Mangalore Pearl - Seafood Restaurant

First, as expected there was a huge rush of people waiting to get in. Once we got in, the food was served quickly.
Food was very very disappointing. Except for the chicken ghee roast, chicken roce curry, neer dosa and the kokum juice was very dull in taste. The worst part was the surma masala fry, the taste was very subtle and there was no taste at all. The fish unlike all mangalorean restaurants, was not cooked in coconut oil.

Found this gem of a place in Bangalore if you’re a seafood lover. The name itself says how it is known for Mangalorean food, and you get authentic taste with a lot of flavours. The food was just amazing and I would visit again for sure.

Fish fry of Kane and Pomfret was good. Shell fish kubbe sukka was fantastic. Did not like fish curry taste. Fast and good service. Price reasonable. Ambience was ok

Best place to have seafood in Bangalore! Expect a 15-20 min wait time on weekends during lunch hours, however the food is worth it. Seafood and fish is always fresh catch and is a must visit for fish lovers!

As we tried foods in Manglore among all the best of best restaurants.the food which we had here was most suitable and would recommend people from north to try north indian food.and prawn dishes was extremely good. #bestfood.

This place has been one of our absolute fav when it comes to seafood. ESP the manglorean style food.
They offer you typical chicken ghee roast, neer dosa which is one of its kind!
They do have good veg starter options like Brinjal fry (must try if you are tired or regular paneer, mushroom stuff) Gobi manchurian etc.
Prawn ghee roast, Sol-kadi, omelet curry and caramel custard are another do not miss dishes on their menu.
There is no parking available as the place is right on the main road but you can park the vehicle in the lane behind the restaurant.

I went there for lunch on a Saturday. Lucky for me that I visited before 2 pm and got a seat. By 2: 30 pm this place was completely full.

Ambience is very much like a coastal restaurant with beautiful murals. Well ventilated. Very courteous staff.

Really loved the food especially the fish cutlet, squid roast and prawn mootlie (I hope the spelling is correct)

Their caramel custard is my favourite now.

This place is perfect for family/ friend dining. Do check out for table availability if you plan to visit during peak hours.

Really nice place to visit and enjoy delicious Mangalorean food. It's a small place with a huge waiting line on weekends. Service is also nice and quick.
Make sure you reach early to avoid waiting. In case you end up waiting in the line, it's going to be worth it!

Located at a not so crowded place, amibience is too decent. The staff is courteous to welcome and serve you with always a smile on face. The food is heavenly at a decent price. When you see the menu, you feel like having everything and anything you chose.that would land you up to a happy tummy. Pocket friendly perfect seafood restaurant - you can call it. Good place for a dine-in
only thing that bothered me is that the menu they provided in A4 sheet printed papers, which we had to frequency ask.
Food options are good.

This Star is not for the food, as we never got to taste it. After waiting for half an hour to get seated (no issues with that). We waited for 30 mins after placing the order and no sign of it coming (in between the person taking order comes and says one of the dish we had ordered is not there, so we say no issues and replace it with fish curry). Even then no sign of our food. Finally he comes and says in a casual way that our order was lost in the kitchen and they will do it now. And instead of the starter comming server comes and leaves sannas and fish gravy (it was supposed to come with rice). Again no body comes to our table for next ten mins.in the mean while the fish curry is now cold. When we called the person taking order again he is reconfirming what what did we order (for the 3rd time). That's when we decided to leave the place. Never visiting again.

Menu is very unique. Service is fast and the food is nice. Neer dosa and chicken roast is a must try

Honestly I have a heard a lot of good things, and was super super hyped for the first time I went and tried eating there

But my goodness was I disappointed.
I had ordered seer Thawa Fry, squid Ring fry, pork Indaad, Chicken Potraday and Neer Dosa.

And my goodness was it one disappointment after another.
But let's start with something good, the Neer dosa ans the See thawa fry was decent, wasn't mind blowing or anything. But to put into perspective it was much better than the other disasters I ordered

The biggest let down was the chicken, honestly how can you go wrong in chicken, but, guess what they did, the Chick Potraday was absolutely horrible, it was basically chunks of spinach and Ragi and in the whole bowl I got exactly one piece of Chicken. So basically it was a chicken broth with spinach and Ragi. If that's the recipe, my goodness it was on point.

The pork was hard and had way too much fat in it. But the potatoes in the pork Indaad was really nice. The curry was aslo decent.

