Delicious Brahmin style food. Sweet Pongal and Pongal are the must try dishes. Thatte Idly and Masala Dose tastes awesome. Rates are reasonable and the ambience is kinda old style. If you are travelling via the Bengaluru - Mysuru expressway and prefer a Brahmin style vegetarian food, this place is worth a try.
Priced at a nominal rate, this place is a perfect stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you are a fan of the very authentic south Indian puliogre and Pongal, this is THE place for you.
We have visited this place several times earlier. But this time we found the quality of dishes not upto the the expected level. It is one of the preferred eatery on Mysore road.
Taste has changed compared to before. Vada is smaller and less crispy. Uppittu doesn't taste as before. Puliyogare had too much salt and dry. Sweet pongal was good.
This used to be our go to restaurant on way to Mysuru. Now, need to look elsewhere.
The sweet Pongal and the kaarapongal with the gojju are super tasty. We don't miss this place for a good treat when coming to Mysore from Bangalore. A must visit place. .
U will get everything but for very high price and there are no nearby places to eat other than that so they would be taking a little high price on the dishes served. But regardless of money paid the place is good.
Horrible food my family stopped here for a. Break fast monday morning man food was not taste at all and overpriced imagine masala dosa 130 rupees, 2idli 70 rupees haha
Restaurant on Bengaluru - Mysuru Rd. During Highway Widening Large Parking Area reduced. Limited Menu, Upkeep not great like earlier Years / Vivekanand
This is one of the best places for a meal on Bangalore Mysore highway. There are limited options like puliogre, chapathi, pongal, curd rice - but everything tastes very well. The pricing is decent at about 150 per person. The ambience is like a normal hotel and not flashy. Stop by if you care about taste than looks
This is an amazing place limited menu Iyengar Puliyodharai Sakkara Pongal dosa idli vada Upma and curd rice that it but they are so good and authentic that we have actually done 70 km trips just to eat the poliyodrai and Sakkara Pongal
It's a small restaurant on the service road. You'd probably pass it before noticing it. Not easily accessible, but easy to miss. Food is okay. We had idly and vada. Vada was nice and crispy, but sambar was bland and chutney quite spicy. I'd probably not go there again.
A decent place in the Bangalore Mysore highway for a quick breakfast. They serve some authentic Brahmin cuisine, nice place to consider when you're traveling with elders in your family
Visited thinking this is Kadamba (authentic iyengar cuisine restaurant) but this is new Kadamba.nevertheless restaurant is ordinary mean no flashy set up just plain and simple.we had idlies in the morning and sambar was totally different and yummy.taste lingered for long time on the taste buds. Some unique flavor it had.chutney was also good.price was also very reasonable considering what his neighbours charge. It cost ₹30 for 2 idlies.
Food was ok not bad or good either, I was ordered idly, Masala dosa and Pongal among those masala dosa was good and it’s too oily, But Pongal was awful it’s very spicy I noticed that they added 1/4th quantity of chillies and overall I feel it’s not as good as hotel look outside.
This is a nice place for a quick break on the way to Mysore. They serve amazing puliyogare and pongal in a traditional way. It's a delight to enjoy the Savory. I would say it's a must visit.
Pongal is very special and lovely. Idlis are soft and Sambar will make a good combo. Tamarind juice is served along with Pongal which makes an outstanding taste. If you want spicy, please have Chilli cooked with Pongal. It will definitely make a good taste for spicy food lovers. Dosa is crispy and tasty
Food is good for breakfast pricing is on lower side. Overall hygiene is not good. Toilets are not clean at all and has squat pots only, no commodes. Ample parking space.
I just love this place. Good food, excellent service.
Two tiny issues that's spoiling the visits to this place is: 1) there is a person sitting in front of this eatery who upon seeing any customer coming out of the restaurant makes a eerie kind of sound attempting to draw their attention to give him some alms.
I have nothing against any body begging or somebody wanting to spare some money, it's the crazy sound he makes that gets on your nerves.
He is quite all the while, only on seeing someone coming out, he emits this sound.
Sorry, it is not something I would enjoy, sitting eating and keep hearing this person making this noise.
2) there is one elderly person who clears the plates and cleans the table, well, he is really bothersome.
He does an act of being overwhelmingly courteous that becomes very irritating.
I would suggest the hotel authorities to keep this gentleman away till the customer leaves the table would be ideal.
Please these are my observation. I have nothing personal against these two gentlemen.
Else, it's an awesome place. The staff serving at this eatery are just amazingly at their best always.
Pongal is very special and a must try food here. It's typical Iyengar style. Masala dosa is very crispy and tasty. Sambar is very good and the Same with Chutney. Idlis are very soft and Tamarind extract is served with Pongal which gives a special taste along with Chutney
Delicious Sweet Pongal, Awesome signature dish of Kadambam on Mysore highway. Located on the highway, after Chenapatna. Several other dishes available with great taste and hygiene.
First time on that highway. I highly recommend this restaurant to all. Fast service. Nice food. Great tea and coffee. But they should improve there washroom cleanliness.
Good place to have breakfast and lunch in the middle of journey. The service is good.food is tasty and of OK quality. The basic south Indian meals are served here.idli and Vada is good. Prices are OK.
Food at this place is rather tasteless and most of the dishes that was ordered turned out to be cold. Also the place is not too clean, the wash area and toilets were very dirty.
This is a pure vegetarian udupi style restaurant. Only the style is udupi but no taste at all. Went on a friend's request but it couldn't match our expectations. Tried masala dosa, idli, pongal etc but not a single items was good. This is the feedback from my south Indian friends. You can go if u really need a break else there is another restaurant which is just 5 mins away from there.
It is a good restaurant serving variety of foods especially for people travelling between Bangalore and Mysore. It is an ideal point to break the journey. Service is good. Toilets are cleanly maintained. Ample free parking space is available.
A correction first: It's KADAMBA HOTEL and not KADAMBAM.
There used to be a good amount of trees to park under & now every single tree has been cut down due to widening the road. There's a small toy shop infront of where I've parked that building & few others shal be demolished soon due to the road plan. Kadamba hotel will remain though.
One of the best South Indian restaurant on the way to Ooty from Bangalore. The idli there were so large that one would be enough for one and the sambhar tasted awesome.
One of the best breakfast joints in and around Bangalore City. Make for a perfect breakfast destination for a long drive/ ride. Limited searing area but the super fast service ensures the waiting is not much.
Food- 5/5. Everything from Pongal and Puliogare to Idli and Coffee was just perfect! Quantity is ample for one and the food is very affordable.
Ambience- 3/5. Nothing special to speak of. Could be maintained much better especially the washroom and hand wash area.
Staff- 3/5. Service is super fast! Staff are always around to take the order and clear the used plates.
Must have- Idli Vada, Puliogare, Pongal and Coffee!
