Fantastic place for a perfect family dining place. The food is awesome and the whole atmosphere is very good for a perfect birthday party and for young couples and with a family. The food and the staff are very cooperative
Maharaja Restaurant is one of the must visit family restaurants in Mangalore. They offer Amazing coastal dishes. This place offers outdoor as well as AC section. Place gets pretty crowded during weekends.
Coming to the food, Squid Ghee roast is really good.they offer lot of seafood specialities. Tried the Chicken Tawa Fry and Raja Special as well which was pretty average. The rates are reasonable. Amazing vibes.
Read good reviews before I visited this place and the reviews were apt. Only menece was parking. Go by a Rick or a 2 wheeler, never by car. Delectable food with good service. The host, Priya was very welcoming as well. She came personally to our table to check on us and was very amiable. Spice levels are on the higher end, so you gotta be very clear to specify on your spice requirements.
However the food was good enough, their pricing is extremely bitter to the pockets. And also, a water bottle of MRP rs. 20 was sold for rs. 40. They argue with me and shouted me like "do whatever you can ". A bad experience but on the other hand, their over priced chicken ghee roast is so good.
Awesome food must try there Chicken ghee roast and prawn out of the world experience and other fish curry things. Avoid Saturday and Sunday quiet heavy rush you may have wait for your turn but really worth it.
The ambiance is good. I keep visiting this restaurant with family often, used to visit this since college days. Taste is up to the mark. Value for money. There is a family section, and an open air section. Top picks are authentic Mangalore Cuisines. If you are a non vegetarian, don't miss this restaurant, try it atleast once.
I feel it’s little overhyped place. Chicken ghee roast is there signature but for fish items there are other restaurants like Machali which are much cheaper and fresher. Pros - ambience, hospitality.
Food was not worth the hype, the masala they added to tawa fish I ordered tasted sligthly odd. Ghee roast I ordered also tasted just fine. Also not a fan of dim lighted ambience.
Excellent place to have Chicken Ghee roast. All the stars are for Ghee roast and the ambience. Have option open dine, as well as A/C and Non - A/C dining.
Had group lunch for around 20 people yesterday. Service was not good, the person who takes order was so arrogant. We had a birthday cake cutting & when asked for plates to have the cakes that person speaks rudely that we cant give plates. Even when the music was too loud & disturbing & when we requested to lower volume he replies no cant. And the orders will be served too late after 12pm though the plates get dried up for the order we have to eat in same dishes, because they will get annoyed to give you second one. If you cancel the order for late delivery they will force you to take parcel with all container charges for your no fault. Will not prefer this restuarant & also shall tell other friends not to go if thy want to have good service.
It’s a very nice restaurant to go with friends and family. Service is little delayed but that’s is because of the huge amount of crowd there all the time.
Chicken ghee roast was well cooked and tasty. The biryani was mildly spiced and fresh. We also tried the Prawns Hinga Masol which was awesome too. Veg food is decent but not as good as the none veg which is what you should go for. Service could be better. We could see that they are short-staffed. Finding a parking spot is also a challenge. Although they serve alcohol, it is family friendly at least in the afternoon.
Too crowded to them to manage and there is only one word I can say about the Food is WASTE! It takes around 45 minute to get food served on the table fronm he time of food being order! The Price is high for such utter waste food!
We had to wait a lot. Servers seem to be too busy that they brought a pepsi after telling them for 4 times. The food was delivered so late. Servers doesn't listen to us even if we call them. If by chance they heard us and took the order they will take minimum of twenty minutes to serve. Pathetic service. No matter how good the food is. It's not worth it.
Chicken Ghee roast is a must try. The dishes served is very delicious, but they charge very high for the cold drinks served. (Much high than the MRP). I would advise you to avoid cold drinks in this place. Also the ice cream served is not that great.
The ambience is stuck in the 80's. But the food over comes that.good variety of mangalorien dishes and they have one of the best ghee roast in town. Service is good as well.
