KAAV Safari Lodge, Kabini

Very nice property, great service and amazing staff - ideally place to relax and enjoy nature

Last month we stayed at kaav safari lodge in Kabini. Seeing the pictures & tariff we thought it would be a fabulous property amidst the jungle. But to our utter disappointment we were taken aback by the services they offer. It was really pathetic & absolutely not value for money. Don’t get lured by the pictures posted on their site. Sorry to say, Not worth visiting & dumping ur money.

Cost is quite high. After paying such high costs the expectations increase, which Kaav does not fulfill at all.
The rooms were okay, the food was good. But the location, property maintenance was worst. The cost can be definitely brought down.

Had a memorable stay at Kaav. Divya took ensured we had a wonderful time at Kaav and made sure we had everything we needed. Sujith and avid naturalist imparted onto us a lot of interesting facts and information about the wildlife in Kabini. The entire staff of Kaav was wonderful. The place is beautiful. Highly recommend!:)

Definitely not worth Rs 20000 per night. Zero efforts on property maintenance. Food and rooms were relatively better, but still that does not justify the high cost they charge.

Kaav is a wonderful, calm and serene place that is as close to nature as you can wish for. A perfect place for nature lovers who wish to spend their time listening to the mesmerizing sounds of the jungle and enjyoy unique safari experience.
The rooms, including washrooms, are elegantly designed, well maintained, and decorated with aesthetically pleasing artifacts. Amazing food that fills your tummy as well as your heart.
However, what captured our hearts the most, was the warm, genuine welcome of the staff people, especially Divya, Vanya, Sujith, Ramu, and the others, everyone so passionate, professional and friendly. We felt hugged and petted as in our own family.
Overall a wonderful, unforgettable experience.
Looking forward to visiting again and staying longer

We stayed at Kaav for a night and must say it was one of our best experiences at Kabini. A special mention to Divya and Sujith who accommodated all our requests. Accolades to every staff member for their best service. The rooms and the food needs special mention too, can’t find any flaws, overall a great experience which made our special day memorable.

Amazing experience! Highly recommend to stay here to do a Kabini safari. Sujith is very genuine as a Naturalist which makes the safari experience really memorable. (every safari has a Naturalist Accompanying, who helps in spotting the animals)
Sujiths slideshow, where he runs through his snaps taken during his safaris, was amazing as well!

When I told them that it was my wife's birthday, they also arranged a super romantic rooftop dinner for us. Will definitely visit again:)

General tip for kabini: call and pick a good season to visit to increase chances of big cat sightings. We got a great leopard sighting, and a tiger glimpse, apart from some super rare birds.:)

Excellent property, Excellent and knowledgeable staff, Excellent service and Exotic food. Made our stay very memorable. I would recommend this place to everyone. I would strongly repeat this place. One of the best stays we have had. The rooms were great and the safaris were well organized. We were lucky to spot a tiger too. Another major highlight of the stay was the food. All 3 meals were simply great. The staff in kaav needs a special mention. All the way from booking to stay I had the best experience.

We were guests at Kaav this weekend and the experience was everything that we had envisioned and then some more! The place is a beacon of responsible luxury run by people who respect the law of the jungle. The staff works efficiently behind the scene, the food is exemplary, rooms well appointed and comfortable, nothing is intrusive, everything blends with nature. Divya is attentive towards everyone and keeps the cogs running smoothly, Sujith is an ocean of information on every living thing in the jungle and was the perfect naturalist.
Superbly seemless safaris, one by boat and the other by jeep. Did I mention the tigress we spent an hour with? The leopard with her two subadult cubs? Goosebumps!

Please give basic facilities to Yellow Board Taxi drivers for freshen up & food facilities as complimentary or on payable basis with nominalcharges. If u r not allowing Taxi's inside the campus or drivers. Next time onwards will not recommend or suggest our guests. Please its request form Blr Taxi Association.

Kaav gives you the feeling of being at home. The warmth and the hospitality is of a different level altogether. The USP of this place is that it is a boutique resort, Service is personalised. The rooms are aesthically done, earthy in style. The food is outstanding and service is impeccable. It is a perfect jungle getaway and the time spent here is worth it

I loved the idea of keeping a separate "Staff Welfare" Box for tipping. No one received the tips directly instead they just asked us to drop them in the box which all the Staff would share later.

Located next to Forest Reserve border. Parking space is available and room service is good. You will feel home food was excellent. Two safari was arranged one at 2.45 PM to 7PM and next day Morning from 5: 45 am to 10AM (need to select jeep or boat safari).
Special thanks to all staff, Divya and Vishnu. Both of them are amazing! Had a great time in KAAV Safari Lodge and was lucky to see one tiger Happy to see guides enjoying nature and taking us with them to give different experience.

The best place to stay when visiting the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve. Attentive staff, great service and beautiful lodgings including high end outside tents

Loved it. There is a naturist living there and he took and places and gave us a detailed class on bugs and animals. Just perfect.

