Lotus The Cottages

I am not sure if the Lotus Cottages deserve even one star rating. Gloomy ambience, basic services like water, coffee /tea one has to demand. Most of the electrical fitments to be attended to post check in. Kitchen services totally unhygienic and if used, one may fall sick. White uric acid from the lizard faeces all over with welcome spider webs in the rooms. Ask for face towel and you get foot mat to wipe your face. Multiple stakeholder to pass on the blame. A complete revamping required. The list is long.

Great location. Near to the city. It's a duplex house, one bed downstairs and one bed upstairs with separate washrooms. Parking space is also there. I was not happy with the service. There are 2 caretakers, one for day and one for night. But, I did not understand their purpose at all as when we entered there, there was no one to attend us. We literally have to open and close the gate by ourselves everytime even though caretaker is present, that's why I have given one star for the service. You will not get food there. But there is a kitchen with all utensils. Except the service, everything is good. I will recommend one to consider it.

Decent. Slightly pricey for one person, but family can stay in one cottage, no limit to # of pax. Rs 3000 per night. Food needs to be eaten out or ordered from outside-caretaker every helpful with this.

Worst experience ever, one of the person who is incharge of the stay is rude and doesn't stand by words which ruined entire day.

Good place to stay (Specially the Duplex ones) A family of 6 can stay happily. Food served is great and amazing hospitality.

The stay is really very nice and classy, they have a house help who takes care of all the needs. The owner is very sweet and humble and knows one's requirements.
The rooms are very clean, especially washroom is so vast amazing and hygiene ️ I'm glad we stayed at this place

We booked the home stay using MakeMyTrip for 4th of June 2022. However after the booking was done, homestay owners called us saying they are full and we will have to cancel the reservation. As the reservation was non refundable we reached out to the MakeMyTrip team for refund, till date we have not received the money back from homestay or MakeMyTrip. Highly Disappointing.

Cozy stay. No WiFi available but I was okay with that for a change. Airtel and Jio network is poor.

We just checked out from Duplex cottage Rose. We had problems with maintenance. If you switch on the Air conditioner water oozing out, water leaking from bath tap, if you open the toilet hand shower, water leaking from the hand shower without pressing it. Free breakfast is horrible. All made out of Rice flour only. Kadubu, idly and puttu. Bathroom glass door is not closing properly and always makes sound. Free tooth paste given was with PKD april 2019 with two years of expiry. Drinking water is not provided while check-in. Electrical plug in socket is horrible. We have to plug it with the help of a pen. You can see pen refill marks in all the sockets. For bathing in hot water, it will take more than 5 minutes for hot water to come as it is out if solar water heater. Our plan to go out was much delayed due to this in the morning. Pathetic stay.

Very nice spacious rooms and located in serene surrounding the caretakers were very helpful and served tasty food, liked the ambience worth the price

Positives: Nice cottages for groups of people. Food is pretty good and caretakers are also excellent. They are always helping in anything you need. The bathrooms are pretty large. The location is also pretty near to major attractions.
Cons: The property is not so well maintained. The toilets smell a bit and are not very clean. The towels were not so clean. The bed and blankets smelled as well. Parking is also tight so had to move car again and again if someone wanted to go. We also had a very large spider in our room.

Overall the place is value for money.

Good location, extremely polite and well behaved staffs, good food and wonderful rooms. 2 rooms, upstairs and downstairs, big washroom, all modern amenities. Nice stay.

A very gud place to stay. Place is well maintained. Fud was also very gud. And the cost for the place is very reasonable. I would like to highlight about the maintenance and cleanliness which they have maintained. It just felt me like my home.

A small property located around 3km from the town of Madikeri. The rooms are spacious. There are 3 twin bedroom properties in the location and has a generator for power backup. The caretakers of this place are very helpfully. The food is great and needs to be ordered a day in advance. The bathroom are clean and spacious as well. There is place for parking atmost 3 cars in the property. Ideal for stay with a 4-6 sized group.

Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Located 4 kms from Madikeri. To reach here from madikeri you need to follow Club Mahindra Resort sign boards.on road property. Value for money.

Good home stay style cottage with green surrounding. Would have given 5 star if food was not a problem. Same breakfast everyday Idli and Vada, Nothing else at all. No arrangement in kitchen. Even Maggi or Biscuits are not available. Nearest market is 2k.m. Away. Only suitable if you have own vehicle. Otherwise a very good property to enjoy, well maintained.

I had stayed there for a short break wish I could have stayed for longer. The place needles to say is beautiful. The cottage has gotten the perfect holiday and cozy vibe. It's not too hectic as the number of guests are limited. It's away from all the hustle of the city and one can enjoy the bliss of nature. The hosts are extremely gracious and welcoming. Their food is a must. They make it at home and is served with pure love. My dad is a diabetic and we couldn't really order anything off the menu so they had soecisp items prepared just for him. They've also got a beautiful hammock and swing in their out side garde. That let's you enjoy the starry night. Live this place I recommend this to anyone who plans to travel to cooerg.

Good place to stay. Cottage interior is satisfactory. Caretakers are helpful. However, the property is standalone with no extra amenities. Also, there is restriction regarding food availability. You have to inform 12 hours in advance if you want food. They also do not serve lunch normally. We had visited with parents and it was quite inconvenient for us to go out at night to find restaurants (they didn't provide dinner as we hadn't informed them by 10 am in the morning).

One of the best hospitalities you would find on Earth, along with well-maintained amenities. Loved Lotus.