We had their famous dish called ghee roast chicken. Somehow I didn't like it as it just smelled all ghee and it didn't taste much good. Frankly I have ahd better chicken dishes. If you are a mangalore native, then this place might be good for you as they server good punjabi dishes, but for a traveller expecting mangalorean food, it's a no.
Best time visit maharaja restaurant is at afternoon. You can try out there special thali chicken, fish, or veg thali. There are specialists in amchi fish dishes. Chicken lollipop, tawa fry and ghee roast
VERY GOOD RESTAURANT FOR NON VEG FOODYS YOU CAN GO TO THE RESTAURANT WITH YOUR FAMILY AND CAN ENJOY THE ATMOSPHERE OF REAL CUISINE WHICH YOU WERE EXPECTING
Order was served so late, bad service though food was good, order was served 1 hour late disgusting service.never visit on Sunday i guess, food is also so costly starters starting price 300 sky high prices.
Takes very long time to deliver. We had ordered one paneer starter and it came after literally one and half hour. And the taste of non veg items were not so great. And the waiters were so rude
Had the most wonderful experience, great ambience, we sat at the open dining area and the food was great each dish had a different taste to it.the service was quick and nice. 5/5
Had gone with a group of friends who all suffered very severe poisoning for the next couple of days and had to be admitted in the hospital. Looks tasty af. But ull regret it the next day. Sigh
Bangda masala fry, chicken ghee roast, Chicken manchow soup and chicken fried rice Absolutely finger licking tasty. It's the best. I love taste here. Obviously a 5 rating
Worst restaurant, they will make u wait for hours together, they took exactly 1 hr 13 minutes to give one starter, they will keep you in Hungary stomach for hours together worst experience.won't recommend anyone else here and food also is not worth of waiting
Best ghee roast items, amazing sea food variety. The owner Vidya is so passionate about food that it reflects in the variety and quality of the food they serve. Definitely visit for family dine in.
Horrible experience. We ordered Fish Thali and Chicken Thali. The thalis took more than half an hour and when they arrived both the thalis were cold and tasteless. The Koddai fry was not up to the mark and was extremely overpriced. The service also felt rushed, overall had a terrible experience.
Will never miss dining at Maharaja whenever I visit "Namma Kudla". Special thanks to madam (the owner). You have been very humble. Ambiance 5 star. Food 5 star. Thank you!
Loved the Kori Roti, and the chonak (perch) rawa fry. The kingfish fry could have been a little less oily. But overall, an experience I enjoyed and would recommend. Sorry, got so engrossed in the food that I forgot to take photos
Good restaurant with good ambiance and good food, reasonably well priced. Only drawback is that the service is very slow and the order takes a long time to show up
We came all the way from Bangalore to have this places gassi and masala fish. If that doesn't tell you how good the food is here I don't know what will. Also the prices are reasonable. Might be disappointing to vegetarians. The staff is really friendly and ambiance is nice as well. All in all, this place is worth a visit if you are a meat lover and sea food fanatic.
Brilliant seafood on offerings. I particularly loved the ghee roast (calamari and Prawns). The fish fry was also good but unlike the exquisite taste offered by certain other restaurants close by (read Machli). Service was good though I would have liked the staff to be more accomodating with our request (fish thali) which was denied because it was 2: 45pm. However they managed to serve fish curry and rice as it is priced higher: D
I am from Goa I specially visit Hotel Maharaja along with my family for Delicious food & only the problem I am facing during my visit is of parking it is very difficult to get it.
Authentic mangalorean cuisine Restaurant; Great service; good food; Quality well maintained; Great ambience; Pocket friendly Chicken ghee roast is just amazing; Even fish dishes are good
For Authentic South Indian GSB Konkani Style SeaFood and Vegetarian food. The place is known for its Ghee Roast and Thalis. The Vegetarian Dishes is a must try as well.
We had been to birthday party but the service was worst. Customer Satisfaction is the main in the business but they do not have any motto.we ourself asked for water which is the basic thing which the hotel as to provide even after we asked non of them provide us water.worst experience
