My experience with IDP Canada was seamless. The new Canadian counselor is very rude and incompetent. They provide false information at first and later change their words when we ask them to send the list of universities and spam our e-mail ID and WhatsApp number with a bunch of seminars which are not worth attending. I haven't seen any counselor with such an attitude
When I was lost without any directions for my studies in the USA, I was directed towards IDP Mysuru by my friend Karthik BV who referred Seema Ma’am to me. As soon as I got her contact, I got an appointment and met her.
Here’s my case: 12th in 2019. Left 12th and started working in the Film industry from 2014.8.5 years and 15 film experience. A huge gap of literally 4 years.
June 24th, 2022: When I met Seema ma’am. She made me believe that my case would be possible in getting a visa for my studies. The first meeting and counselling of 15 minutes helped me overcome the fear of the last 5 years.
Seema ma'am took my case up as a challenge and told me the things I needed to prepare for making my profile. That is when I got the strong belief that I will be able to get an acceptance from a University in the USA and advised to make a website and tell people what I am through that. She also suggested that I do some online courses to stay concurrent with the knowledge of the industry. I followed this advise and got myself a certificate from the University of East Anglia and also a Diploma in acting by July.
Ma’am shortlisted several universities for me. I only preferred the NYC region and she had it all ready in a day. I got admits from Pace and FDU with huge scholarships for the spring intake. I was ready to go ahead with Pace. But, the slots didn't open for spring. I was told by the university to defer to the fall semester. I had no choice but to accept that and defer.
In March 2023, I attended the IDP Mysuru Conference at Radisson Blu hotel where I got to know that even Arizona State University, and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee were also offering courses in Film. I requested Seema ma’am to apply to these 2 universities so that I will have 4 acceptance at least for my profile. My first Visa mock was a total disaster! I didn’t even answer a single question completely. I left everything hanging. That is when Ma’am suggested what I do to make up. My second mock was better by 30%. I had no confidence, but still my answers were correct. I was literally shivering while answering the questions. Ma’am suggested that I practise the answers in front of a mirror to build confidence which I followed. My third mock was a great improvement with proper answers. But, my pace wasn’t good. I was given instructions on how to set the pace. I followed the advise and Ma’am was happy with my answers.
April 19,2023: Consular appointment at the Chennai Consulate. 9: 46, I stood in front of the Visa Officer. 25 seconds. 3 questions & 3 answers. 2 greetings. 1 approval. I rushed back outside. Told my mom and dad and then, the first person I called was Seema ma’am. Where she was also overjoyed with the outcome.
Such is the impact the Seema Ma’am and IDP has had on my life. Without that one phone call in June 2022, I would be no where, but with that 1 phone call, I was put on a path where I was accepted 5 universities with scholarships and I am now going to the USA with an F-1 visa which was approved within 30 seconds.
Special Thanks to Sana Khalid ma’am, and Dhieksha ma’am for helping me when Seema ma’am wasn’t in the office. Thanks to the office staff who greeted me with a smile every time I went in and gave me water, coffee to drink while I was waiting and helping out with printouts and couriers.
I will forever be indebted to IDP and especially to Seema Ma’am where she has gone out of the way for me so many times and gotten all the needed help done. Here, I was able to have 3 meetings before even I was told that a mere 6,000 would be charged. Which was just a penny in front of what they others had demanded from me before.
