I recently had a pleasure of staying with family at what can only be described as the best homestay experience, Kananna homestay natural beauty place, this have provided a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The rooms were clean and tidy, the homestay”s kitchen served up a cultural dishes, thanks for the host and property owner Jayaprakash

Food-malnad style tasty, homely and quality food with wide variety (my favourite being Malnad style akki and ragi rotti served hot one after the other rite from the tawa with ghee, awesome greavy and chutney).

My family and I visited Kaanana during the onset of monsoon at June end for 3 nights and 4 days. The goodness of the place is captured not because of any fancy technology but by the serene beauty of nature. They have let nature grow on its own and surround the property, which is what makes it the most relaxing and rejuvenating. To add up to the wonderful experience is the variety of local cuisine meals being served thrice a day along with snacks. During our entire stay, not a single dish was repeated. The extravagant flora and fauna is what makes Kaanana unique and worth every penny. Perfect way to calm yourself from the usual hectic city life.
Last but not the least the hosts and all the staffs are very welcoming and ensure that the property is maintained beautifully without disrupting our mother nature!

It's a home away home experience to stay at Kanana. The hosts Jaya Prakash and his wife are welcoming, warm & friendly. The entire estate is kept very clean and natural with picturesque views of paddy fields, pond, coffee estates and mountains.
They serve mostly veg food which is absolutely delicious and if you prefer they will serve chicken as well. This place is pet friendly, close by to Bisile Ghat, Kukke Subramanya.

Good place to hang out with friends n family.good & tasty malnad food. Prakash the owner is very much dedicated n friendly.

Recently we visited kanana for the third time in four years. We have always stayed in the room besides the restaurant. In so many years we have not seen any change in the services of the place or the serenity of the surrounding. The owner Mr jayaprakash and i exchange messages once in a while irrespective of any travel plans from us. The food, the hospitality and experience is to the point.

Very Good Home stay. We had a pleasant stay. Home stay surrounded by greenary. The absence of network makes you to live and enjoy in the homestay.

Kitchen is far away from independent room which makes it challenging with kids/elders otherwise this is not a problem.

Overall it is a good homestay to relax and enjoy.

If you are looking for noise free, eco friendly, pure nature, home food, place to relax then this is the place to come. My first visit and I was had a great treat. Host Jayaprakash was amazing and he helped us a lot as we did not have a car with us.

We visited Kaanana homestay for 3 days and 2 nights. This please is heavenly. After the stay the whole family felt refreshed and rejuvenated.

The rooms were very clean, tidy and spacious. The property is very well maintained and is amidst the natural beauty of nature. Food was one of the best parts of our stay. Every meal was so tasty, authentic and healthy which are served with smiling faces. We are already missing the food.

The hosts Jayaprakash and his wife are very friendly and we felt at ease talking to them. The staff's smiling faces adds to the cheer all around.

Amazing place in the midst of nature … Great food …. Awesome coffee… and a very humble and friendly host. Well maintained and hygienic rooms with 24 hrs hot water. All in all an amazing experience and definitely a place to come back again.

Been here twice. Location is great. 5 minutes drive from the main state highway. This place is ideal for large groups. There are lot of open spaces which is great. Food is excellent and Jayasprakash is a wonferful host.

Last week, I travelled here with four other friends. Amazing stay at Kanana Homestay, with the place being serene and peaceful and covered in rich greenery. Food was incredibly authentic, and JP was a wonderful host.

One of the best homestays in and around Sakleshpur. JP sir is a great host! The rooms are clean and spacious, the food is tasty (authentic Malnad style) and the overall experience is outstanding.

Mr. Jayaprakash is an excellent host and took care of us like his personal guests. The place is well located close to Mookanamane Falls; Kaginahare view point, Bisile and other tourist places. They serve home food and all their staff members are well behaved and soft spoken. Worth spending your weekend at this place.

This is one of the best homestay around Sakleshpura. Very calm, peaceful and serene place. Food was sumptuous and homely Malnad style. One can plan workcation as well here. Jaya Prakash is one of the very professional host and nice gentleman I've come across. Place is highly recommended for couples and group of couples.

My husband and I completely enjoyed the stay especially the food! JP treats his guests marvellously! Right from the shuttle play area, bonfire, lil ponds, surrounding coffee plantation, were filled with scenic beauty. For people wishing to stay in nature centric, calm and comfortable homestay this would be the best!
With heartwarming memories we returned to Bangalore!

One of best home stays I have been in my life, well maintained rooms and property, with greenery across and good scenic view. Bonfire in the night was good. Home made food was pretty decent (South Indian food).

Well well well! This is a hidden gem and perfectly located in the middle of picturesque Western Ghats.
To start with the - owner JayPrakash (JP) is one host you'll never forget because of his nature, hospitality, willing to always take a step to make the guests comfortable and what not.
And the food is so tasty, authentic and organic that you'll love south indian delicacies even if you were not a huge fan.
The rooms, dining area and common area were extremely neat & clean and special attention was given to maintain hygiene in this Covid situation. The owner makes sure that you have less of common things shared between different guests. You'll get a dining table allocated, an area allocated for bonefire too so that you stay in distance with other families.
Moreover, they only have 4 rooms so not many people would be staying at one time.
The best part is the location. 30 mins drive to Bisle or the waterfalls and the premises have a sprawling view of the meadows.
Owner will also take you to a short trek (2hs) in the morning to a nearby hill and a walk in the meadows in the evening. Make sure you don't miss these.

Be sure to gain weight during your stay as you'll be having food for four times (evening snacks have a lot of starters) and two times tea/coffee.

I loved this one and would certainly recommend this to all the folks who are looking to have a peaceful stay with all the food arrangements sorted

It was a really pleasant stay and the hospitality of JP is just amazing. Down to earth person. Food is really amazing. Really good stay if you are planning for bachelors also. Hoping to visit again.