The squid was okay okay wasn't able to get my brain to wrap around what exactly stopped it from being great. But I've had better squid.

Finally the fish ny goodness was I disappointed. The marination seemed to be have been done just before it went on the frying pan and let's just say that even the marination was really average

Though a disclaimer, this is only the 4th te that I have eaten Mangalorian food, so not an expert.
But as a foodie, especially with the expectation I went was really really disappointed.

This place is heaven for seefood lovers. We have tried Appam, Neer dosa, Crab masala, Pork Roast, Pork Pepper Fry, and Squid ghee roast. All the items were super tastey and had good quantity as well.
The most tasty item out of these was squid. It was awesome. And the Squid was perfectly cooked.
The highlights of this restaurant is the seefood that they serve is very fresh and those are not overcooked. The masala mix is so perfect and it won't overpowering on the dish.

Quality and quantity vice this place is 5/5.
Service is also superb. Very professional and fast service you can expect. The restaurant was very neat and clean.

If you are going by car parking might be little bit problem. But you can find a parking spot nearby.

Prawn Ghee masala and Neer Dosa. You will never find such a delicious combo anywhere. Go there just order it and feel the heaven.

Lovely place. Good coastal food. Great on taste. Easy on pocket. The seating space is tad small but who cares if you have soo good food. Definitely coming back for more. Prawn ghee roast, neer dosa, banga fry and bread pudding (caramalized) are a must try

I had never been to nor heard of Mangalore Pearl before, and after today I regretted not going there sooner. From the moment I stepped in, the whiff of seafood transported me to Goa (haven't been to Mangalore, so it could've been the essence of Mangalore in that whiff too!) We were a large group and thankfully got three tables for us. They don't however take bookings on Sunday, just walk-ins. The items on the menu were reasonably priced. The quaint approach of the restaurant charmed me. We ordered the coorg pork, pork bafat, ghee roast chicken, ghee roast prawns, rava fried squid, kori roti, white rice, fish curry, chicken lollipops. 10/10 for the quantity and taste. The service was swift! We were only a bit bummed that the Bombay duck wasn't available. We also ordered the signature caramel custard which was alright for us, given that we weren't much fans of it. When we were leaving (around 2 pm) we noticed the HUGE waiting line and boy was it helpful going there earlier! Definitely coming back for more.
One star less because as much as I was charmed with the decor and cute caricatured paintings, i feel they could do a lil more for the approach and infrastructure for the restaurant.

I ate sardines, seer, mackerel and some other fish in various forms: curry and fried. All tasted very fresh, except for the mackerel that had a hint of being frozen. Simple ambience, great food.

Best place to have mangalorean food. Sometimes over weekends you will have to wait in queue since its crowded. Should have had parking facility. Food is amazing and worth a visit

Visited this restaurant hoping to eat healthy, Mangalore style sea food, but the quality and the taste of the food is pathetic. Hotel itself smells like fish Market. Bangada fry fish seemed like 3-4 days old fish, completely in dark black color. In Puli-Munchi fish curry, fish was smelling bad, and no Puli, no salt and no spice. Prices are not that high, but the food they offer for the price is pathetic. Non mangalorean hotels have better sea foods than this.

One of the best places in Bangalore for authentic Mangalorean food. The ambiance is quiet simple and nice. The staff so approachable and loving. Makes you feel like home. Their must try items are Sole Kadi, Kori Roti, Neer dosa, Ragi Mani, Kubbe Mutli, Kubbe Sukka.

All the recipes were delicious and were served Quickly. We had crab sukka, prawn ghee roast, neer dose, sole kadi.

Not a fan of the shrimp chutney but everything else was fantastic. Seafood is brilliant. Not too pricey. A restaurant you can definitely visit a couple times a month. Kokum juice is a bit too sweet for my liking. Ambience is pretty good.

This restaurant is one of my favourite place. Food was really tasty and service is also very good. However I missed the old place which was really nice.

The place was humble at its best. Over hyped as food and ambiance was decent. A good spot for a quick meal but not worth the travel if you plan to visit the restaurant just for food.

Eating fish after a long time. We tried the sannas, the kane curry, the bangda fry, the seer fry and the seer curry along with some rice and neer dosa. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. I would suggest this for a seafood lunch.

