Best place to enjoy the nature at its best. Do reach as early as 6 Am to enjoy the sunrise. Need to buy tickets at the entrance. Request people not to litter at this place. Few steps are there to reach at peak. Even you have view stand. They have also made a hut where we can sit and have food which we have got.

Road was not so good but we can reach our destination. The place was awesome and just we are flying in cloud

Today 9-april-2023, this is closed, due to heavy dry grass, and the fire season, to avoid fire accidents. Need to wait, till get the permissions from the forest department.

"Jogimatti" an unknown treasure in Chitradurga. It is never less than any hill station in Karnataka. It was so hot untill you reach this place. After reaching there it was an wholesome experience. They charge around rupees per person and it takes around 30 minutes to reach hill top while the roads to reach there are very bad filled with pot holes. Ignore the roads and reach the most beautiful destinations in Chitradurga. After you park your vehicle you have to take around 100-150 steps to reach top of the hill where an beautiful landscape is present. You will just love the view with 360° landscape filled with greenery and windmills. The windmills planted on mountains add extra beauty. There is an temple and watch tower too on the hill top. Also while coming back you can visit the zoo where you can spend around 2 hour of your time.

I visited in month of October and clouds were touching the mountain top. Such an amazing view it was!

Jogimatti forest is the best hill station in Chitradurga district.
If you are staying for one night also in Chitradurga, jogimatti is a must visit place, especially in morning hours.
You can go by car till the govt guest house.
4-5 km road is not good, but still you can go by car,
You can see deers, peacocks while going.
1000 to 1300 steps must visit place to Swamiji gadduge, that is the top most point in jogimatti, full of fog, feels like heaven.
You can also visit zoo.

It is like mini ooty during monsoon, u should visit during early morning, u can enjoy the seen then go to adumaaleshwara it's like small zoo and have breakfast and enroute to chitradurga fort

It's a good place in monsoon season to visit in early morning and enjoy for some time and here you can visit a mini zoo also.
You can plan early morning for Jogimatti and then Fort and after that you can relax in Chandravalli / Murughamatha
All places are having entre free of Rs 25-30
Here you can plan for one day trip accordingly.
You can experience a simple trek also.

It is a very cool foggy place near Chitradurga. We visited in monsoon season so it was full of fog and chilling. The road is very bad, I wonder what the first department is doing with all collected money. They charge ₹35/- per head as entrance which is slightly higher compared to other tourist places. On weekends it's too crowded. There is also a zoo nearby that you can visit, limited animals like bear, cheetah, parrots, peacocks, deers and jackal being main attractions. Suggest to go early in the morning by 6 am to cover both places.

This is a beautiful place to enjoy nature and the landscape. The road is not well maintained and it takes a long time to cover the distance to the top, but once there, the view is breathtaking. Probably the best time to visit would be early morning, but we went in the afternoon. Luckily it was cloudy and very pleasant during our visit.

Went there Jan 29 2022, it was closed for public.

The forest officials said it will be closed till may 2022 due to summer. Check if it is open early mornings before you visit.

Super cool. Windiest. Over 2000 acres of green forest. Lovely view tower. 6am to 9am is an ideal time to visit. During or soon after monsoon is more beautiful. No public transport. A small eatery at the gate is handy but serves breakfast only on Sundays!

It has been closed since 20 days please Don’t make any plans to visit this place till May 2022 because it’s going to open in the month of May 2022

Visited on 30th December 2021. It is around 9 kms from the Chitradurga fort. Entry charges were 25 rs per person and 50 rs for the car. The road after the check post till the view point has lot of potholes and the road is curvy and a bit narrow but easily manageable. We visited at 9: 30 am so there was not any fog but the views were good, especially from the watchtower with gusty winds. It's better to visit this place early morning to experience the fog. We didn't visit the Himadhgiri waterfalls as it's a seasonal waterfall and better visited after monsoons.

A hidden natural beauty in the historical Fort City of Chitradurga. It is a forest reserve area, under the Forest Department of Karnataka, but one can gain access on arrival. A small nature preserve that everyone should visit, after the seeing & hearing the valiant tales that took place at the Chitradurga Fort!

Best Place to have a refreshing time for a tired weekend. It's Guest houses are really good and an amazing place for the stay. You need to pay some fees to enter here and also have to pay for your vehicle.
You can go for trecking here and enjoy the environment.

The visiting time is 6am to 12pm. Dot go late and advise to go as early as possible to have a good feel on natural beauty and climate.

Half hour drive from base to the top. Road is in bad condition. But the top view is good and windy. Vist early morning hours for better experience.

A cool place in Chitradurga, which is normally known for hot weather. Early morning is ideal time to visit this place.
Narrow and bumpy road, better to carry enough water and food.

