Magpie Speech Therapy

Our son had a speech delay so we chose Magpie to him. Initially when we joined Magpie he could hardly say few words but now it's been 4 months we have joined there and we could see a changes in his behaviour as well as his speech, atleast he is trying with sentences (3 words) now. All thanks to his therapist Reshmitha and namrata mam who always kept an eye on how the kids are getting better. Thank you.

I have been associated with Magpie since May 2023 for my son. We were allotted Sislia as our speech therapist. When we started, my son made few sounds and couldn't communicate much.
We had 2 sessions of therapy every week and 1 session of group therapy. Initially for the 2 months, I did not notice much change in him (in terms of speech), but the therapist insisted that, we are right now only giving him words and not expecting him to say words yet. Surprisingly, his communication (through gestures) improved and we were able to communicate to him.
Every 2 months Ms. Sislia gave us a progress report and showed various areas that he has improved.
Today (October) when I post this review, my son can say 3 word sentences and is able to communicate much better. His social skills have improved as a result of the group sessions that happen every week.
I have to thank Ms. Sislia for her incredible planning every session towards this improvement in my child and also teaching me every session what I can do with him throughout the week for his speedy recovery.

We visited Magpie for our son's speech delay. Namrata ma'am assessed and explained his issues really well. Offline slots were unavailable. Initially we were skeptical about the online sessions as our son struggled with sitting tolerance and he wasn't screen friendly in terms of learning. We are thankful to our speech therapist Shilpa Manjunath who has been extremely patient and conducts the sessions in fun manner. She makes the sessions engaging and now our son has improved a lot in the last 3 months. He sits through the sessions most days and is also concentrating. I'm so glad to have associated with Magpie.

My daughter had speech delay, at the age of 3.5 in 2021 we are consult Magpie Team, we took assessment and started sessions both individual and group sessions continuously one and half years, followed therapist tasks at home, my daughter vocabulary improved a lot, not only vocabulary, understanding also.kindly follow the therapist tasks at home
At the age of 4 she called AMMA, I felt over the moon
If kid having any other issues other than speech, therapist only recommend what other therapies need for kids

The best decision I have taken after graduation is to join as an intern at magpie. The initial 3 months were full of woww moments and challenges.observing seniors' therapy sessions changed my insight as a therapist. There were struggles & challenges in completing assignments, material making, task completion, report making, documentation, presentations etc. But that struggle made me who I am today. I joined magpie to learn and grow professionally. And it did help me to grow personally and professionally.

To the upcoming SLPs' out there, if you have a hunch that something is inadequate in the therapy u are/were providing during college days by observing seniors, learn it from the right people. It was my intuition of "something is inaccurate" that made me find the missing piece of the puzzle. Oh God! What would I have become if I didn't take the initiative to learn it from these people?

My journey with a child with developmental issues has been a difficult one. After doing my due diligence of checking with few parents and visiting centers personally, deciding to go with Magpie was a no brainer. I had to wait for few weeks before getting sessions, but definitely worth every bit. Their assessment is a class apart and very comprehensive. Ms. Namrata is very clear in her communication & helped me immensely both working with child as well as what lies ahead for me and my child. Rarely I have seen a therapist focus on the future needs of the child and what one needs to be prepared with. Though I have stopped taking sessions now as my child has progressed to next level, my association with the center remains as I said, its a journey. They are working on some very interesting group programs & school based curriculum for helping kids of older age groups that are focused on social skills & all round development. Something I have not seen anywhere else. Good luck to them and special thanks to Ms. Namrata.

The trainer s involvement with the child is appreciateable, creating a comfort zone for the child. Involving the child in various games and skillset and teaching the parent to practice certain technique s at home.

I have visited this for my son who has issues while pronouncing the words and rate of speech is high. After completion of few sessions, I can see the change in his speech, clarity has improved a lot and rate of speech is normal after following simple yet powerful techniques.

Hi, Its been a year plus journey with Magpie for our child. Initially we were little skeptical to start the therapy as it was online.
But our speech pathologist Mrs. Niharika proved it to be a pleasant experience for our child.she worked with our child patiently and molded her to be a confident child as she is today. Special thanks to Mrs. Niharika. Thanking her from the bottom of our hearts.

