Falls is easily accessible by foot, but people have polluted it by dumping garbage and because of the temple goers one of the most beautiful falls has lost its beauty

Too crowded, but a nice place to visit, chose a working day, less traffic and less people relatively

Must visit place in chikmanglore. Adviced not to visit during heavy rainfall. Having powerful veerabhadreahwar temple

I visited this unique waterfall where you can walk freely without fear and enjoy a refreshing water massage. Beyond the waterfall, there's a temple. While the easy accessibility is a plus, it can be a bit unusual because some people use this spot as a bathing area, making it feel less pristine. The place itself isn't very well-maintained, but you can reach it by car, which adds to its convenience.

There is ample car parking here. You can also have a bath in the small waterfall.

The place is good but only visit on weekdays, weekends are bad as there will be many people who will be taking baths and it’s not worthy to go there

Don't go to up very long there might be risk. The rocks are very slippery my friend feel down while taking pictures on the top of the rock.

A major and famous falls in chikkamagaluru.it has veerabhadreshwara temple where water flows with high intensity. The beauty of falls attracts travellers the most. Good place for family trip also.

Temple is located within this falls, this fall is sacred and divine. You can climb up and see the magical fall from the upside. You can take blessings from the temple too.
There are many monkeys within this temple and waterfall area so beware of them.

The place is very nice the thing is you have to be careful starting area is very slippery be careful and you have to look after your stuff's

Kalathgiri Falls are sited near Kemmanagundi, which is 55 km north of Chikmagalur, a naturally blessed district that is the main attraction in Karnataka. The place is such a beautiful location and natures wonder but because of people the place is getting wasted as people apply shampoo and wash their hair, also saw clothes washing soap also near some falls.

Decent waterfall, normally crowded over weekends. There is Veerabhadra temple near by. Lot of monkeys arround - be careful if you are climbing the landscape behind waterfall. It is beautiful and peaceful destination

The Kallathigiri falls has a temple, the stupid devotees in the name of tradition, customs take bath in the falls and throw all their clothe in into the water and wear other cloths.

Kallathigiri, kemmannugundi, Shanthi falls are the best family picnic spots of Chikkamagaluru. Youngsters can explore Z point hill. Many resorts and hotels are there but Poor in quality.
Enjoy the beauty of places, don't ruin by taking bath etc,

Negatives:
Visitors please stop littering the place.
Some parts upstream are filled with plastic bottles, cigarette packets and beer bottles and clothes.

I hope authorities take notice of this and put in measures to prevent this.

The place was so dirty when we visited with our family.someone needs to look into this as this is a famous tourist place

Kalhatti Falls  (ಕನ್ನಡ : ಕಲ್ಹತ್ತಿ ಜಲಪಾತ) or Kalahasti Falls is located at Tarikere taluk (kallathigiri) in Chikmagalur district of Karnataka,  India. The waterfall is 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) away from Kemmangundi hill station.

A beautiful place to visit.
But this place is really spoiled by people. Most people were cleaning utensils, most of them taking bath with soap, making this place really dirty. I could find all kind of dirt in the waterfall. Water not drinkable, cannot be used for dipping.
The temple is beautiful.
This place needs improvement. Should be cleaned and people should not be allowed to take bath.

This is a siva temple which is located under a cave like atmosphere. We have to cross a waterfall to enter into the temple. Lord Brehma, vishnu, siva statue are constructed in between the falls

Kalhatti Giri Falls (Kalahasti Falls) is in Chikmagalur district at Kallathipura in Karnataka.   The waterfall is in an elegant location and is a beautiful cascading waterfall amidst the luscious greenery. The waterfall from the Chandra Drona hills around 122 meters’ height above.
The fall is in the front of Veerabhadreshwara temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Kemmangundi hill station is around 10km from the waterfall. The waterfall is surrounded by captivating valleys and gardens, which is indeed a visual treat to visitors.
Kalhatti Giri Falls – The Spiritual Connection

It is believed that Saint Agastya did pray here for a long time. The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Veerabhadreshwara temple was supposed to be built during the Vijayanagara times.

The temple contains three stone carvings of elephants at the entrance which depicts the Vijayanagara architecture. The cascading waterfall falls over these three elephants always. The people believe that the water is sacred and can cure many diseases.

Lord Veerabhadrashwara temple celebrates the annual fair every March-April which is visited by many pilgrims and lasts for three days.

