Visited on a Thursday, very peaceful and lovely winds. Carry sunglasses/Cap/Water.
Picturesque views on top, there is a small trail heading to left side of the temple, follow that and it will take you to open space and views.

Medium level trek, required climbing a lot of stairs. The views along the way were good. Nothing exceptional though.

Beautiful location for trekking & visiting Lord Veer Bhadra Swamy temple at the hill top. The temple & the ramparts were built by Chola kings about a thousand years ago.
The trek is relatively easier & one can reach the top in 1 to 1.5 hours. Stairs are built with handrails. Temporary shades have been built all the way through the top. There is a Nandi temple on the way. Lots of locals visit this place for paying tributes to Lord Veerbhadra Swamy. Suitable for people of all age groups. Carry water on the way. At the start there is an arch, where there are couple of shops and a Kalyana Mandap. They serve free lunches between 1 and 3 PM everyday, free of cost. Locals are extremely friendly & helpful. Maintain the sanctity of this place. There is ample parking space available.

Amazing place for hiking and short bike rides, this place has 1500 steps to reach the top of the hill carry water bottle to be hydrated and some snacks at the top we can find veerabadra Swami temple which is opened for only 3 days in a week Sunday, Friday and Wednesday, we will be partnered with monkeys be careful

Hulikadi Veerabhadreshwara temple is located at the top of the Hill. As per locals temple is open only on Tueyand Friday. It's a great Trekking place very less crowd, lots of greenery, very nicely laid steps and stairs helps while climbing although it's very steep few places. Please carry your own metal water bottle and don't letter the place help to keep it clean as it is kept by nature.

The place is very close to Bangalore and a beautiful half a day trip recommended. Very beautiful place with a lil trek with 1400 steps and lil bit of walking and this place is least visited except a few who follow the posts on Instagram. The temple on the top of the hill is open only on Tuesday, Friday n Sunday so if planning to visit the temple also please plan accordingly.

Nice small trekking place, almost 1.5hr from the heart of Bengaluru
If ur from South of Bangalore, you can travel via Hesarghatta route for awesome views and greenery.
Best to travel early morning, and start the Trek before 7-8am to avoid the sun

It's a simple 1hr climb, and u can explore the temple, historical wall/fort and the open spaces at the top for a great view

Beautiful.clean and neat hill. Veerabadraswamy temple is very nice.
Moderate trekking. Enough space is available for car parking in the basement of the hill.
We started climb up by 6-30. Beautiful landscape view from the top.

Not a regular trekking place, there are steps upto the temple at the top. We tried to explore the area around the top.
It will take 1 to 1.5 hours to climb.
Almost 1 hour drive from North Bengaluru.

Nice drive from Bangalore, only the final patch (~1km) of roads are bad, reasonable amount of (uncovered) parking space for cars. The steps up to the top are truly treacherous for the uninitiated but the view from the top makes it all worthwhile. I didn't really count, but there are probably about 350-500 steps to the top. Not all of them are of even height. If you're fit, you could probably do the whole thing in 45 mins. Took me an hour and a half. We started at 9: 45-ish and the last of us reached the top by 11: 15-ish. Spent a good few hours resting under the cool shade of a giant boulder. We were back down by 2: 45. Gets very hot on the way up even though there are plenty of sheds on the way where you can catch your breath. The view up top is worth it, but be warned: This will take a toll on your knees, thighs and lungs if you live a sedentary lifestyle. Take lots of water and sun protection
Tip: Go on a cloudy day or after the monsoons. Things should be a lot cooler and greenery a lot more lush.

It's a beautiful place to go for sunrise or sunset. Close to dodballapur town. Takes about 30min to get to the peak.

Good place for weekend trekking. We can seek blessings of lord veerbhadra swamy also. Lot of parking space available at the starting point. On an average it takes two hours to reach the top.

Very pleasant and moderately clean hill with temples. Please don't discard garbage over here. Aj amazing location for halfna day hike excluding travel time to get here. Not wise to disturb wild bee hives as they can come chasing behind you. Don't go alone except temple and stairs area. Plenty of parking available but unfortunately the road leading to this hill is not good at all. I hope MLA of this construction is not in deep sleep.

Just follow the maps, road is in bad condition till the destination, and it’s a 25mins climb up to the hill top, pretty steep for elderly people, there is a temple half way. Nothing much at the top except the view, good to go for sunrise or sunset

It's a nice, calm place to trek. Few patches of the mountain is but risky. Should be careful as well. Best time to visit this place is early morning. Start the trek at 6Am.