The Masala, gravys and curries were very good. They were spicy, fresh and satisfied my taste buds. The bangda fish was coated in good Masala which was very tasty, but the quantity of meat in the bangda and the overall size of the fish was very disappointing, especially for the pice that was charged for it. The squid rava fry was amazing. The quantity of squid and the overall portion size was good. The quality of squid meat was also good. Next was the chicken ghee roast. There was a generous amount of ghee put and the masala was also good. The meat of the chicken was well cooked and it absorbed the flavors well. But again, the number of chicken peices was just at the average amount. We also had the prawn ghee roast, which was made with the same masala as the chicken ghee roast. Here the number of prawns served was good, but the size of each prawn was not upto the mark. Lastly, the prawn biryani was amazing, it was not too spicy and perfectly balanced with all flavors, here also, the quantity of prawns was not as expected.
Overall, the taste of the food at Mangalore pearl was great yet the portions and size of meat served was not upto the mark.

Amazing food.
The environment is good. Pure costal Restaurant. The must try dish is PRAWNS GHEE ROAST. You'll go crazy. The sweetness of the fresh prawns and the gravy is just outstanding. You'll be wanting for more and more. And the another one is a drink SOLKADI. The sweet coconut milk, with tanginess of tamarind and a little spicy of ginger, Wow.
If you live in Bangalore visit this place for atleast once.

Was a great find for us. We wanted to try a new cuisine and this place serves authentic Mangalore food. Neat and tidy place, peaceful ambience, extremely reasonable prices, good service by staff.
We ate prawn rava fry-280 rs (my fav), chicken cutlet-80rs, mutton ghee roast-340, brown rice-40rs only, sannas (according to its mangalorean idly) -25 rs only, chicken rice curry-190, croaker fish or dadiyar fish fry -140 only and caramel custard-75 rs only (yummy). Everything was good. The drinks sol kadi and cocoon.jucir both were too good. We repeated those drinks. Mutton could have been cooked more soft but that could be my preference. Taste was subtle, no issues with digestion (we are not used to coconut milk or oil that much). Overall, we are very happy to have found an affordable yet tasty resturant. I am sure we are gojng to go here very often in future.

Mangalore pearl is the best seafood restaurant in Bengaluru. This is the best place if you want to relish Mangalore style fish curries and fry. Prawn ghee roast with neer dosa is a must try here. The fish fries are delicious. The service staff are extremely courteous and hospitable.

They make amazing prawn ghee roast - fresh light and aldente prawns. I have never had such amazingly well don’t prawn ghee roast.

If you go during lunch, make sure to have rice
Lunch along with fish curry and tawau fry / prawn ghee roast.

They also serve kokum juice. Please try that also.

If you are going for dinner, have the same fish curry (with choice of your fish) and choice of spicy ness and neer dosa. If you feel indulgent, have the prawn ghee roast too:)

Have been frequenting this restaurant for many years. Excellent food if you like coastal cuisine. They shifted to a new location at assaye road which is reasonably located. Fish, chicken and even the veg dishes are fantastic. Also reasonable priced.

I had the worst experience related to payment. This restaurant has good food, no doubt. But when it comes to payments and irritating updates on the restaurant, this one tops my list. They spam your calls everyday. They irritate you so much after you leave that you don't want to come back because of their desperate nature.

The neer dosa and prawn ghee roast is a must try, they get the flavour and masala done just right that the taste lingers on in your mind.

Love the food here! The owner is a courteous and charming individual, and the staff are caring and open to feedback! Try the ghee roast items with neer dosa, or the curries with red rice! Prawn biryani is special on the weekends!

The food is exceptional, there is not doubt there. But the staff are even better. I had issues with my delivery partner for one particular order and the staff gracefully resolved it for me. Kudos!

I'm so glad we dropped in for a meal! If you miss home cooking then you'll get it right here. The decor is welcoming and sets you at ease as soon as you step in. The wall murals are fun and the seating comfortable. The service is attentive and quick. The food is hot and delicious and the fish is Uber fresh. It's been such a lovely experience dining here that it does warrant future visits.

The restaurant serves excellent quality Mangalorean food. One week ends its beeter to go early for food. There is a 15 mi wait for a table to get vacant. The costal food dishes are awesome. The kaaney fish, Prawn ghee roast, neer dosa or sanas are excellent. Highly recommend.

There are veg and non veg options. I went with the dhal and a boneless fish curry - I found them to be a bit spicy even though I'd asked them to make it mild - delicious nonetheless! The piping hot neer dosas and the rotis were a great addition to the meal. Definitely worth a visit - don't be put off by the ambiance.