ಕುಡುಕ ಬಡ್ಡಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಾವು ಕುಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಗಾಜಿನ ಬಾಟಲಿ ಗಳನ್ನು ಜಲಪಾತ ದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹತ್ತುವ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಡೆದು ಬಿಸಾಕಿ ಎಲ್ಲೆಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಜಿನ ಚೂರುಗಳು ಇವೆ. ಚಪ್ಪಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬರಿಗಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತಿದರೆ ಕಾಲಿಗೆ ಗಂಭೀರ ರೀತಿಯ ಗಾಯಗಳಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ. Be careful friends

A small waterfall and a small temple. Kids can enjoy and play. For better experience you need to climb up a little. It's bit difficult, not recommend for elderly ppl. People have spoiled this place by littering. Very dirty place, but waterfall is good.

This place 50+ kms far from Chikkamangalur town, it's not worth of driving this far and visiting this place. Nothing is here for those who live in rural area. May be urban people like this place. From my experience, it's not worth of driving this far. Also we need to pay 50rs as entry fee per car to get into this.

Waterfall is beautiful, but tourists are irresponsible.they must respect mother nature.they have left their dirty cloths here and there. Because of few stupid people we all suffer and say that place is very dirty.

The falls would be beautiful if there was more water, however there wasn't much water, making it quite unimpressive. We even went during the Monsoon season, so there should be more water. All in all, it was ok.

It's a very small fall and people come here since that has small temple nearby, but the falls and the views are not that great.water just flows and falls from very short distance and can bath there.

My first visit to Kallathgiri falls was five years ago, when the water levels were higher and the place was well maintained. The place is an auspicious pilgrimage for some and thus, on certain occassions, you can see a lot of pilgrims at the temple. On other days, the place can be seen filled with tourists who play around in the small waterfall. Moreover, the drive to Kallathgiri is the one that you should not miss. The narrow roads, through dense woods at such high altitudes surely whisks your mind off all the miseries.

Not that big falls but we visited the temple and the ritual during some festival. Which is saw for the fist time.

A holy place but very badly maintained. People have ruined the beauty of this place. Full of garbage everywhere. Going here is a waste of time, energy and money.

It's a kind of devotee place, falls is not much great and if you want to enj or relax in falls, then this is not a advisable one.

It's good when you go up to the falls.but the temple surroundings are not kept clean. Tourists have to make sure not to throw plastic everywhere

Kalhatti Falls or Kalahasti Falls is located at Tarikere taluk (kallathigiri) in Chikmagalur district of Karnataka, India. The waterfall is 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) away from Kemmangundi hill station. It offers an excellent view of the cascading water from the Chandra Drona Hill from 122 meters (400 ft) above in front of the Veerabhadreshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Nice place. It's a temple and falls also. The devotees will take bath in the falls and will visit the temple. The people who want to enjoy in the falls they will go up the hill there is a falls and can enjoy their with water.

Moreover a devotional place than falls. U need to climb a little above to experience more. The lower part of the falls is not tidy.

This is smaller falls but nice to visit here. If you walk upside for around 20 minutes there is water sliding spot you can enjoy

Pros:

1) Lovely Place to play around with complete nature.
2) Visit in between July to September

Cons:

1) Not safe only if you go as couple's (enjoy as group)
2) Not clean - most of the tourist leaves their cloths after bath.
3) will not get hygienic food or clean hotels surrounding

I might have rated it better in the monsoon season probably, but currently (March to May) the "falls" has lesser water in them than the normal urination of people. To make matters worse, the water stagnates and all the debris of the adjoining "temple" floats around in this muck. If you want to be disgusted further, you can look around to find people taking baths (with soap and shampoo) and washing their clothes in this water.

People just spoiled this place polluting the whole area. If you are not a Hindu devotee, then skip this place from your bucket list.

Should be avoided. Temple is next to it. Overall dirty place, no maintance at all. For most of the year, it is dry

Its not a fall as such. Just a temple and little water but you wont get a good view of water falling from a height. Its approach road is scenic. Visit only if you have extra time to kill. Not worth going if u r expecting visual pleasure.

Falls has religious significance. Just be alert of Monkeys and slippery stones. If you are a adventure lover don't miss it.

If planning to visit in rainy season then be careful while going up the temple to play in the waterfalls.
It's too muddy during winter and rainy season which makes it slippery to walk.