The place is as it is, is really beautiful. I request people not to throw garbage everywhere!

Firstly, name on the arch for the place says HULUKUDI. But name on the map says otherwise, that too sounds different in Kannada and English!

Map also shows the place to be further ahead than the actual start point.

There are steps throughout the trek. On the way you'll find lot of beehives and a shiva temple. Next you'll find a pond. To its right you'll find old buildings from Chola dynasty (apparently). Once you cross these buildings you can head 3 ways.
1. Leftmost - here you've to climb a huge rock by your own and once you're done you'll reach an old building with no doors and two windows! During chola dynasty they used this to store weapons. From here you'll get to see a good view of the pond and temples above.
2. Left with railings - you need to go here for veerabhadra temple. There aren't steps initially but then you'll find steps which lead to the beautiful temple. They open it on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays. (not sure and Tuesday and Friday but sunday for sure!)
3. Straight - you can go straight ahead in the steps rightaway for Devi temple. Or from veera bhadra temple.

It will take around 1 hour to climb and 30 minutes to go back again!

This mountain is good for trekkers and has two temples on the tip of the mountain to visit, one temple is of lord Veerabharaswamy and the other one is of Devi Bhadrakalamma. The temples are open only on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

Beautiful hill. There are steps and railings until the top. It is advised to walk bare foot as there's a temple at the top. Temple was closed when I went (saturday), from the locals i heard temple would be open on Fridays. Beautiful views from the top, lot of monkeys too, so don't carry any eatables loosely it'd be snatched off. Lot of plastic waste near the temple though so please don't litter. Can be hiked even during rain as there are shelters built on the path. Overall a good hill to hike during weekends. Anyone who can walk can climb this easily.

Reached on Sunday, 18th Sep’22 evening via a deviation from a lake side to experience short off-roading. Road to this route was a surprise as we wanted to spent some time at the lake before reaching hill top temple.
Approximately more than 1500 steep steps to climb to the top of the temple. Seasoned trekkers can climb in 30 minutes and ~45+ minutes for rest. Met a forest ranger who advised not to get into Rock pond before reaching temple as it’s too deep and dangerous. Also cautioned to come before its dark as Leopard and Bear roam in and around the mountain. Good place for a Sunset view (provided clouds permit). Carry enough water and some snacks or food to energise. Temples were closed.
No entry ticket. Decent parking space. Few steps are under progress in the mid way.

Decent trekking spot near Bangalore, the climb is atbeat easy to moderate and can be completed in 1.5 hours max. The trek start point is near temple and there are couple of places which have sheds to take shelter either from scorching sun or rains which is a nice touch. Path is well laid out and for a stretch where steps are cut in rocks there is metal rod that runs along the steps to prove support. Enjoy the nice view from the top and stop by the lake nearby if you have time.
There is ample parking space near the temple. Make sure you carry enough water and snacks as there are no shops around but please don't litter.

Here we have to climb up for viewpoint and fir temple. It takes around 2 hrs for us to climb with our group and steps are there because of that we will lose energy. After visiting temple the temple provide food after climbing down the steps. Parking facility ok and the viewpoint is also good. Very old history iss there for this temple

Nice place, thousands of steps, going to the top of the hill is a very good experience. You feel, something achieved. Once you reach top, the cooling effect washes away your complete tiredness. You may feel to drink water till the time you reach there. Just relax for few minutes over there, you feel refreshed. Be little careful while climbing up and down, some areas are little dangerous, especially for kids and ladies.

It's a good ride to this place. I prefer bike rather than car. Resturants and shops are not available (only one small shop is there nearby), so it is good to take your own food or you can buy at Belavangala (nearest town to this place) while coming. Temple will be opened only three days a week (that includes Sunday and Friday. Anybody can complete this trek, it hardly takes an hour to do it. We did it in less than 40 mins. There are few good view spots during the climb. Three temples (one in the middle of the path, two at the top), one kalyani is also there. Please be very careful near the kalyani, it's very slippery and many have died in it.
Two wheeler and four wheeler parking is available at the base.

The best one compared to other hills nearby. Free of cost no need of buying tickets. Sufficient place for parking. Best place to enjoy your day with family and friends. The sunrise looks beautiful from the view point. There is a lake on the top of the hill which is main attraction where you can enjoy in water and there is no restrictions and temple is located on the other side were you can take blessings of lord veerabadraa Swami.

A well day off from Bangalore, Go for the sunrise, everyone will love it, and climb down before the sun hits, and plan for the places near by (can visit mandaragiri hill)

Hi. Firends this hulukadi betta in doddaballapur near sakkaregollalli do visit really it vl a best 1 day trip destination nice shiva temple.