The place might be great, however I’m thankful that we did not book this place. We are regulars at kabini and have been to several resorts like serai, bison, water woods. I was planning to book Kaav this time, but glad we realised their bad service before booking. My husband was trying hard to get information from Aarti, the staff who kept receiving our call at the reception desk, who was extremely rude. Her tone was high and she clearly did not know how to speak to customers. She hung up twice on my husband and did not even wait till my husband completed his question. While I called and asked her a few questions about getting a jeep for safari, her tone remained high and post that the conversation was very rude. She hung up on me without telling me her name and while I called back twice, she did not receive my call. Post that she called me back and had the audacity to tell me to complaint about her to her higher ups. I tried reaching their manager and got no response from there as well. The worst experience I’ve encountered during booking.

Stay was very comfortable and room was very good.staff was very nice and even particular about small small things. They took care of everything from waking up early in morning to arranging logistics for safari. Chef was very nice and even flexible to customize menu as per our requirement. There hospspitality is top notch. I highly recommend this resort for vacation.

Called up to just make an enquiry and the receptionist was not responsive and was irritated very easily for enquiring about boat safari.

Stay at Kaav safari lodge Kabini was a great experience, especially for us visiting Kabini first time. The cozy, comfortable rooms with a view was backed by excellent, friendly staff attending to every need with a smile. The food was sumptuous and tasty always with good variety. Sujith at Kaav was incredible with his deep knowledge of the flora and fauna, ready to share interesting stories and anecdotes about every species he helped us see. The safaris were superb with JLR guides Deepak and Rajesh helping us spot everything from Sambars, monitor lizard, langurs, wild dogs, peacocks, wild fowls, herd of Gaurs, kingfishers, owl, hawk and serpent eagles etc to the elusive leapord … and finally the big cat! All in all a enriching and delightful experience, we’re blessed to have Tiger Ramesh and Sujith for company on the safari. Not to forget the boat ride previous evening, boatman Krishnan was v enthusiastic, helped us sight so many birds, Tusker, deer, other animals at the waterfront…Wildtrails- Manju and Geeta - did a great job of guiding us, recommending stay and itinerary, logistics etc.thanks a ton. Must go back again

Quaint small safari lodge in between lush green forest.they have 6 rooms to stay out of which 2 are luxury tents and hence it is more like a homestay experience. The stay was excellent. We enjoyed the Small Walk and the presentation hosted by Sujit. The entire staff was courteous including the 2 Furry friends who were complete stress busters.

Great place to get away from the hussle city, great location wonderful food amazing people don't miss a chance to catch Sujit for the Tiny Safaris.
Even if not on a safari the camp provide alot more to do. Had a great time with my group.

Kaav safari lodge - great find! The property, ambiance, food, comfort, hospitality everything was just top-notch. The resort gives you a nice 'stay in the wild' kind of experience which was just brilliant. It's a small property but just too beautiful. We stayed at the Luxury tent which was soooo good, well maintained, and gave us a nice experience. And I have to mention about the hosts, their warm welcome makes you feel at home. Special mention to Divya (manager) and Sujith (naturalist). Divya is super sweet, she made our stay nice and comfortable. Sujith made our safaris really nice, he is so knowledgeable that, brainstorming with him about nature and wildlife is so nice and refreshing. He also takes you on a nature walk, which is really nice. The resort has a DECK, that place gives you a breathtaking view ️ I would highly recommend this place for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. It was an amazing experience on the whole with such nice hosts (Sujith and Divya)

Amazing place. Great food and very friendly and helpful staff. Divya, the manager there is nice and easy to talk to and very pleasant, just like the rest of the staff. It's a small and cozy place away from the bustle. The safari in kabini is a must do.

Located right next to the safari gate of JLR, Kaav offers a tranquil stay experience in the nature and has excellent food to make your stay extra special. Built with sustainable materials and retaining the old world charm of a resident jungle lodge, Kaav is the epitome of luxury in the jungles and the curated tiny safari, well informed naturalists to accompany you on safaris and warm hospitality makes this place standout in the array of resorts in the region.

One of the most amazing stays in Kabini, highly recommend you staying there. We have our lovely friend Divya Danielle Pant managing the whole resort like a breeze, just like the breeze of the ambience around Kaav. I thoroughly enjoyed each of the delicacies given to us by the master chefs there. Hats off to the kitchen staff to deliver excellent quality and hygiene, that too in the dense forests of Nagarhole Nationsl Park.

If you are a nature lover like me then I highly suggest you book a room in advance for your perfect getaway. It’s usually fully booked at most times. And if you love getting a great service and hospitality then go here. Rest all will follow.you will see such insane birds at the property it’s amazing to just sit and watch them flyby. You can go kayaking and walk by the riverside. Find interesting creatures imbibed everywhere.

Overall I highly recommend Kaav for the best safari and stay experience. Kudos to everyone who works there.

Lovely boutique property right next to the jungle, great place for a family/friends get together. It has 4 rooms and 2 tent cottages. Great food, very relaxing place. Check out the pics. Jungle safaris in tie up with Jungle Lodges and Resorts, which is next door. Early morning bicycling to the Cauvery river passing thru villages is refreshing!

