Mekedatu KSTDC Restaurant

The food quality and quantity were good.
Very well maintained separate washroom for men n women with clean basin.
It's very rare to get tea in this big cup.

Pathetic Bru coffee with lot of sugar will be available for Rs 25/- + Palmolive oil fried pakoda for Rs. 100/- per plate. If you don't care about quality, taste and wastage of money you can visit this restaurant

The only reason for going to this restaurant is because there is no option.
You have to wait atleast one to 1.5 hour to get your food. Prices are not less than any high fi hotel but you will get the better taste at any road side hotel than here.
If you are planning to Mekedattu anytime, pack your food or suffer with hunger rather than eating here.
Hope they will improve their capacity to serve better and faster.
KSTDC should really look into this and take necessary actions

Poor service with limited options.
Considering best location amidst nature, they could have maintained better with neatness. They looked understaffed as well.

Food was very oily and tasteless. Mostly people go here as there is no other hotel nearby.

I never had such worst food in life. My bill amount is around 1100rs.it's not even worth for 100rs.

Food was decent.hygiene has to maintained and lack of maintaince which has to be improved.

Awesome place to enjoy with friends and family. You will get fresh fish over there with very reasonable price. Water is very clean and very low and feel like beach with sand.

Only restaurant available at mekedaatu. Tried veg rice, taste was average. Tried rice and daal tadka it was good. Fish and chicken will be served for non vegetarians.

Super trukking place, now government banned the entry into the river spot.only we can enjoy from above spot.

You will not find many options here.in the menu you have a lot of options but in reality very few, they will say are available, such as fried rice or bread omelette.

The fact is you have only this restaurant available there with a washroom facility. After a long journey you need a washroom. And this place has that.

The best part is you will get a nice view while dining here in the restaurant.

Overall a ok place.as it is managed by Karnataka state tourism department (KSTD). I was expecting better service and availability of the items.

The rates are also towards higher side and it doesn't go with quality and quantity of the food.

Food is ok. Ordered pepper chicken fry but served kabab fried pieces which are very hard to eat. Same Kabab fried pieces used for different chicken flavours

The atmosphere is average. It is not clean and the tables were in a very bad condition. Service of the staff was not that great. The food served was the worst I had from any of the hotels in my entire life. The prices being that of a 3 star hotel and the food quality was very bad.

Plan your day well if you don't want to end up having pathetic food here.
This is the only restaurant (few small shops available though) and would feel hungry after visiting magnificent Makedatu gorge. And they have the worst food and service to offer.
We had food in other KSTDC restaurants (e.g, near Barachukki) and always liked the food, but here is an exception. Even the dal was also bad, and don't bother to even think of the chicken dishes (not well cooked and used the same oil to fry fishes, so that you can enjoy smell of fish in chicken as well).
The bad food is well complimented by poor service. We ordered green salad and was not served till midway, when checked, the person who was serving told us, "do you want to have it or cancel it". Probably it's pretty regular for him hence he could suggest that with a poker face.
Best to avoid this place if you can and drive for 30 mins to reach better place towards Kanakpura to have lunch or even try the small shops nearby.

They accept only cash as the restaurant falls in no network zone. Also, the food is on spicier side.

We had afternoon snacks (onion pakoda) here. Also Coffee and tea are good and reasonably priced.

Good food and taste is maintained though has only one restaurant there.
They do take time to server food

Good place for a day out! Can spend time playing in water. Good view. Good location for photos!
Food - try to carry food to the location. You also get good fried fish in local shop. The only restaurant there " Mayura" is very expensive for the quality of food they serve!

Overall it's worth for a day trip with family or friends. And it's really important to stay safe!

My personal feedback is they used too much spices and made the simple food very ugly to taste wont recommed but no other option in the location

Great place worth visiting. If u wanna enjoy the early morning and late evening beauty of nature u can stay in govt guest house there in. Otherwise a day is enough to visit. Please carry cash no card acceptance due to weak network connection

Very bad experience.we are almost
forced to leave the restaurant with out food even after waiting for nearly 30 minutes. My sincere advice to Karnataka Government to close down kstdc and use the money saved in education and health sector

It was reasonable, safe, hygienic. The food was good, not great but not bad either.you can clearly go with this food without any problems, this is the most hygienic pace with a good seating and fan once you're done with your trip.
They have cold drinks, lemonade, etc to quench your thirst and replenish your electrolytes.
It's more of a cash only so keep that in mind as signal is weak here and card machine most of the times doesn't work.

It's Nature's Lap anyway one wants to Relax and Rewind from the city habitat.

Fresh and hot but check the Covid 19 restrictions. Fish is missing from the menu.

If you are staying in-house you will be served at room.

Mostly the fried chickens, fishes, crabs and other locally available foods are found there.

Service is quite good and price also under budget (between 50-300 INR).

Cash as well as Card works. Nearby ATM is miles away so carry plenty of cash to explore the place around.

The food quantity is good and quality is decent. Value for money items. The ambience is good. You will be sitting next to river and having your food. If you are visiting sangama, make sure you eat from here. After you leave this place, there are no good restaurants nearby

Limited menu items and slightly overpriced. For breakfast only 2 items were available - omelette and pulav. We felt pulav was bit oily. Staff is polite. Restrooms were clean. I just wish the menu needs to be increased. There is play area for kids next to the restaurant. There are few tables at the back overlooking the river and monkeys playing. Windows have grill to prevent monkeys from entering. They advise you not to feed them. Restaurant closes at 8pm for dinner and opens at 9 am for breakfast.

Nice to visit be careful in the rainy season
The boat people are very cunning they talked to tourist for few minutes and they ask for the tip.

Don't promise to such people be aware

Nothing much to see. Roads are bad. Passes through many villages. 70kmph can be your max speed.

Food was worst.we ordered veg pulav rice and it was like turmeric rice with cheap quality rice.it costs around 140rs. Not at all worth. Just wondered that the restaurant is maintained by KSTDC. Just loosing their credibility by maintaining these type of restaurant

It is very small sangam and not allowed to go inside river and mekedhatu is the just flow of water between stones nothing great to see and enjoy

Getting to eat something in a place as remote as this especially at night itself is 3stars.

A typical government canteen. Decent food and service. Very near to sangam. Only good food option if you’re visiting sangam mekdatu

Only hotel we find there, food isn't great. We were a group of 4 n all of us felt uneasy after we had the gobi Manchurian.

Located near the mekedatu sangam. The place offers decent food for the travellers at an affordable rates.usually crowded. Has washrooms.

Nothing much to eat here, very limited options in menu, that too most items are not available. The bathroom outside restaurant was very dirty and not maintained. Broken doors with no running water and stinking very badly. Staff behaviour was also very rude

Hotel is not bad and adjustable to ha r food once we had break fast which was one with few options. I have ordered Indian food poori it was good

This is the only restaurant that's available if you go to any of these places - chunchi falls, sangama or mekedatu.
If you are going to any of these places, make sure you go in monsoon season or just after it, so that the view is better and also you get to enjoy the nature.
Coming to the restaurant you get both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.
There are many other refreshment shops near it.
I had been there for lunch. The ambiance is nice.
You get to see the river from the restaurant itself.
Also the view is really good.
Prices might be a bit high, but that is the only restaurant available there and also we should be happy that we get food here.
This place is around 100km from Bangalore.