Trek is not easy. Takes 35 mins to top. Early morning 6am is the best time to start from bottom. Free Parking is there for all vehicles. No monkeys or any other animals. Railing available till the top. View is amazing! Underrated place in Bangalore!

Serene is beautiful, take lot of drinking water, need to climb a lot of stairs to reach the top for at least 1 hr. Easier to climb when the sun is not on the top of the head. Temple is open till 4 pm and food is available till 6pm

Great location for a short hike (35-40 minutes to climb). Well laid steps all the way make this trek easier. There are some great rock formations mid way with lots of beehives. If you look closely, you may see monkeys trying to get their fair share from dried hives on the steep rocks. There are lot of bushes/trees next to these beehives with a lot of birds. If you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of eagles. There is a big temple at the base with tons of space to park. Approach road is quite good expect for last stretch near the mountain but it’s manageable if you drive a bit slowly and carefully.

There are two ways for trekking. One is near temple easy one with steps. Other one is slightly difficult one. Slightly slippery and finding the route to the top will be verry difficult. We stared from temple route and came down in other route. Good experience. There is no proper navigation marks so slightly difficult so be careful.

Best place. Cool calm and 45 minutes trekking to reach the top where 2 temples are there. Namely Virabhadra and Kalikamba temple. Ideal u should start early morning because temple will close by 3 pm. Carry water food if required. Top of the hill route is bit steepy. Temple open only 3 days As informed By temple priest it wi open onlyTuesday Friday n Sunday.and Karthika Monday.

The place is worth a trek! Do carry lots of food and water on your trip (There are very few restaurants and shops around Hulukadi Betta). Beware of the monkeys too!

A wonderful place for short ride and trekking from Bangalore, you will get amazing feel/chill air and best climate if you go top especially early in the morning! Till top it has steps and supporting bars and some rest points so even first timers also can climb easily!

There are around 1500 steps that will lead you to the top. You can find a small pond and a temple there. Best time to go is from july-feb it will be freezing cold and misty.

Beautiful place for a small trek, good view. But beware of leopards and temple opening days with time.

Very nice and clam place. On top of the hill there is a Veerbhadra swamy temple. It's easy trek and you can accompany your family and kids.
Temple will be open only on Sundays. Since there will be less crowd it is advised to go on Sundays.
View from top of the hill is very nice. When you are on top of the hill do not forget to take a round of the hill to enjoy the scenery

Recommend visiting in the early hours. It's just beautiful. In the afternoon it might be too tiring to climb. Almost a hour of clump to the temple at the top. For bikers, there are a few off-roads around this place. Be alert while riding towards this place and you might find it a few trails leading to a dry lake bed.

Awesome place just 60km from bangalore temple is there for that u have to climb stairs no other way to reach up except stairs, Once you reached up you feel heaven nature bueaty that possible Due to hard work by local people to make that stairs.

Fine pilgrim place with steps to move. No road for vehicles and also no foodand water facility at the top.

It was a good ride to this place. You see a lot of greenery on the way. The mountain has steps with support to climb to the top. There are two small temples at the top and some broken stone rooms, a small pond. The view is beautiful from the top.

Historic temple of Lord Veerabhadra on the top of the hill along with Kali temple, just above a perennial small pond. About 1500 steps, moderate and easy to negotiate, take up the hill. There's also a dasoha facility available at the foot of the hill on three days of the week. Views from above are beautiful. Hiking up early morning is better. Please also spend sometime exploring the hill without littering. Village has provided very good facility for the devotees visiting the ancient temple.

This is a very peaceful hill with beautiful view from top. A good trek of 1500 steps early in the morning is a very good experience:) This place is quite lonely. So better go with a small group atleast:)

Absolutely beautiful place! Can't believe it's so underrated. Not very far from Nandi hills and the road to this place is also too good for riding.

A good trek of 1500 steps would take you to the top of Hulukadi hill. There is a small temple of Veerabhadreshwara.
We reached at around 9 am and there was no one at such a beautiful place. I highly recommend all bangaloreans to explore this place, although on a cloudy day!

Nice place for a weekend drive and hike. The road leading to this place is good for most part. You have about 3 to 4 km hike up an down the hill. There is a temple at the top and there are stairs all the way up. It does get a bit steep on the latter part of the hike but its manageable. There are no shops or restaurants on the way or at the bottom of the hill, so carry your own supplies. Nice views from the top. Try to go during winters as the heat can be scorching.