As parents of a semi verbal child we were crushed emotionally when he was diagnosed mildly autistic at Magpie in March 2021. We received a great deal of support in therapies from Magpie. We started our online speech therapy session with Ms. Akhila in May 2021 as this was the time when the world was going through the delta phase of covid. We had our doubts about online session and how the child would respond to it. We were not sure if he would sit in front of the screen at all. But Ms. Akhila knew how to hold his attention. We had issues like occasional head banging, water play, limited eye contact, echolalia. We were introduced to strategies and techniques to approach each issue. Few months down the line I joined a course with Ms. Akhila called “More than words program”. It turned out to be a blessing. The demo videos, the theory behind it, and the strategies are very useful in any environment. They are all those things, which would be there right in front of us but we don’t see them.

I would strongly recommend the program to parents of newly diagnosed children. The gratitude we feel is definitely “More than words”

Visited this place recently to my dismay I could not understand why the counsellar was rude and not clear about the things she explained to us! An effort was not taken to check our child or assess in anyway. Nor i got an counselling feeling here. I went to another centre via Google and i was in all praise to talk to a so well educated therapist that I immediately understood the difference what real service to human is. Well very rude very very negative feeling here. Anyways we feel the good when we go through something bad. Thank you for the time it's not worthy. A counsellar is one who actually have patience herself and talk in a way others get motivated just a thought! Felt happy we didn't choose this for our child.

I worked as a speech language therapist at Magpie for 3+ years. It was the greatest opportunity of my career as this is where I got to grow as a person and as a professional. I have been taking sessions from magpie with an excellent therapist, Nithya, since few months and feeling going in right direction. Sometimes push of the therapist is what i want and that is also done very patiently. Nithya picks up my son’s cues very nicely. I just wish it was offline but still online from magpie is better than offline from many speech therapy centers.

My 2+ year old started showing good progress after having online sessions with Sheba from Magpie.
Update: After 2 years of training, my daughter is able to communicate quite well. She recently joined school and is doing good. Thanks to Sheba and Magpie, their constant support has made all this possible.

Magpai and its team have been so accomadative to my son's need and set goals by continuous monitoring and nurturing him online. I feel so happy to share Ms. Namrata HG has been very adaptive and built excellent rapport with my son just in few classes. She was so composed and with patience gained his confidence. Very good experience. Attended 'Bridges' program with magpie, this is a school readiness program for children who are about to go to school, it was very useful for my son. We were also trained about various aspects to keep in mind while leaving the child to school. Thank you magpie.

We have been taking speech therapy for my son for over an year now, and it has been a very useful support system for keeping my kid on track. We also participated in BRIDGES program in the month of May 22’, which helped us gain important insight on our son’s school readiness training as well as helping my kid get a hang of classroom experience (especially as he could never go to school earlier due to COVID). This was also a group therapy session and it helped him interact with other kids and communicate in a classroom kind of setup.
I will recommend the place to everyone whose kids are facing difficulties with speech and language development.

I have been to magpie 4months ago for my 8yr old son. Namrata's assessment was very impressive. She identified his areas of improvement. He went very happily for the therapies to meet his friends in group. He improved a lot in his social conversations. He bonded well with therapists Sheba and Namrata.
Before getting group therapy from magpie I didn't have confidence in sending him to physical school. But now I am relieved and have confidence that he can do well in school with his friends and teachers.

Magpie is an excellent speech therapy centre. The staff is dedicated and set up is remarkable. Their approach is focused.
Shilpa Mam, our speech therapist has brought improvement in our child and works sincerely towards his development.
Namrata Mam keeps track of every child's progress. Children are never neglected and every effort is made for their development.

Had very bad experience here. We were asked to get ot done for my son after it was done they asked to call. The person handling appointments said dr namrata is not available for a week so we waited. Next week no response they are least bothered. She is saying look into other center. Who is she like really to tell us that it's not her duty it is doctor duty. She says it's full we don't have time. Such bad attitude will not work more if u guys treat us like this

I have been searching for a speech therapist who understands specific needs. Sometimes the needs are not very prominent. Child also outgrows the age of speech correction. In my previous experience with therapists travelling in bangalore traffic had been exhaustive for us.
But the FLEX Program from Magpie was a blessing in lockdown. My child was guided well, even when the problem was such that we didnt need an intervention. But therapist diagnosis helped us to understand the requirement, having outgrown a age still the therapist could build a rapport, could resolve child's queries. For us the counselling she provided with the therapy won half the battle. I will recommend anyone requiring little or critical help on speech to approach Magpie
