Sowmya has a very structured and stepwise approach to learning spoken Kannada. Within 4 weeks, I was able to make short sentences as well as fully understand conversational Kannada. Sowmya is also very accommodative and adjusts around work schedules. One needs to practice regularly to learn any new language and Sowmya is great at motivating students to do that.

We were introduced to the crash course being conducted by Ms Sowmya, our Kannada Teacher, by our son. Initially we were apprehensive about our ability to grasp Kannada not only because of our old age, but also because we had no previous exposure. But, fortunately for us, the teacher turned out to be quite understanding having much patience and perseverance to expose us to the unknown language within a short span. Her interactions were very helpful to shed our inhibitions to speak out. Being under the same roof, we both could discuss the lessons among ourselves as if we were in a classroom with other students. This helped us to use the language without the fear of being wrong. After a couple of classes, we've learned how to interact with maid, auto/taxi man, shopkeeper, hospital staff, bus conductor, tour operator etc apart from dealing in any emergency situations. Both of us are thankful to our teacher for equipping us to deal with all possible situations in Kannada. We would highly recommend Ms Sowmya to those who want to learn Kannada from scratch, that too within a short period. We wish her good luck in her venture too.

What an amazing teacher she is.

Give attention to all students, understands where exactly students are struggling, focus on those weakness. Make student more practice in the area where they are weak.

Her unique style of teaching so cool. You don't forget what she taught. She asked me speak some famous hindi and English movie dialog in kannada.

She the give some kannada TV ads and asks them to translate in hindi or English.

Sometime she will some become fruit/vegetables vendor or sometime traffic police and some delivery boy boy wo is refusing to take the return item. Sometime a Stanger on the road who is trying to help you with direction and Some time arrogant non cooperative Sarkari babu.

Your teaching style is so unique Sowmya. I don't think anyone else in Karnataka teaches with so unconventional methods like yours.

The teaching materials that you gave us is so helpful. I have scanned it and have the PDF always handy with me.

At sometime chikka sir (skanda her son) also takes our interview to see how are we doing and corrects.