Loved the place, even in the afternoon. The steps, the scenic backdrop gives you a sense of joy and satisfaction.
The near by zoo is very bad. People near the entry point of the zoo boost about all the animals that are there. Sad reality is that you walk out of the zoo with a disappointment in your face. So, zoo is definitely not a recommendation

Jogimatti is a hill station and forest reserve in Chitradurga district, Karnataka, India. The reserve covers 10,048.97 hectares (38.7993 sq mi) in Chitradurga, Holalkere and Hiriyur taluks, 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south of the city of Chitradurga. There is a century-old hilltop bungalow built by the British to house travellers, and a nearby temple dedicated to the local saint for whom the hill station was named, with 155 steps. The reserve has a small zoo called Adumalleshwar, which the Central Zoo Authority of India ordered renovated in 2012 to better house the animals, and an ecotourism adventure centre which opened in 2010. [2][3] A waterfall called Himavatkedara or Himavatkedra has created a natural cave in which a Shiva lingam and idols of Veerabhadra and Basavanna have been placed.

Jogimatti is the highest point in the district, at 3,803 feet (1,159 m) in elevation, [4] and one of the coolest places in the state. The vegetation is dry deciduous forest and scrub. It is rich in wildlife[5] and until the 1950s was tiger habitat, but is threatened by encroachment from farms and from nearby windmills, [6] which endanger birds. The tigers and sloth bears are reported to have almost died out, and the medicinal plants found in the reserve are endangered. A proposal has been made to declare it a wildlife refuge. Jogimatti was declared as sanctuary in 2018.

This is the best place to visit early morning because heavy snowfall and wind breeze can be seen and only private vehicles are allowed to enter

Camera fee SCAM!

Since this is the highest point in the district, it is covered with fog till 8-9am. Visited during September. Narrow road with great views on both the sides. Try to stop by enjoy the scenery.
The scam that I experienced was the fee for DSLR (18-55mm lens) cameras. Paid Rs 400 for that. Make sure that you only take the camera out after you cross the entry gate. There's no one to check the tickets later on.

It's most new beautiful excellent climate superb viewpoints and more and more is an excellent place to watch in early morning the climate is very cool and attracting atmosphere but wood is not good none other than everything is good but they are are not maintaining well on the place so please avoid the plastic on the forest areas and one place is there small temple is a actually it's an excellent to view. Two or more places is there the excellent 2 visit again and again call only the place is perfect to spend occasions and holidays with friends and lovers and family fantastic for visiting the place I am so exiting to visiting that place thank you thank you so much to make this place to beautiful and nature

Can't belive it's like malenadu af Chitradurga and Ooty like climate, very nice visited place, entry fee is there and also vehicle fee is there, beside a mini zoo that is nice to visit.

Must visit place near chitradurga. Heaven on earth experience. Road to view point is single narrow road and is not good. Otherwise great place to spend time with friends and family

Heaven on earth. Plz visit this place early morning. Keep the place clean. Don't throw stuffs and don't make that place messy. You have a hotel on the way. Be careful on the top of the hill. Best place to relax. Entry fee is there.
But Hard place for aged persons. But they can visit at least the parking place on the top and enjoy the beauty of the nature.
You will get Malenadu feels only when you go early, if not you can't enjoy the place. Go with the water bottles. Car, bikes, autos are allowed.

Open early mornings from 6-10 in winter and rainy seasons. Worth every minute you spend there and it's not very far away from the town.

It's my all time fev place to hang out, I am from local so love to being here, there is certain season to visit jogimatti during rainy and winter it's a must visit place cos it's also called as 2nd Ooty, it's a wild life and reserved forest, timings to visit morning 6 am to 11am, you can stay thr in home stays and banglow for VIPs in a short it's a highly recommend place

Hey guys make sure to take the permission from FOREST DEPARTMENT in chitradurga if you are visiting the place after 10am bcz the timings is from 6am to 10am.as we were not aware of it we had to run back to chitradurga and get the permission comming to the place you can drive your own vehicle inside the woods for about 7km there were caution boards awaring us about the presence of wild animals there.but we couldn't find any of them. At the top there is an guest house and you for to climb around 148 steps to reach the top where you have the view point and the view from here is mesmarising you cannot offer to miss it! And it's quite windy at the top there are lot of butterflies there it could be rather calledBUTTERFLY HILL

Lovely place. Visit early morning. Full of mist and heavy wind. Inside forest. Hill top. Also a small zoo. You need to go in car. Walking not allowed to Hill top. My kids loved it.

A very beautiful place to escape from buzzing of city life. During rainy season, it's awesome. In winter it's amazing. In summer, full wind. So it's all season place to visit. Entry fee here is 25 Rs per person and 50 Rs for car. Roads are bit narrow, but not that difficult to drive. It's better if you carry eatables.
Please keep the environment clean.

Awesome place, should visit this place early morning which we could get see fog covered all over hills, scenic place. The route to reach the place isn't that good need to be careful while driving to this place, till the arch the road is good once you enter the arch after taking entry ticket the road is worst, be safe.

It is a very beautiful experience after you reach the top. But the road as well as the basic facilities at the top need to be improved by the authorities.
