Hotel Samrat Ashoka

We have gone for lunch so no idea about room service but my relativies have stayed their and they had no complaints. Good location and parking facilities and good food served.

It was a good 2 night stay at this hotel.
Family friendly.
Ample parking space
Good location
Clean rooms.

The hotel has quite big and neatly maintained rooms for the price. They charged us 1200 for a night and the amenities were good for the price point. The only downside i felt was that there were some irritants like tv not working, intercom not working and unnecessary complaints by management for checking in late to a pre-paid room which IMO should be a non issue

Maiden visit. Stayed with friend for a day.
Average place with limited choice if food options but good restaurant.
Checkout time was 7PM and we informed in advance to Manager that we will checkout 2-3 hours late and he said it was fine.
However while checkout they demanded full 2nd day tariff which was totally unprofessional: (
Inspire of this bad experience we voluntarily reminded them that they missed to charge room food service charges of around ₹700.

Due to above unprofessional experience of Manager (who appeared to be owner). I will never stay in this lodge and never recommend to others.

Visited only the restaurant. The food is good but lacks options and variety. It's decently priced and the service is good as well. The hotel itself is spacious as well. Very close to the bus station.

Old structure with spacious rooms with well ventilated. 10-15 meters inside BH road adjucent to Bhima Jewellers. Service is good beautiful reception counter and enough parking space. Room service starts from 7.30 am onwards.

Very near to busstand. Conventional big rooms, rooms with no frills, just check ur room has separate bathroom. Many hotels in shimoga has common bathroom with low tariff. First time seeing commodes of this hight. Virtually one has to stand

Not so great. Ideally for a bachelor for a night stay. I got a smoking room which I had to manually change and ask them to spray room freshner. Need to maintain quality instead of chalta hai attitude. Lifts are been old. Hotel staff are helpful expect the receptionist

We stopped here for lunch. This is right on the way to Sagara. Very reasonably priced food. We had meals, which were very tasty, and the service was very good. The management was very polite and generous.

ವಸತಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಒಬ್ಬರು ಉಳಿಯುವ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದೆ. ಒಂದೊಳ್ಳೆ ದರಕ್ಕೆ ಉಳಿಯುವ ಕೋಣೆಗಳು ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತವೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯವರೂ ಕೂಡ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಹೋಟೆಲಿನ ಕೋಣೆಗಳು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛವಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಒಂದು ಮೆಡಿಮಿಕ್ಸ ಸೋಪು ಮತ್ತೆ ನೀರಿನ ಬಾಟಲಿಯನ್ನು ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಹೋಟೆಲನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಶಿಫಾರಸು ಮಾಡಲು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಎದ್ದಾಗ ಒಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಇತ್ತು; ಅವರ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಬಹಳ ಖುಷಿಯಾಯಿತು.

Good hotel in a prime location, with budget friendly and good veg restaurant. Room's are big enough and well ventilated, best suited for families.you'll have no regrets after staying here.:)

Very nice place for to book a room.you could get single or double or 4 bed rooms ac or non ac at reasonable price.

Good hotel recommended for Business & Family stay. I stayed for 1 night room cleaning, staff & Food is very good. Hotel is near to shimoga bus stand. Got lot of car parking space. Market is near by. They got well trained staff. One most try south Indian meal from hotel restaurant.

I always prefer this place, when I visit Shimoga. Primarily for 2 reasons. One is pleasant stay and two is awesome dosas. Stay is really nice. Staff is good and provides quick service. Dosas are awesome here. I like them since many years now. My kid likes the dosas and watermelon juice here. A must try place. Specially if you bare coming from Maharashtra or other parts of North India, you will like the taste here.

It is near to shimoga bus stand. I had booked a single room which was pretty good for the price they charge. Very reasonable price. But the staff r not friendly

It is NOT the same Samrat Ashok ANYMORE!

The hotel itself has moved to the backside from where this was situated earlier.
Some of the reasons why we used to visit this place was, clean good toilets and decent Thali just suitable for highway travellers. The toilets are now reduced to just one toilet and the approach to it is not level and has become a Hazzard for elderly customers.

Now the area itself has transformed and so is the hotel.
Would not recommend this for highway travellers anymore. Locals could still go there.

This place is walk-able distance from Shivmogga Pvt bus stand. The rooms are quiet big and worth the price. The beds are King size and can accommodate 3 easily. Service was good as well

Good hotel with respect to the location, service and safety. Even though it's a traditional hotel rooms are clean, neat and spacious. U can't get this facility at this cost. Also food is delicious. Overall I recommend for family stay.

Very nice to stay.very cleanliness, the prices are very teadonable and the hotel is attached with a restaurant where you can get both north and south indian dishes.very tasty

From outside hotel looks good but once you enter room the experience will go bad.the bathroom water taps were not working properly. U ill take some time to find the switches of charging ports. We asked reception he was ignorant

I have stayed in a 4 bed room. Good enough if your group is on a budget trip, just want to spend the night and move on next morning.
Nothing special. At a walkable distance from the bus station and has 4/2 wheeler parking.

Restaurant is very clean neat and scenic.
And clean staff clean service and descent food.

Overall i felt good that i chose this restaurant for my family to lunch and dine.

Good work restaurant. Maintain the same
