Kotekad Plantation Stay

Price is reasonable. Caretaker is not helpful. In house food is not that great don't go for it. If you're only looking for a stay with a reasonable price then go for it.

I stayed here for 1 night with my extended family. We loved the place, the stay, food and the hospitality. Rooms are spacious with king size bed and extra bed. Clean and big bathrooms with WC. 2 big dining table with chairs in the front. Ample parking available for 3 to 4 cars. UPS and generators are there in case of power cuts.

This is an amazing stay option right on the Mekeri main road. This place offers a great experience of staying inside the plantation and at the same time situated right on the road side. You can go exploring the plantations and enjoy the stream that flows nearby.

Also there is a cute ginger cat that comes looking for the leftovers if you keep it out.

The place is maintained with neat hygiene and it also has a common camp fire where you can enjoy the cold nights.

Overall a great place to stay and don't miss out.

Mr vinod who was caretaker is very RUDE. Don't except respect and any help.
We reached at 7pm evening, we couldn't identify property in dark night. Some direction could have placed on road.
When we reached two persons were there but no one tried to come to us and ask.
We went to vinod's room asked ourselves.
He just sits inside his room and won't come out unless you ask for some water or tea.
We booked all 4 rooms for 2 days but He never shown our rooms and guided.
But honestly first floor 2rooms are very good, ground floor rooms are ok but something was smelly.
He never mentioned campfire is chargeable, and billed on final day.
We ordered Idly, they charged Rs70 per plate. Taste is good of course.
Dinner order is homely chicken drumsticks and dal rice etc.food not bad.

We stayed at Kotekad Plantation Stay for 3 days and our overall experience was amazing! The best part is the surroundings - coconut, paddy, coffee plantations along with a small brook flowing bang opposite the property.

The rooms are spacious and clean with a common sit out where you can enjoy with your group (+ 2 stray cats)

Ps. Traveling to the city will be easy if you have your own private vahicle (unless you enjoy hitchhiking)

A most comfortable home stay in madikeri. Host Mr.ponnana was very helpful and you should not miss the home made food (Chicken gravy with roti). Worth the money paid and recommended for group /family stay. Better to travel with your own vehicle to get access to madikeri town which is around 5km from the stay.

Comments for improvement: Basic needs like drinks water and room usage kit and to be arranged (bought water bottles) and also power backup

The property is good, spacious rooms but there are no basic facilities -
1.no water in the washrooms and toilets even with the water present in the overhead tank.
2. There is no power backup facilities, so because of rains if there are power cuts for days together then you end up having no power and sitting amongst lot of mosquitos and insects.
3. No facility for drinking water, if you are staying for a couple of days make sure you bring your own water.
4. They say food is available if we pay for it, but even if we are ready to pay the quantity is very very less. We were 13 of us and we ordered food from the kitchen in the stay for all of us, they gave one medium bowl of rice, 10-12 chapathis and small quantity of veg gravy for chapathi. Inspite of telling them about the quantity, the next day they gave 10-12 small puris and a sabji.
Restaurants are very far atleast 5-6km-15/20 min away. So it's not very easy to get food all of a sudden.
5. The owner/ care taker was least bothered about addressing all these basic issues of electricity, water and food. He was very arrogant and irresponsible who didn't bother about guests, because of all these issues we cut short our 4 days trip to 2 days.

Overall it was a very bad experience. One star is only for the property and how can anyone enjoy the stay at the property of there is no electricity or water for basic things.

Very bad experience. The host is very arrogant and not at all bothered about the guests. Basic necessities such as electricity and water also was not provided at the property. And when we told the host about it he asked us to leave. We had to cut down our trip from 4 to 2 days. Don't recommend this place at all.

Had an awesome stay here! Amazing host who made all the arrangements for us, and amazing location in the valley with good view sunrise, sunset, Moon and stars, amazing staff and even the plantation is very well maintained with good diversity of crops, and a stream flowing through.

Good hospitality and services, Cool place to visit with family and friends. The rooms were clean and well maintained, There was stream flowing in their backyard which 5mins walk from the stay. Overall had a really good experience. Recommended places. Value for money.

We visited this place with our dogs. It was a pleasant stay. We also got to go to the stream within the property often. The estate walk was spectacular. I'd recommend this to anyone who's looking for a dog friendly vacation & to connect with nature.

It's situated just six k m from madikeri town and it is in between 55acres of coffee plantation and a river flows in between estate and food is excellent and caretaker took care of us very well

The stay is like home. Very good accommodation and food. The guy who is managing there is veru nice and guided us surrounding visiting places. Food facility also available with prior information. We are 200% satisfied with the stay in Kotekad Plantation Stay.

Place is surrounded by nature.rooms was very clean, big and service was also good and quick. Owner and reception people was very helpful they also provide breakfast which was very tasty. Place is same as they show in photos.

We were 4couples with 6children who visited the place recently visited. We were bowled over the hospitality we received from Ponnanna. Young man did everything to keep his customers happy. He was so accommodative and arranged every small requests we had. He managed it so well. Very down to earth person and having the smile on his face all the time. Probably the best homestay in Coorg. Very convenient and close to the Madikeri bus stop and many other tourist destinations. The host Ponnanna was very generous.
If you want to drink, this is probably the best place to do it in.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

This is a beautiful estate with coffee and betel nut trees. There's a fresh water stream flowing through the property which around 500 meters from the house. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The host Ponnanna was very kind and made sure we had fun while we were there. This place is less than 10 Kms from Madikeri town. Food and campfire is available at extra cost. Overall this place is a nature lover's delight!

Very pleasant stay. It's just 6kms from madikeri. Rooms were really clean and spacious. It's located amidst a plantation. You get to see a beautiful scenic. The manager Jitin gave us a good service. Breakfast was pretty good. Would definitely recommend this place.
