorry you don't have alternative. Fish fry is the speciality here. Fresh fish with masala powder is fried on a thawa and served hot. Very spicy, beware! Fish fry is is reasonably priced compared to other joints. Visit early by 12.30 if you can. Place becomes extremely crowded later
