Kairali Restaurant

Loved their fish biriyani. King fish was used for the biriyani. They didnt add the gravy of some other meat unlike others restaurants where they add the prepared gravy of chicken or mutton to the fish. It was good.

Edit: they added chicken gravy to prawn biriiyani. I didnt expect that to come from this place. I got a small piece of chicken from prawn biriyani which was awful.

Don't take food. Food is bad, service is bad. Totally sad. Alfam doesn't remind me of my gold.

Reason might be it was out side Kerala.

I suggest this hotel for all Keralites, Pretty good food served here compared to other Kerala Hotel. Names been bit confusing because there's lot of Kairali hotel, Kairali bhavan in the surrounding itself. This one's situated under 'Hotel Malabar'. Service was very bad. I've only tried the Veg & Milk Shakes. Don't know much about their Non-Veg.

Hotel with food of average qulaity. Near to Mangaluru Railway station. Kerala food is available.

The basmati rice chicken biryani was very delicious. The meals are very reasonably priced and tastes nice. Service was great. Overall a nice place for some kerala style lunch.

On my way back before boarding the train from Mangalore Central railway station had my lunch at this restaurant. This place is located at a walkable distance from the railway station.
Food quality is very less, one of the worst biriyani I had in ma lyf.

Nice Food Nice experience

Tried all the well known restaurants in town over 3 days. Have to admit, nothing quite matches the taste of their food.

Kerala food options in plenty. I ordered puttu and kadla curry in the basement restaurant. Quite good. The puttu is served as a set of 3, with a layer of coconut separating the puttus. When you order one puttu, you get billed 10*3 because of the 3 combined Puttus which they serve at once.

For a North Indian like I, this was new.

The tea was great.

Overall this place is good for traditional breakfast even at 9am.

Puttu cost: 10*3= Rs. 30/-
Kadla curry: Rs. 30/-
Tea: Rs. 15/-

Nice food. Worth the amount. Staff expecting tips is one issue. They won't allow you to pay the bill directly at counter

I would prefer this hotel for parcels and home delivery. Didn't like the non-AC ambience much, but, A/c room is better.

I was new to Mangalore and was definitely not liking the taste of Konkani food. After horrible experiences of breakfast and lunch, Kairali Restaurant was a huge relaxation. The restaurant offers variety of food stuff that has the potential to satiate those taste buds craving for delicious Kerala style food.
This restaurant was pure love.

Mutton Biryani wasn't good. Mutton was not tender. Rice did not have adequate flavour. Suggest other places.

A very hygienic restaurant. The price is also affordable. The staffs are also amicable. The food is also delicious. Overall a good family restaurant.

Only name is Kairali, menu is 95% north indian,
Also service is very poor, Food is just kept on the table and not served.
We need to wait for the waiter to take our order (makes me wonder who is actually waiting on whome).
The waiter did not know any of the local language (kannada, tulu, or malayalam being a kairali restraunt situtated in mangalore). He knew only hindi and some broken english (though i am not against north indians working here)

Food taste was i can say 3.5stars.

Kerala dry biriyani served was very bad. We ordered 4plates. But this was the worst biriyani i ever had. Very sorry for posting this. Kindly give a better service.

The food is almost perfect. You won't get such quality Kerala food anywhere else in Mangalore. I tried their fish fry and meals, which was above my expectation. Though the charge maybe a bit high, there is still no compromise on the taste.

Food is pretty decent and the meals are cheap. The place kind of gets overcrowded in the afternoon. Nothing fancy about the place and poor ambience.

The food is okay not bad.but the cost is really bad.single coffee cost 20 where as it's not that good too. And even the cost of curry and tiffin items

Food is good and neatly served. Seafood dishes are a bit expensive. Since this one is in MANGALORE I except the sea good to be a little cheaper

Good ambience and the staffs are well mannered. But they take long time to serve you after you placed the order. We thought they might be preparing fresh and hot but it wasn't hot. Price is also reasonable. Kerala Chicken Biryani was really bad. It was nothing like actual Kerala CB, but fried rice and kabab was really good. Afternoon is their peak hours and you can also get meals here. There is also another Kairali restaurant near by which is super crowded and the meals will be over soon.

Food was good, but the staff was very unattentive. They gave me the bill before I even finished eating, so it would've felt very strange to order dessert.

Kerala chicken biryani is a must try. It’s just delicious and fresh juice available as well.
The problem here is. The price is not worthy they are very overpriced. And they keep increasing the prices every 6 months or so which is really disappointing.

I ordered a biriyani, and tbh it looked like Upma! And it didn't taste good obviously. I had from here last month too, and back then I had an American Chopsuey. It wasn't good too. I would survive on a packet of chips rather than eating from here.