This is a very bad place to stay.
The property is not maintained properly,
There are loud sounds in the night, coming for acs/refrigerators/ unknown equipments, it spoils the sleep, while I complaint to manager, first she denied that there is any such issue, later when is made videos of the issue, they told that ok there is noise issue but nothing can be done now.
There are insects and lizards in the rooms.
Manger is really rude and lazy.
They are polluting the ecosystem in and around.
I do not recommend this place for a enjoyable stay.

I love this property. Very classy, very neat and tidy, very good food, very nice tent house. Everything is just awesome. Tent rooms are awesome with bathtub in the middle of the room. They had iternary of what all can be done by staying this place. They have huge telescope, binoculars for night gazing. Food was awesome. They had bicycles to visit around. They even arrange wildlife safari. They have hv their small property at river end too where they arrange candle light dinners beside review on full moon day which I am waiting to try there next time.
They even arranged candle light dinner for us and a cake for my husband's bday. Overall great service, great place.

We stayed in Kaav for 3 nights and it was fantastic. The property is small with just 6 rooms in total (2 tents and 4 rooms) which we personally liked. The service was great- it was my husband’s birthday as well and the chef himself baked a cake for him. All our meals were excellent- great variety and really tasty. They arrange for safaris (land and boat), coracle ride, and a spider walk (within the property). For those who like furry friends for company, they have the cutest labs who are really friendly and playful. There’s also a lovely deck on the 2nd floor where one can spend hours just lazing/reading/napping.

I can’t wait to return to Kaav and spend some more time here. Definitely a very memorable trip!

The people at KAAV made our stay very special. The kindness and consideration offered was far greater than our expectations. Staff were continuously providing assistance with anything they could think of, luggage handling, safari guidance, knowledge of the area, laundry service, etc. They provided us with binoculars, water bottles and blankets for our safari trips, without being asked. The manager PK made us feel like welcomed family and our naturalist Venky (Venkatesh) not only offered knowledge of the animals but also shared conversations with us like we were old friends. As examples, Venky offered to go with us for a walk through the village during our late morning down time. Along the way he pointed out all the crops and what they are used for, as well as the names of the birds we saw or heard the calls of. We came across a home with a scrolled design drawn on the ground at the front gate and Venky spoke with the homeowner about it on our behalf, and, after not being able to answer one of our questions about its traditional significance, followed back up with us the next day to report his findings. Along our walk, we were met by PK, the resort manager, who had come to collect us so that we could enjoy lunch prior to our next safari, bringing with him some fresh slices of watermelon with garnish of lime and coriander spice for us to enjoy on our ride back to the lodge. On our last morning we were talking with Venky and another guest about the Meeme tree and our server walked out to the grounds and brought back to us a bouquet of Meeme tree branches so that we could taste the leaf. Examples of outstanding service such as this was extended throughout our stay and was more memorable to us than the wonderful safari or the beautifully and uniquely designed resort. The resort itself couldn't have been more pleasant. It is quite small with only 6 rooms of which 2 are luxury tents. The landscaping was beautifully and thoughtfully planned and well manicured. The buildings and tents are architecturally designed with unique features, expertly constructed, nicely maintained and perfectly clean. The location along the edge of the nature reserve is superb. Overall we couldn't have asked for a more pleasant stay.

Katerina our chef made spectacular dishes ranging from the indian traditional to dietary restricted and was more than happy to give us extra dessert or keep some of our favorites available as a snack later.

If you are looking for personalized service in a small and intimate camp close to the park this is certainly your place.

After a thorough search we decided to go to Kaav safari lodge at Kabini. And we are glad we made that choice. They have just 6 rooms, but we personally felt that, that is their USP and not their shortcoming. They give a personal attention to eachnof their guests and every person in their staff is courteous and polite and well informed. They gave us good advices on what activities to do like the cycling and kayaking which we enjoyed a lot, and which safari is better at what times. Pavithra kumar, their manager was very helpful and courteos. So was Ashwin whonis very knowledgeable and gave us loads of information at the safari. The food is simply delicious and very extensive and they leave no stone unturned to make our stay memorable. We stayed at the luxury tent and it was an awesome experience. We are very happy from our stay at Kaav and will definitely visit them again. Keep up the good job guys.

This place is really awsome. We booked a luxury tent for one night and experience is just awsome. Hostipitality is amazing. Here check in is at 1 pm which made me little worried as I was arriving at resort around 10 am. The management welcomed us very warmly and asked us tom have breakfast. Breakfast was very tasty and healthy and after breakfast at 11 am only manager (PK) gave us our tent for the night. Another experience was. In evening we asked them tea.the staff bought some pkodhas also with tea and we was so happy seeing tea and pkodhas together because it was raining

KAAV has luxury tents and superior rooms for stay. KAAV can accommodate 16 people all together. They provide full board meals excluding snacks but if you will be lucky they you can also get pkodhas along with your tea
